on my SECOND tank of gas, I was able to achieve the 600 milestone. I live in a rural area, thus no city and minimal interstate driving on this tank. i used non ethynol regular gas at about $3.41/gal vs 3.30 for ethy. regular. 90 % of my driving was in rolling hill ...(some pretty steep) country of southwest virginia with a couple of trips thrown in along the blueridge parkway in some pretty severe inclines and decents . almost no freeway or city driving. since we are experiencing unusual mild weather for summer, i used ac about 50% of time. as you can see, i cut it pretty close on running out of gas, but the trip 1 gage helped reassure me that i could make it to the station. second thoughts creeped in while viewing the trip one gallons used and calculating how many miles i had left to use .... i kept questioning whether i had truly filled the tank up to its max. at the last fillup. following the experience shared here, i don't understand all the issue re mpg. i clearly beat the epa 47 on this tank and the only BIG change I have had to make is to be patient ( stay at second ICE mark or below) when using the gas pedal to climb grades ...yet be mindful of other traffic...which isn't easy on two lane rural roads. next i will tackle the interstate and see what i achieve there. I am so happy with this car and so thankful for the sharing of experience by others on the forum. finally named her two ..."Jolene"...

my first fillup today. i'll try to attach a photo ...not sure of process. got 526 miles and 45.3 mpg per instruments. mpg measured via pump was 43.5. i picked up the cmax from dealer on monday, july 29. first tank driving was about 65% rooling hills and some mountainous terrain and 35% was 2 lane country roads and minimal interstate. AC was on about 50% of the time due to a cool spell in southwest virginia. had a clear bra installed and i believe this will prove to be a valuable investment. my miles to E reads 41, and i put 12.01 gallons in on the fillup. thus, i conclude that the tank muct be around 13 gallon vs the 12.5 in the specs or most likely, the "miles to empty is wrong. overall, love this car. had it on some winding roads and it handled well. one fault that i found that really bothers me is the long turning radius. definitely an area that i will have to adapt to. but if that is all i have to live with ... then all is well! i uploaded the instrument pic as an attachment, how do i get the pic into this text box?? thanks

picked up cmax on monday 7/29. white platinum 302a package :) got the splash / mud guards and the interior/exterior protection package ... being done tomorrow. I installed the preordered husky floormats and the lloyd cargo liner. First thing I did upon leaving the dealer was embark on a get aquainted journey of 244 miles. drove from southwest Virginia to White Sulfur Springs , WVA. journey terrain turned out to be along the lines of:... 70 miles of interstate @ 63 mph, 50 miles thru jefferson national forest @ 45 mph, 50 miles of mountain terrain ( 4 or 5 fairly steep grades) at climb and decend speeds and 70 miles of 55mph 2 lane roads .... car drove GREAT !!!! Great handling and getting aquainted with the EV mode was rather easy after all the help i have received by reading this forum's numerous posts. I got 44.8 mpg for the total trip. i'll post a mpg pic that i took ...when i learn more about pic postg. i thought my car might have the new ev to 85 mph software installed, but no evidence to such. one big surprise was how much coasting charges the batteries .... surprisingly, i found great mpg was maintained at hwy speeds of 63 mph on eco cruise with decently charged batteries, but 65 mph and above was a mpg downer. I had a name all picked out before it's arrival, but after seeing it and driving it, the name did not do it justice, so the naming journey continues... sorry for the ramble, but i am "giddy" about this machine.

I got my VIN today along with projected delivery date of 8/5 13 ( ordered may 17, 2013). when I put my VIN into the "tracking" system found via this site ...in order to get my window sticker, i get a message that such VIN is not in their system. Anyone have any ideas what i need to do next to find window sticker and start tracking production and delivery. thanks so much....

on may 15, 2013 i placed a factory order for a new c-max sel with 302A option group. i have seen on some other forum posts that new owners are able to know the status of when their c-max production run is scheduled and when it it shipped. anyone know how I can tap into such info on my factory order? thanks in advance
