By waiting till 2014-2015, you should have a few more options. The RAV4 is scheduled for a redesign for 2013-2014. I'm not sure what kind of changes are instore as far as drivetrain. There are rumors of a Prius redesign but I haven't heard anything as far as the engine. Honda has plans for the Fit platform to include a CUV. If you get a chance, look up Buick Encore..

We attended the Alabama International Auto Show over the weekend.. Of course I visited the Ford area, only to find no love for the C-Max.. They had one on display, but it was locked up and didn't have a window sticker. No brochures.. A few people were looking at it and I gave some brief information and showed a cell phone picture of mine. The star of the Ford area was the new Fusion. After my visit to Ford I slowly made my way to Toyota.. I asked about the Prius horsepower and got two different answers, 177 and 200. I couldn't hold my laughter in... I asked if they were sure.. After a good imitation of the Three Stooges, they returned with 134hp.. The regular Prius doesn't look too bad, but the V is one ugly whale. I was really impressed with the Chevy Volt rep. He had nothing but positive words for the C-Max. I was a little worried about getting buyers remorse while at the auto show, but that didn't happen.

Welcome to the C-Max family... The C-Max is very quiet in electric mode.. Tell your wife to be careful while cruising the shopping center parking lots.. I've had mine almost two months and I'm shocked at how many people have walked out in front of me..

Didn't think twice about battery replacement.. Some people like to get a new car every couple of years... If you are like that, I wouldn't worry about the battery.. In a few years, if I love my C-Max like i did my Element.. I will start putting a little bit of money into savings for battery replacement.. I don't know how much battery prices will drop...

Ten years of Honda ownership and now a Ford in the family.. I bought my C-Max out of state.. Since the purchase, I've bought floor mats and splash guards from my local dealer.. When I inquired about splash guard installation, I was informed that it wasn't "rocket science". My front driver door and front left quarter were misaligned. My local dealer told me that it could be within Fords guidelines and that they didn't know enough about the C-Max to do anything about it. Two weeks ago my a/c froze and I called the service department, only to be told that they were undermanned and it would 4 or 5 days before they could address an a/c issue. Never had this issue with any Honda service department. Is this typical of Ford service?

You can't beat the Element when it comes to pets or a messy wife.. Seven weeks later and I still mourn the passing of my beloved "Baby Hummer". If you crate your dogs, take your crate to the Ford dealer to see if it will fit.. During my car shopping process, I took two beach chairs and two suitcases with me to test each model that I was looking at. Also some dealers will let you do extended test drives.. After a few hours in a Nissan Juke, we decided it was too small. I understand your Honda Element guilt..

I miss my Element, but it had over 200,000 miles.. Small mechanical issues were slowly becoming big mechanical issues. I miss the all wheel drive, lack of carpet, and turning radius. My "Baby Hummer" made it through New Mexico dust storms, Colorado snow, hurricanes, and the tornados that we had April 2011. Even with the horrible gas mileage, I would take a new one in a heartbeat. However, the C-Max is a nice replacement.. We've already taken a beach trip and with the seats folded, it held all of our beach gear.. Handles well on wet roads..It's a lot quieter than the Honda..

Yea.... It only happens when the car has sat overnight and it doesn't happen every time... It's going to difficult to duplicate the issue at the dealer..

The fit/finish isn't that great on mine.. My front left quarter and driver door was not even close to being aligned.. Long Lewis in Birmingham said it wasn't aligned but probably within allowable Ford guidelines.. Took it back to Ford of Franklin TN and they fixed it.. I still have clear tape over drainage wholes..

Never use the e-brake.. I even had my wife to witness it.. I like my car, but I've had a few more issues than expected..

Has happened to me numerous times.. At first I thought it was maybe a user error.. But it's not.. The car shows that its ready to drive but when I push the gas, it acts like the emergency brake is on.
