  1. AS2014..... I think of us on this forum got our first oil change a lot earlier than 10,000 miles.. It's hard to break that "3000 mile" mentality. With a hybrid, the ICE(internal combustion engine) isn't used as much therefore eliminating the need for an oil change every 3k or 5k miles.
  2. Got mine updated yesterday.... Did an interstate test today...EV with higher MPH!= woohoo it worked!! I've done my best to avoid the interstate over the last 11 months.. However, It seems like ICE runs a lot rougher. Plus my car now seems underpowered when climbing the neighborhood hill.. About to make a beer run on a stretch of road where I always get 50MPG+.. So we will see what happens. Hope the update doesn't impact my city MPG negatively. CAPS or no caps? Honestly I don't care, but it did make the original post easier to read..
  3. Dropped mine off today for the MPG "update".. I've had a few issues with the 3.5..MFT update. I mentioned it to the service adviser and asked if they could go ahead update mine to V3.6. He told me that I already had the latest version.. I broke out the Ford letter related to 3.6 and was informed that a lot of people got those letters..The same adviser didn't understand military time, he thought my clock was messed up. I have no problem with DIY for V3.6... But since they already have the car... On a different note, new MPG stickers are on the C-Maxs at my local dealership.
  4. Canadians are getting a bigger check... http://life.nationalpost.com/2013/08/23/motor-mouth-ford-bragged-about-fuel-economy-in-a-car-it-didnt-even-test/
  5. The 47/47/47 on the C-Max's window sticker is based on results of testing on the Ford Fusion Hybrid. EPA labeling regulations allow vehicles with the same engine, transmission, and weight class to use the same fuel economy label value data. So Ford used the Fusions numbers without taking the difference in aerodynamics into consideration.
  6. I saw the article related to possible money... I want to see how they came up with those amounts.. Not much difference between a leased vehicle and a purchased vehicle.. Some of the issue relates to driving habits, but part of it is Ford playing the game and misleading consumers. I know mileage will vary..BUT 47hwy is NOT realistic... Driving almost 20MPH under the posted speed limit is not safe.. I'm tired of visiting the dealer for recalls and TSBs.. It's sad that EV+ comes up anytime I drive by my local dealer...
  7. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before I start receiving solicitations from lawyers.. I think will actually read them for a change... This will kill the possible trade in value for the C-Max.
  8. Thanks for the article.. The photos appear to be the European model.
  9. iPhone 5.. Hasn't happened again... I listen to a variety of music.. Luckily it was streaming a radio station and not Pandora/Spotify.
  10. After 11 months of ownership, I thought I had seen it all.. But yesterday while doing a hands free call, music started streaming from my phone... So I had a conversation and music coming from speakers. Anybody else experience this? Cass
  11. Now up to 3 in my neighborhood.. Two white, one ruby red.. Plus a ruby red hybrid Fusion. Not bad for one neighborhood.
  12. Be sure to keep us posted... The stop safely now can point to a variety of things.. I only got it one time and debated taking it to the dealer. Even though the message disappeared, my service department took the issue seriously. Supposedly Ford engineers got involved and worked on my car remotely.
  13. Did it say "stop safely now"? If so, that is a "catch all" type of error message. I received a "stop safely now" error in January while starting the car. Second attempt at starting the car and the error went away. I took it straight to the dealer and the diagnostic test showed an electric fault related to some type of safety feature that discharges the hybrid battery during a crash. My C-max was in the shop for 13 days before Ford was able to resolve the issue. I say take it to your service department...
  14. Hope your issue gets resolved.. Great video.. Some people are blaming MFT/SYNC issues on the consumer's inability to understand the product...Which we all know is not the case.. Since the 3.5.1 update, I disconnect from a call, go to stream music and the systems tells me "no Bluetooth device available..."
  15. I gotta go with the Porsche Panamera Hybrid. The Porsche Driving Experience host hotel is in my neighborhood.. Occasionally Hybrid Panameras and Cayennes can be found in the parking lot. 24 HWY for the Cayenne isn't bad. https://www.porschedriving.com/Default.aspx The only other hybrid we considered purchasing was the Lexus CT200H. I like my C-Max, but the fit/finish of the Lexus product is a lot better. Deal breaker for me, the CT200H's measly 134HP.. I don't know why Toyota isn't using the Camry Hybrid motor in the CT200H. Plus the window sticker had an add on related to tire life expectancy of only 18,000 miles.
  16. We now have a ruby red in my neighborhood. My wife was on the phone with me griping about some slow driver in a red car.. She then realized it was a C-Max.. My wife considers going the speed limit, going slow. I had met the guy a few days earlier.. So I knew who she was talking about. Very few C-Maxs in the Birmingham area.. This is F-150 country...
  17. Congrats on the C-Max.. If you upgrade the floor mats, skip the Ford all weather mats.. I waisted $$ on them. Go with WeatherTech. I'm not a WeatherTech employee.. just reflecting on the one mistake i made. Over 10 months of ownership.... So far so good..
  18. Any time the update is mentioned on the ford cmax Facebook page, it disappears... Strange......
  19. From Autoblog... http://www.autoblog.com/2013/07/16/ford-c-max-fusion-hybrid-fuel-mileage-improvements/ This has been posted under fuel mileage also... I'm looking forward to the update... Can't wait to try it on the interstate.
  20. Laurel... Model X is a Tesla product.. So no MFT to deal with.. http://www.teslamotors.com/modelx
  21. Like-high roofline Dislike-too narrow for people with a lot of junk in their "trunk"
  22. My teen years were spent in a 1982 Pontiac J2000 and 1985 Chrysler Laser.. Not the coolest cars, but easy on a teenager's wallet.
  23. The article mentions "design flaws". I'm curious as to what that means.. With the exception of drivetrain, the European Spec C-Max is just like ours. I haven't seen any negative articles related to the European C-Max.. Even with the few issues I've had, I wouldn't dissuade anyone fom buying one.. I just wish the car was a few inches wider. Great design for tall people, but not big butt people- I hope Ford brings over the B-Max..
  24. I haven't noticed an AC related buzz....But my AC did freeze up during a beach trip in October. That's never happened with any other car that I've owned.
  25. It looks like success with the upgrade is varying from dealer to dealer.. I ran into my service manager this morning and he mentioned the update, which I already knew about. So far my local dealer hasn't experienced any problems.. Next week I should hit 10K miles and plan to get the update during my 10K service..
