  1. You had already posted that excerpt earlier in this thread. That's why I was thanking you and the others who posted the same. Have a good weekend.
  2. I cannot thank you all enough for posting your experiences with your C-Max transmission problems. I recently sold my 2013 (9/2012 build) C-Max with 91k to a private party. When I sold it, I did hear some noise that sounded like a bearing but I thought it was probably a wheel bearing. I informed the buyer and we negotiated a fair price, factoring in the cost to replace a wheel bearing. I offered to have the car repaired first but she really wanted the car so she said she would take care of it after the sale. Yesterday, she sent me a text saying that her mechanic checked the noise and it is the transmission and will be a $5000 charge for repair! At first I couldn't believe it and told her to get a second opinion from a Ford dealer and started looking at C-Max transmissions on Ebay thinking that even if the tranny was shot, it wouldn't cost 5k to replace. After more searching, I came to this forum and read through this thread. I would have never guessed that the transmission would be covered under the 8yr/100,000 Hybrid Electrical warranty! I was sure that would be covered under the 5yr/60,000 powertrain warranty which has obviously lapsed. Anyway, she took the car to a Ford dealer today and they are going ahead with the warranty replacement of the transmission. What a huge relief. Again, a huge shout-out to you guys. You rock. -siggy
  3. Since I made my post, our C-max clock has been correct (of course). If it happens again, I'm going to try the master reset that dtorres suggested.
  4. Thanks. Looking forward to hearing about the results!
  5. So we've had our C-Max for almost 4 weeks and one strange problem has come up. When I leave for work in the morning, sometimes the clock is wrong. Not only is it wrong, but it's set to the exact time that I turned the car off the previous night when I got home from work. This has already happened three times. It's a minor annoyance of course but I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this problem. Thanks! Oh, and we have the 2013 C-Max SE with Equipment Group 202A (MyFord Touch, SYNC, Sirius)
  6. The car is at 1092 miles and lists our average at 44.3 mpg. It goes about 40 miles a day over mostly flat terrain with a mix of about 70% two-lane highway (50-60mph) and 30% city driving. We've had a fairly mild autumn here with highs ranging between 50-70 degrees. Obviously, the A/C in our car has not been used nearly as much as your Texas car. We have used the heated seats though!
  7. My wife and I bought a 2013 C-Max SE from a local dealer in New Hampshire and we are very happy with the car! We've had the car for about 3 weeks and have put about 1000 commuting miles on it and find it to be a very comfortable and efficient ride. Strangely, we didn't even know the C-Max existed and were about to buy a Prius to replace our 2005 Corola when we stopped at a dealer that sells both Toyota and Ford and were able to test drive both cars and compare them side by side. Both cars were adequate for our needs and both drove well but we felt that the Ford's interior was far, far better than the Prius in terms of materials, workmanship and features. Plus, we liked that the powertrain was more advanced and that it uses a L-ion battery for the electric motor. Any questions, please ask away! -Greg
  8. Hi and thanks for starting this thread. I too am looking for a wheel/snow tire combination as we get a fair amount of snow up here in Maine but I haven't found much online since the C-Max is so new (to the US). The idea of dropping to 16" tires is interesting; I'm sure it would yield more traction but would it be at the expense of fuel economy? I realize that any snow tire will have greater rolling resistance than the stock tires but there is hopefully a good balance out there of cold weather traction and fuel economy. I guess I could just go with the stock tires and see what happens. At least the heated seats will keep me warm while I'm stuck in a ditch!
