  1. Hi Doug, Thank you for the information about the batteries being in the same position as the same as the Prius, that is reassuring. Slampro, here is an article I read about the C-Max Grand in Europe, but I think they have more of a risk there (not because of a battery but because they have three rows in their C-Max) http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2011/02/has-the-time-come-for-rear-crash-testing/
  2. Hi, Does anyone have any information about the safety of a C-Max in a rear impact collision? What happens to the battery in a rear collision? Is there added risk to the back seat occupants? Is it going to come plowing into their backs? Just wondering if anyone has learned about the design of the car and how Ford has made it safe for a rear collision? Presently, it seems as though the only official tests are for front and side collisions. I'm worried about the risk of spinal cord injuries for my back seat passengers. Thanks for any insight you can give.
  3. Hi Jonatuna, Thank you that is awesome news! Really appreciate your help.
  4. Thank you very much Plus 3 Golfer. The information you provided was very helpful. They are still selling the hybrids up here in Canada. We test drove one yesterday. We wanted to go home and check the prices and they came running after us to knock another $1000 off the price, so they are definitely not following the US hold. And the hybrid were were looking at did not have the panoramic roof, so it is under the safety recall. Today when I went back to inquire about the Energi model they checked the system and told me that none were available at any dealership in Canada. But I will definitely call back and make sure the hold is not the issue. I have checked 25 online dealership sites and they have C-Max Hybrids but no C-Max Energi's. Does anyone know if this is the US experience right now as well? Thanks again.
  5. Hi All, I am new to the forum. I know that my question is not directly applicable to all of you C-Max Hybrid owners, but you seem like a very knowledgable bunch, so I am hoping someone can help me. I really want to purchase the C-Max Energi - I really like the Hybrid but the Energi will allow me to use the HOV lanes in Toronto and save me 30 minutes of commuting time a day. With the $5808 rebate from the province of Ontario and the 0% lease rate, the Energi is less than the regular hybrid ($437/month vs $485/month, Package 303A with Panoramic Roof, 48 months, 25,000 km/year). The big problem is that I cannot find one to buy, the dealer told me today that there are no C-Max Energi cars for sale anywhere in Canada. Is it a production problem? Does a person always have to order a C-Max Energi from the factory? I was told that if I order today I may get the car by November. The production update from Ford says 16 weeks http://www.donlen.co...-cars-ford.aspx I am not sure if I should call all the ford dealerships around me to see if they have any on order that might be coming in soon, and buy the C-Max Hybrid. Any help, advice would be great appreciated. Thank you!
