  1. 40 when I got my max and now 42
  2. It would only honk twice when you return if you had left your keys somewhere. When you return and the keys are with you the car does not double honk. Cheers, Bruce
  3. If you just park the car and leave it on it will automatically turn the engine on when you need to charge the battery. It shouldn't run often if you are just parked and only using the audio system. Once the battery gets down low enough the engine will come on to charge the battery, you will be using the high voltage battery this way and not the 12 volt I believe. Others may have other ideas or correct me if i am wrong. Cheers, Bruce
  4. I think you might try mail polish remover on the glass windows. Don't think I would use it on painted areas as it may dissolve the clear coat and paint but you could test it on an inconspicuous area first if you want to try it. Cheers, Bruce
  5. Ok so I might have exaggerated the "Giant" Helmicken Falls but is still pretty impressive (I prefer to see it in the winter when it builds the "Snow Cone") plus lots of other things to see in do in Wells Grey Park. My wife and I love to take friends and relatives to Wells Grey and spend a day or two just exploring inside the park. It's about 2 hours from Kamloops to Clearwater and then about another 45 minutes into the park to see the Falls and the many other hiking trails which can be short or long walks. Cheers, Bruce
  6. Hey Nick, So much to do in this area as Laurel has said SunPeaks is definitely a highlight, but the Shuswap is not far as is Clearwater and the giant Helmicken Falls. Around Kamloops there are many fishing, hiking, biking areas you could spend years here just exploring. Hope you make it this way and enjoy your trip as much as Laurel has. Cheers, Bruce
  7. I think the new speed limits just encourages people to go faster. I do think 120 is good on the highway but it needs to be enforced better so you don't get all the others doing 140 which is not safe. I don't follow to many big trucks as the Cmax has the power to pull into the fast lane and zoom on by. That is why I love the Cmax so much - fuel saving when you want and power when you need it. It is funny how we can find different things beautiful as I look around kamloops and love the look, I can appreciate the Sunpeaks beauty but will come home to the desert any day. Cheers, Bruce
  8. Ah yes Sunpeaks the undiscovered Whistler. Probably the best mountain in BC to ski at and in the summer the alpine blossom festival is amazing. So much to do in such a beautiful setting. I'm glad you found it and hope your trip next year is great. I love living in the interior of BC with family in Vancouver it is great to visit them but I truly love coming home. Cheers, Bruce
  9. Have a great trip Laurel, TIP should be able to find Heffley Lake. Weather here in the loops is about 30 degrees and supposed to cool a little bit the next few days but mid 20 to mid 30s is perfect weather in my mind to be heading to the lake. Cheers, Bruce
  10. Missed the Fed Ex guy on Friday so picked up the $725 Canadian check today. Thanks Ford, keep em coming. Cheers, Bruce
  11. If you push and hold the unlock button on your key fob for 10 seconds it will roll down all windows. It usually happens with the key fob in your pocket and it gets pushed when you sit down. Cheers, Bruce
  12. The black strips on my C-max have two "doors" for lack of a better term on each strip, that can flip open and under is a threaded screw hole. I would guess it is to attach a roof rack system to it. Cheers, Bruce
  13. You know way more then I also but I have tinted the sunroof with the lightest tint possible just for the SPF protection. It may have had some protection before but know I know it has it and have had no problems so far. You do not notice it being darker than before with the tinting. Cheers, Bruce
  14. 7 hours south sounds like an easy one to bring in if it available. Contact your local dealer and have them call to see if it is available and have it shipped up. When we went to our dealer and searched available vehicles on their inventory list they came back with a candy blue one available and we went to work getting it shipped. As it turns out after a call to the dealer who had it that it was infact already sold. It is the one problem I had with our search for a new vehicle. Not sure why ford can't mark vehicles in their inventory as sale pending if a deal is in the works on the vehicle. We finally settled on the ice storm and are now very happy with the colour. I wasn't so sure I would like it when we ordered it but once we got it I fell in love. Good luck on your search and hope you get what you want. Cheers, Bruce
  15. Definitely the black with roof. I love how large it makes the interior feel, and you can cover I with the shade if you don't want the sun shining in.
  16. Got my front seat weather tech floor mats and installed them promptly. The look and fi perfectly. This will definitely keep the floor clean and make it easier to just remove and rinse the floor mats when they do get dirty. Cheers, Bruce
  17. Snow is definitely different up here in the interior. We saw about 15cms and it is still coming down. Was out and about most of the day and really enjoying the drive. It is also different to drive in up here as we are a little more ready for it and maybe even used to it. The news was definitely portraying the snow in the mainland as quite the problem where as the news here locally it was just another day with a bit more snow but not all the hype it gets when it happens in Vancouver. Enjoy the white stuff and Merry Ho Ho to everyone and their Cmaxes. Cheers, Bruce
  18. I find our cmax will lurch when going down hill and coming to a slow/stop when it switches from ICE power to electric. I wonder if this recall would be related to this and would be glad to know the number so I can look into it at dealer. It is quite noticeable as you brake to slow and it switches from ICE power to EV when going down hill. I will be keeping my eye on this thread to see if any more info come up or even if others have noticed this lurching. Cheers, Bruce
  19. Hey Laurel, seems to me it is down low on the dash right behind the gear shift lever. Along the row of buttons with the auto park and the button to turn off the parking sensors when in a drivethru. That seems to be where I remember seeing it, but maybe my memory is wrong. Have a look and see if you can find it and I will look in the morning to be sure. Cheers, Bruce
  20. I find the Cmax handles quite well in the snow. I travel about 60 kms to work every day on the highway at speeds of about 110 kms per hour and most of it is uphill some pretty steep climbs. I do have winter tires on the car but find the extra weight of the vehicle really makes her stick to the road. I tend to do lots of passing in the snow covered lane as others are travelling in the clear lane at decreased speeds. I have never felt like I was over doing it speed wise but find she handles the snow and slush quite well. My last car would toss around in the snow and slush but our Cmax seems to just glide right through it, I assume it is the extra weight that helps. I do find the white stuff sticks to the back of the car quite a bit and then the back up camera gets covered. Thus I seem to be clearing off the back of the car after each trip otherwise the back up proximity sensors will squeal constantly and the camera is a great view of a white wall. Cheers, Bruce
  21. I have had the same problem up here in the cold white north. The difference is that it doesn't even work with gloves off. It seems if it is really cold it will not unlock or lock with the touch/ sense feature. It seems to act up when it is -15 Celsius or more. Once the day warms up it seems to work better in the afternoon, but still a little spotty. Had it to the dealer and they could not replicate the problem, no kidding it works fine in the warm shop. I never would have guessed. Be great to know if anyone else is experiencing this problem, and any solutions you may find. Cheers, Bruce
  22. Love the tint on our windows. We are only allowed the rear windows (cannot tint front side windows or windshield) in BC so we have them in the darkest tint possible and it looks awesome. Also got the moon roof tinted with the least tint possible just to protect from UV rays. Cheers, Bruce
  23. Mr. FedEx just dropped off our payment. Now we can schedule our winter tire installation and purchase. Cheers, Bruce
  24. Awesome Laurel, maybe mine is not far behind. Who knows maybe it was delivered today as I am at work till 11:00pm so will check when I get home. Cheers, Bruce
  25. Thanks for the confirmation Laurel I am going to give them a call this week. Cheers, Bruce
