  1. Thanks for the info, sounds like a solid result for the combo of weight and aerodynamic resistance! One follow p question; how was the noise level impacted by the rack and box being on the car? Did you notice a significant amount of wind noise in the cabin? Thanks again for the info.
  2. Up here in the Pacific NW supplies are limited of SEL's. I had a Ruby Red my dealer found and set up a trade not to have the other dealer sell the car out from under me. No other SEL 302 or 303's in the Portland Metro area and I didn't want to try to have the dealer find and trade again. So I searched the Ford site for local inventory, changing the Zip Code for different areas in WA state. Finally found a couple and settled on an Ice Storm 303 with Panorama roof. They honored my X-Plan pricing, plus my $750 brochure and $750 rebate. I will pick it up tomorrow (2.5hr drive in each direction) and finally give my wife her new C-Max! I think I've enjoyed this process much more than she did. When I asked her to choose between Charcoal and Ice Storm she said, "I just want it to be over"!!! I'm trying to remember how much time she put into research, test drives and pricing (none) and I thought, "why does she want it to be over."...oh well, I still love her!
  3. So I have to give a huge shout out to this forum thread - you folks just saved me $750! Last week after reading this thread I sent in for some brochures on the chance that I could get a $750 coupon in one. I checked with my dealer today (I have not received the physical brochures yet) and the discount was there!! So cool - so I have X-Plan pricing, $750 rebate from Ford and $750 brochure coupon as well. THANKS!!! We will be purchasing a Ruby Red SEL with 302A pkg, and pano roof - dealer just confirmed finding it locally and trading with the other dealer. Next week Wifey will be driving Hybrid style, instead of Honda Pilot gas guzzling style :-)
  4. Thanks for the info, I'm really hearing the same thing you are on pricing, they aren't budging much. I ordered 2 brochures in hopes I might get a coupon in one. Sad that I'm reduced to brochure lottery for additional discounts! Enjoy your new baby!
  5. Maxwell, Congrats on joining the C-Max ranks! Anyone who considers themselves tech savvy will love this car, and take full advantage of all the tech! Earth Day, Beatles, we are clearly of the same generation :-) I'm buying this car for my wife and we are in the final stages of the purchasing process. We are buying the identical car - Ruby (Tuesday) Red with Pano Sunroof. Just curious, if you don't mide sharing, what did you pay for your car? Any discounts on negotiations? Again, welcome, congrats and thanks, pnwAl
  6. Wow, this is great! With my iPad on me at all times, I can search anytime (I'm not operating the vehicle, that is!) Thanks!
  7. I agree, I have been in the shopping process for the last month, looking at the C-Max, Chevy Volt and Prius V. We had the opportunity to rent the C-Max SEL from the dealer and take it for a long weekend. 500 miles later, we were sold on the C-Max, hands down. Then I hit the forum and started reading about issues with the battery, Nav and Sync. It is concerning to me but I work in the software industry and I know the pros and cons of software: first, there's never been a perfect piece of software created, second, software can always be improved over time and updated in existing products. The fact that you accurately represented this as a computer on wheels to me is its saving grace. There will be a constant improvement process, not without its bugs and false fixes, but they can make it better as long as they keep at it. Ford has a lot to gain and a lot to one if they can create a true competitor to the Prius and that will keep them invested in the cycle of improvement. Forums like this are really monitored by Ford, and Toyota and others, I guarantee it. Keep this community thriving and we all benefit! Thanks to all for your FANatical community.
  8. Thanks agin for the info, Eco cruise is the way to go! I also live on the west side and I'm working with Landmark Ford. I want a competent dealer and service department first, but would also like it to be conveniently close to my Tualatin home!
  9. Thanks for the note Homestead, as a fellow Portlander, I drive to Bellevue every other week. I-5 is a nice track, mostly 75 MPH with my current Acura TL gets me 26 MPG. I can't wait to compare with my C-Max. The C-Max will be my wife's primary driver as she put 30K miles per yr on her Honda Pilot (18-20MPG). We rented from dealer a couple of weekends ago and drove to Bend and back. Averaged 39.5 MPG without employing any of Jus-A-CMax's FE techniques. Not sure I will get the wife to follow any of them, but we're in a no lose situation comping from the Pilot! Just curious, which dealer did you purchase from? And comments on the buying or service experiences? Thanks and congrats on the increased MPG's!
  10. I'm looking at a new SEL with a build date of 03/19/2013. I will have to check the versions before I finalize the purchase. Anyone out there have a similar build date? Besides the 3.5.1 seems I should be looking for A4 maps, anything else? THX!
  11. Thanks all for the info on the X-Plan. It turns out my company does participate and you folks probably saved me $1000!
