  1. First let me apologize for the rampant spam that this forum has experienced for the past several weeks.  Since the C-MAX is discontinued, we essentially left the site up and running based on the previous moderator's wishes to upkeep it.  That obviously didn't happen.

I have cleaned up the site earlier today and rooted up all suspected members.  I also made it tougher for spammers to register and I'll keep an eye on the site.

If anyone would like to help moderate the site, please let me know.

The official Ford authorized Electric+Energi+Hybrid registry is now online!  You can registry any alternative fuel powered Ford product in the registry and create a unique record for your vehicle(s).

The registry not only creates a historical record of vehicle ownership, it also creates a database of all Ford alternative fuel vehicles that will be searchable so that you can see how many

other vehicles like yours are registered, how other users rate their experience and a lot more!

    What is VOYO?

The World’s Most Advanced Connected Car Technology

We have developed the world's most advanced, aftermarket connected car system. At the core of the VOYO platform is the ability to acquire and utilize the large amounts of complex data produced by modern cars.

The VOYO controller is based on a specialized, high speed data logger that is typically used by auto companies in their development work.

VOYO connects to the OBD-II port of your car, generally located underneath the dash. Any car built since 1996 has one, and most of VOYO’s Standard Features will be supported in a wide number of cars.

For certain models/years of GM, Ford and Toyota, you will have the option to add our remote controlled Relays that increase VOYO's fuel savings and add unique security features. Additional makes/models are planned post Kickstarter.

Depending on the vehicle, you may also have the option to upgrade to our Premium Pack services. See below for more details on VOYO hardware, Standard Features, Premium Pack services and supported vehicles.

By the time your VOYO ships, you will be able to download the free VOYO phone App. It will provide you with a whole new digital experience and allow you to collect a wealth of information about your car as well as control its systems.

The App will also guide you through the set up process and confirm that VOYO is correctly installed.

The whole system is plug and play and is connected in under 2 minutes. No tools or automotive experience are required.

  4. By 2017, under 50% of new cars will use conventional gas engines

The reign of the traditional, internal combustion engine might be rapidly ending, depending on your definition. In its report Automotive Fuel Efficiency Technologies, Navigant Research predicts that by 2017 "conventional gasoline-powered vehicles" are going to be less than half of the market for new autos worldwide.

I own a 2013 Ford C-Max that has spent a total of 43 days in the shop since purchase on October 7th 2013. It refuses to start, has had two bad wheel bearings, a rattle, navigation that is wonky and a stereo that decides what radio station I can listen to and Ford Motor Company will not buy it back.

We are sorry to read that you're having problems with your C-MAX. Have you contacted a Ford C-MAX rep. on this forum?

Finally, some of your posts are redundant, so they have been moved.  Please refrain from spamming the forum.

  6. Ford Motor Company Launches New Warranty for Ford Genuine and Motorcraft® Parts

Ford Motor Company will announce at the annual Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) trade show on Nov. 6 the launch of a new warranty on Genuine Ford and Motorcraft service parts. The new warranty provides unlimited mileage coverage for 24 months from time of purchase or installation. Ford will also now reimburse fleets and independent repair facilities up to $150 in labor coverage. Ford continues a No Commercial Exceptions policy as a commitment to fleet customers.

“The Ford backing, clarity of terms, labor coverage and access to our nationwide network for coverage, provides greater value and peace of mind for all our customers whether they are general consumers, fleet operators or independent repair facilities,” said Jay Davis, General Sales Manager, Ford Motor Company.

Ford’s part warranty provides customers towing reimbursement for repairs completed at any Ford or Lincoln Dealership. The warranty also provides Independent Repair Facilities the ability to complete repairs for customers by securing parts from a dealership or Ford Authorized Distributor. All customers benefit with more options on how they can have their vehicles serviced.

Ford’s previous service parts warranty was 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurred first, and labor was covered if the part was installed by a Ford or Lincoln dealership. Labor was not covered on parts sold over-the-counter to a fleet or installer.

  8. Cars that draw pictures based on your drive, an LED display to automatically communicate with cars behind you, a musical composition based on how you drive. Pipe dreams? Hardly! These are just some of the innovations that were dreamed up and developed during the Boing Boing Ingenuity hack day held August 17, 2013, at the TechShop in San Francisco.

Boing Boing is an online magazine devoted to technology and the culture that surrounds technology. What a perfect match for the Ford OpenXC platform, and the 2013 Ford C-MAX Hybrid! Boing Boing invited some of the top hackers in its community and Ford brought a C-MAX as well as its expertise. The goal was for the participants in this hack day – dubbed Data Driven – to create some new, innovative features or functions using the data available through the Ford OpenXC platform. And innovate they did! We already mentioned some of the really cool projects that were built throughout the day, and there were many more!

There was the real-cost driving meter. Want to know the true cost of a trip? The goal of this project was to factor in wear-and-tear as well as depreciation of the vehicle.

How about a driving replicator? This hack pulls the data from your drive – your turns, your acceleration, your braking – and then replicates it through a toy RC car.

And how is this for the ultimate password: Driving a certain pattern unlocks a locked box inside the vehicle!

Want more? The Boing Boing team has posted quite a few stories at www.boingboing.net and will continue to add more in the coming weeks.
