  1. If you just park the car and leave it on it will automatically turn the engine on when you need to charge the battery. It shouldn't run often if you are just parked and only using the audio system. Once the battery gets down low enough the engine will come on to charge the battery, you will be using the high voltage battery this way and not the 12 volt I believe. Others may have other ideas or correct me if i am wrong.

  2. Ok so I might have exaggerated the "Giant" Helmicken Falls but is still pretty impressive (I prefer to see it in the winter when it builds the "Snow Cone") plus lots of other things to see in do in Wells Grey Park. My wife and I love to take friends and relatives to Wells Grey and spend a day or two just exploring inside the park. It's about 2 hours from Kamloops to Clearwater and then about another 45 minutes into the park to see the Falls and the many other hiking trails which can be short or long walks.

  3. I think the new speed limits just encourages people to go faster. I do think 120 is good on the highway but it needs to be enforced better so you don't get all the others doing 140 which is not safe. I don't follow to many big trucks as the Cmax has the power to pull into the fast lane and zoom on by. That is why I love the Cmax so much - fuel saving when you want and power when you need it. It is funny how we can find different things beautiful as I look around kamloops and love the look, I can appreciate the Sunpeaks beauty but will come home to the desert any day.

  4. 7 hours south sounds like an easy one to bring in if it available. Contact your local dealer and have them call to see if it is available and have it shipped up. When we went to our dealer and searched available vehicles on their inventory list they came back with a candy blue one available and we went to work getting it shipped. As it turns out after a call to the dealer who had it that it was infact already sold. It is the one problem I had with our search for a new vehicle. Not sure why ford can't mark vehicles in their inventory as sale pending if a deal is in the works on the vehicle. We finally settled on the ice storm and are now very happy with the colour. I wasn't so sure I would like it when we ordered it but once we got it I fell in love. Good luck on your search and hope you get what you want.

  5. Snow is definitely different up here in the interior. We saw about 15cms and it is still coming down. Was out and about most of the day and really enjoying the drive. It is also different to drive in up here as we are a little more ready for it and maybe even used to it. The news was definitely portraying the snow in the mainland as quite the problem where as the news here locally it was just another day with a bit more snow but not all the hype it gets when it happens in Vancouver. Enjoy the white stuff and Merry Ho Ho to everyone and their Cmaxes.

  6. I find our cmax will lurch when going down hill and coming to a slow/stop when it switches from ICE power to electric. I wonder if this recall would be related to this and would be glad to know the number so I can look into it at dealer. It is quite noticeable as you brake to slow and it switches from ICE power to EV when going down hill. I will be keeping my eye on this thread to see if any more info come up or even if others have noticed this lurching.

  7. Hey Laurel, seems to me it is down low on the dash right behind the gear shift lever. Along the row of buttons with the auto park and the button to turn off the parking sensors when in a drivethru. That seems to be where I remember seeing it, but maybe my memory is wrong. Have a look and see if you can find it and I will look in the morning to be sure.

  8. I find the Cmax handles quite well in the snow. I travel about 60 kms to work every day on the highway at speeds of about 110 kms per hour and most of it is uphill some pretty steep climbs. I do have winter tires on the car but find the extra weight of the vehicle really makes her stick to the road. I tend to do lots of passing in the snow covered lane as others are travelling in the clear lane at decreased speeds. I have never felt like I was over doing it speed wise but find she handles the snow and slush quite well. My last car would toss around in the snow and slush but our Cmax seems to just glide right through it, I assume it is the extra weight that helps. I do find the white stuff sticks to the back of the car quite a bit and then the back up camera gets covered. Thus I seem to be clearing off the back of the car after each trip otherwise the back up proximity sensors will squeal constantly and the camera is a great view of a white wall.

  9. I have had the same problem up here in the cold white north. The difference is that it doesn't even work with gloves off. It seems if it is really cold it will not unlock or lock with the touch/ sense feature. It seems to act up when it is -15 Celsius or more. Once the day warms up it seems to work better in the afternoon, but still a little spotty. Had it to the dealer and they could not replicate the problem, no kidding it works fine in the warm shop. I never would have guessed. Be great to know if anyone else is experiencing this problem, and any solutions you may find.

  10. Love the tint on our windows. We are only allowed the rear windows (cannot tint front side windows or windshield) in BC so we have them in the darkest tint possible and it looks awesome. Also got the moon roof tinted with the least tint possible just to protect from UV rays.
