34 here. Bought Max when I was 31. My dad who is turning 65 just bought one as well.

I am headed back to my dealer for the 3rd time in the morning to attempt this upgrade and the MFT upgrade that have failed twice. Meeting with the service manager, shop foreman and service advisor to try to convince them why I don't think either update has been successfully installed. Taking lots on info from these forums of what others have seen after successful updates. The third time has to be the charm right?

For those who have the update available did you already have 3.5.1 installed? I have touch but no nav and don't show any updates available in syncmyride. The dealer has tried to upgrade to 3.5.1 twice but they just reinstalled 3.1.3 which was what was loaded when it was built in November.

For those of you who are having AC noises does your fan start as soon as your turn your vehicle on? For the first 6 months mine did and then when I got in last night nothing happened. Played with the settings, turned the speed up/down, floor vents, normal vents, defrost, etc, cycled the system on and off, nothing happened. Heard a sort of groaning sound in the background similar to the video in this post that got louder as I clicked fan speed up. Finally gave up after about a minute of nothing happening and turned the system off. A few minutes later decided to try again and it worked with no problem. Today when I get in the blower doesn't start for between 30-60 secods regardless of what buttons I push / settings I change. Anyone else have something similar?

The car doesn't remember the previous EV locations and the regen miles were reset but it will not switch to EV until 62 when I let it coast downhill on the highway with no major systems drawing power.

Despite the weight it performs pretty well with more aggressive driving but I cringe when I see how much lower the MPG is. Hopefully the PCM update will take care of that somewhat. I have really like the car during the first 6 months. I am now in the middle of a nightmare with my service department and 3.5.1 and the fuel efficiency upgrade not working but hope to have that resolved this week. I haven't seen many others C-Maxes around my area, maybe 3-4 in the entire time I have owned my car. When I was in florida recently I saw at least one each day while driving around.

Thanks for that info. I will have to check my work since I have only been there a couple of times since getting it back. I did note the dealer is now recognized as an EV+ location though :)

I have an SE with touch but not Nav. For those of you who don't have NAV but have had a successful update could you confirm which version syncmyride says you have? When the upgrade is successful I should have the new powerflow screen right? I took it to my dealer to have the update done but it looks like they didn't do it right as I don't have the powerflow screen that others say they have after the update. Syncmyride says the dealer installed the same version as was installed on my car on its build date and it also says that I have the most current version available and I wasn't able to download the version checker tool that I have seen others reference in posts. I am beyond frustrated with my dealer right now for this and a couple of other unresolved issues. Before my third trip to the service department this week I want to make sure I have as much information as possible of what others see, have experienced, etc to back up my case that I think something isn't working right with the upgrade.

Is there any other way to verfiy a successful upgrade than the ability to run in EV at speeds about 62-63? My dealer has tried to do the upgrade twice and swears they have successfully done the upgrade and tested it and everything is fine. I haven't been able to cruise on EV until I am at the magic number of 62-63 even when coasting with no ac, headlights, etc. I am headed back to the dealer this week when another part comes in and we are going to get this resolved but I was curious if there were an other changes that could easily be verified. I have now printed out a ton of information from this forum with people showng they could use EV in the 70s to show them what other people have experienced and hopefully convince them something isn't working right.

I completely agree with the OP. There is some great information here and I have learned quite a bit about my car from some of these posts.

Been lurking around this forum for quite a while and decided to join. Bought my C-Max SE with touch but not nav at the end of January. So far I have really enjoyed the vehicle and it has made me a much less agressive driver!
