  1. I had the same problem. The cause was a broken weld inside the door. Ford fixed it twice, the second time replacing the entire door assembly. They honored my extended warranty and then paid the $100 deductible when I refused to pay for what is clearly a manufacturing defect. I would urge all owners to let the car sit for a few hours with the front seat windows down, as this is what made the problem apparent. And you are right to worry about the general construction quality of the rest of the car. Welds shouldn't simply break. That is a basic amperage setting, whether done by robotics or a human. Keep me posted.
  2. I have exactly the same problem, but only on the driver's side. Ford is clueless; thank you for isolating the problem. This has been considered a warranty issue by my dealer so far, as the operator had nothing to do with it other than lowering the window for an extended period. If the windows cannot be safely lowered they shouldn't be on the car. Stay tuned, Hannah pipewriter
  3. My 2013 SEL liftgate works fine in all modes (key fob, dashboard, foot sensor and gate sill pushbutton) but after I spend a few seconds standing almost completely still under it when open, something tells it to close and it bangs me in the head. Well, not real hard but still it is annoying. Usually happens when I am just standing there doing something in the cargo area, not moving my feet at all. The dealer says there is no sensitivity adjustment for the kick motion sensors. Anyone else experiencing this? Any fixes besides wearing my helmet? Thanks!
  4. Looks like the checks only go out to the original owners. I bought mine used in June. Hope he's spending my money wisely.
  5. the failure message I get is "Format." Some images load, most do not.
  6. Update: the Panoramic roofs are on back, back order. I ordered one through Safelite and it was covered under the glass provisions in my Farmer's auto coverage, but none are in stock anywhere in Denver. After about a month and a half, one was shipped from the manufacturer but it was already broken into pieces. Meanwhile, I am driving around with clear tape covering the holes and have pretty much forgotten about it. I'll let you know when anything changes.
  7. One thing that makes a huge difference for me is including the Empower gauge on your left screen. That one includes what Ford calls the Threshold reading. It is a blue box around the power output that shows how hard you can step on the accelerator until the gasoline engine engages. It is dynamic, reflecting the state of battery charge. If you use that and try to keep your eyes off the rear view mirror, you can log fuel economy in the 70's for short periods. Once the battery runs down the threshold decreases and the gas engine engages, to power the car and recharge the battery. The other thing I do is engage the cruise control, even in street traffic. That eliminates even minute changes in velocity. Maybe this is why my wife and kids won't ride with me.
  8. Has anyone else had problems at the dealership downloading and installing this upgrade? My CMax has been in for a week (for a 24-minute process) and the dealer still can't get the file downloaded. Never mind installed.
  9. Just took two cracks in the glass roof of my CMax. Impact divots with long, long cracks. Could have been a highway rock (though I didn't hear it) or a hailstone (no other dents on the car). Has anyone had any experience with replacement or repair? I'm tempted to try one of the windshield repair operations rather than pony up deductible. Thx.
