  1. Apologies if this topic has already been started. I have received notice that there is a class action suit against Ford for issues with MyFordTouch for vehicles bought before August 9, 2013. Has anyone else received this? If so, are you planning on staying in or opting out? MF T is pretty awful, I have never been able to get it to recognize my voice commands, for one thing. I know if we win the case the attorneys are paid out of the settlement or by Ford, but what if it goes Ford's way? For the record I have a 2013 that I love, but this is one thing about it that's been a source of frustration.
  2. Here's a link to supplement one which adds coverage for C-MAX vehicles: http://allstatetrucks.com/images/Recalls/R12M02%2011%20thru%2013%20Models%20with%20Sync%20and%20MyFord%20Touch%20S1.pdf
  3. I drive a 2013 C-MAX Hybrid SEL with MFT / SYNC2 - v3.8. I recently noticed a problem related to selecting nearby POIs using the steering wheel controls. Specifically, when selecting POI categories on the dash, the list displayed is the same list of categories, and not a list of POI destinations. For example, when I select Fuel Stations, I get a brief "please wait" message and the display flips back to the category list. I never see the list of nearby fuel stations. This issue does not occur when using the MFT touch screen. According to (http://outofmytouch.com), this bug has been around as far back as September, 2013, almost THREE years ago from today. Is Ford currently supporting MFT and SYNC2? Will Ford support MFT & SYNC2 in the future? How do owners of MFT / SYNC2 vehicles get fixes to known and documented hardware and/or software issues?
  4. This today from OASIS. 2011-2016 Multiple Vehicles - SYNC GEN 2 MyFord/MyLincoln Touch v 3.8 And SYNC 3 - Siri Eyes Free Functional Issues Using Bluetooth And Apple iOS 9.2 And 9.2.1 Some 2011 thru 2016 Ford or Lincoln vehicles equipped with MyFord/MyLincoln touch and version 3.8 software or SYNC 3 may exhibit Siri Eyes Free not working over Bluetooth properly with iPhones using iOS 9.2 and 9.2.1 software. Ford is currently working with Apple on a resolution. As a workaround, plugging the iPhone into a USB port allows Siri Eyes Free to operate properly. Recommend that the customer have their iPhone plugged into a USB port to operate Siri. Plugging the iPhone in a USB port may cause Autoplay to start playing USB media. Autoplay can be disabled or enabled using the process in the Owner’s Manual or SYNC Supplemental Guide. Monitor OASIS for future updates.
  5. Posted yesterday on OASIS: Announcing Customer Satisfaction Program 15B32 - Supplement #1 DEMONSTRATION / DELIVERY HOLD - Customer Satisfaction Program 15B32 - Supplement #1: Certain 2015-2016 Model Year Vehicles Equipped with SYNC® with MyFord Touch™ / MyLincoln Touch™ - Traffic, Directions, and Information Application Update. 6. This today from OASIS: SSM 45215 - SYNC/MyFord And MyLincoln Touch - Navigation Displays Incorrect - Unable To Locate Vehicle - Built On Or Before 9/30/2014Some 2013-2015 vehicles equipped with SYNC and/or MyFord Touch, MyLincoln Touch and built on or before 9/30/2014 may exhibit a voice prompt indicating SYNC Services Traffic, Directions or Information (TDI) is unable to locate the vehicle. MyFord Touch equipped vehicles with navigation may also exhibit the vehicle location displayed off road from the current vehicle position, the last known vehicle location being displayed instead of current location, a screen message indicating a Navigation Fault. Reprogram the Global Positioning Satellite Module (GPSM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 96.02 or higher.
  7. This from OASIS today: Some 2013 C-Max and F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with MyFord Touch may exhibit a concern where the radio will not turn on, message saying SIRUS Update stuck at 0% status, CD will not eject with message saying - No Disk. To temporarily correct this condition, remove fuse 29 from the Body Control Module (BCM) on F-Super Duty and both fuse 67 and 79 on the C-Max for a minimum of 30 seconds to reset the Audio Control Module (ACM). A permanent software fix is being developed, continue to monitor oasis for updates.
  8. This today from OASIS: Apr 01 2014 4779 -2013-2014 Focus, Focus Electric, CMAX, CMAX Energi, Superduty, Fiesta - My Ford Touch - Frozen Or Delayed Update Of Radio Station Display Some customers with 2013-2014 Focus, Focus Electric, CMAX, CMAX Energi, F-Super Duty, and Fiesta vehicles equipped with My Ford Touch may exhibit an intermittent concern while changing radio stations where the screen display appears to freeze and does not display the updated frequency or channel, but the audio output does change. The screen may display the correct frequency or channel after a few minute delay. This may occur on FM, AM bands and/or Sirius channels. Do not attempt to resolve this condition. Engineering is working on a resolution which should be available 2nd Quarter 2014. Monitor OASIS for updates and continue to submit Global Concern Reports.
  9. I've had numerous problems with Sync connecting to my iphone 4 (version 6.1.3). Sync locks up (but works with other features) and won't connect to the phone one time and then the next time it will recognize the phone. Had the computer rebooted and updated software several times at the dealership. Recent problem is playing music from the iphone via bluetooth. It starts out fine, then "pauses" on the MFT screen, but continues to play on the iphone. I hit "play" on the MFT screen and it picks up the song where it is on the iphone, but constantly drops the bluetooth signal. The dealership wanted me to update to version 7 claiming to be a phone software issue, but I only have a 8gb on the phone and Verizon does not recommend updating to v7 for my phone. The iphone plays music great, so I honestly doubt that it is the problem. Haven't tried connecting via the USB, but several in this forum are recommending against that. I think the problem is with the MFT's bluetooth software. Any suggestions? I have about 2gb of music on my phone.

USB flash drives previously provided for FSA 11A02 and 11A03 will be titled SYNC. Select Extract. Confirm USB flash drive contents. Select the USB flash drive located under My Computer. A folder named SyncMyRide and two files (autoinstall.lst and DONTINDX.msa) will be present on the USB flash drive; it's now ready for the Vehicle Software Install procedure. Vehicle Software Install This installation procedure may take up to 30 minutes. Remove any connected devices from the vehicle. Start engine. Engine must be running so the battery saver mode will not activate while performing this procedure. Place automatic transmission gear selector in Park. Manual transmission in neutral. Apply park brake on all vehicles. For vehicles equipped with Automatic Engine Idle Shutdown (AEIS), this feature must be disabled through the left hand instrument cluster display to have uninterrupted reprogramming. Does the vehicle have AEIS? No - Proceed to Step 6. Yes - Perform the following. Select Settings. Select Vehicle. Locate the Auto Engine Off setting and select Off. Allow the system to boot up and the home screen to appear on the Front Display Interface Module (FDIM). Install the USB flash drive into one of the vehicle's media hub USB ports. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 415-00. The reprogramming procedure will start automatically. The installation procedure may cause the system to reboot several times and/or cause the screen to go dark/blank for a period of time. This is normal. The USB flash drive must remain installed at all times during programming. When programming is complete, Installation Complete will appear on the screen. Press Ok and remove the USB flash drive from the USB port. WARRANTY STATUS:Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage IMPORTANT: Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool. Note: Topic title edited by poster.
  12. Looks like version 3.6 of MFT is coming in August. http://fordtechlane.com/new-myford-touch-upgrade-to-be-released-in-august-2013/ I would expect a similar update scenario as 3.5.1 since the FE update is also supposed to come out in August. I couldn't find any word on what the update will bring. My guess is just bug fixes.

  14. When using the touch screen for multi-step input, something more than to just change the radio station, I prefer to use a stylus. I have mounted a stylus above the screen below the opening for the disk. Easy and quick to grab, use, then replace. Doesn't fall off and doesn't rattle. I salvaged two super strength magnets from an old used brush from my Sonicare electric toothbrush and glued them with silicone rubber glue, but one fell off, so I switched to Duco glue. The stylus body is ferrous metal so it sticks to the magnets. Most stylus bodies are made of aluminum and don't stick, so be careful about choosing a stylus. This stylus is the BoxWave EverTouch Capacitive Stylus available from Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BUI76S/ref=oh_details_o09_s00_i03?ie=UTF8&psc=1 These magnets from Amazon would probably work just fine, or just search Amazon for "super magnet" http://www.amazon.com/Magnetics%C2%AE-Block-Package-Neodymium-Magnets/dp/B000UMK666/ref=sr_1_43?ie=UTF8&qid=1373635390&sr=8-43&keywords=super+magnets

  19. SSM 32273 - MyTouch Blank/Black Screen, Application Desktop.exe Error Message, Or System Reboot With Display Message Performing System Maintenance Some MyTouch equipped vehicles may exhibit a blank/black screen, Application Desktop.exe error message, or a system reboot with a screen display of Performing System Maintenance that occurs frequently. Unique characters stored in phonebook entries, or the phone's name, may be creating these condition. To restore system function, the customer’s phone must have all special characters/smiley face emoticons removed. Once all special characters/smiley face emoticons are removed from the phonebook and/or phone name, perform a Master Reset on the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM), then repair the phone to the system. Engineering is currently investigating this condition. Monitor OASIS for updates.
  20. SSM 32290 - 2013 F-Super Duty and C-Max equipped with MyFord Touch Radio Lock Up/Inoperable Some 2013 F-Super Duty and C-Max vehicles equipped with MyFord Touch may exhibit a concern where the radio will not turn on, message saying SIRUS Update stuck at 0% status, CD will not eject with message saying - No Disk.
  21. I've been on this 3.5.1 odyssey all week and I wanted to share my experience for others to consider before upgrading. I agree with others who have said that it seems to have fixed some random bugs. I didn't have nav problems before so I can't comment on that. But! It's taken me 4 days and 9+ hours at the dealership and my phone is still not being recognized consistently, my phonebook will not download and stay loaded, and I now have a lot of blips and tics in my sound system that were not there before. I got upgraded on Tuesday and the service took 5 hours. The tech said they have had problems with MFT consistently, so were not surprised. When I drove away I didn't notice that my iPhone 4s was not paired, so I tried in vain to do so myself. No dice. Went back on Wednesday, and they managed to pair it so off I drove. As soon as I powered down the car it would not recognize it again, and got bt errors from the console (not the phone, which reported that it was discoverable.) Returned on Thursday and they did a master reset, which did manage to pair the phone, so off I drove. I didn't realize that it did not/would not download my phonebook, which meant that I could not call from the car, only by using my hands on the phone. By Friday, they didn't have any info from Detroit on how to handle this, so they just shrugged and apologized. At this time I have a paired phone that can stream podcasts or music, but cannot be used to make or receive calls. The techs are stumped, they are aware of the many failure points, but are powerless to fix them until software engineering either does better testing or slows their releases down until they are stable. I'm pissed that I can't use my phone in the car (we have hands free laws here and they are very quick to ticket for this), and I'm no closer to an answer or a fix. They said they can't roll it back to the previous release, and I'm left hanging. So let the buyer beware before you are so anxious to get upgraded. I suppose if I was directed off course by a faulty nav system I'd be motivated to upgrade, but that was not my issue now or then. I wish I had just left well enough alone. Going to go back on Monday and try to sort this out once and for all, and planning to ride my bike all weekend, and not my car! Sorry for the rant; it's been a trying week.
  22. I jinxed myself. Well I never should have posted "good job Ford engineers" following my car's update yesterday, because now my phone won't sync or be recognized at all. Help? I have an iPhone 4s, bluetooth is turned on, and I've deleted the phone from the car's history to start fresh. When I attempt to add a new device, I keep getting the "timeout" message that no phone is found or is not discoverable. Dang you, Ford engineers! Has anyone else had this problem, or can anyone suggest something short of going back to the dealership? Grrrrrr...
  23. Good job, Ford engineers! I just got my car's MFT upgraded to 3.5.1 today, and it does seem to have fixed a few things: The very good news: 1. My streaming bluetooth now accurately picks artists and track names from my iPhone 4s. I didn't have to go into iTunes and delete random metadata, which is what a few others suggested worked for them. YAY! 2. Bluetooth controls now work from the entertainment console. I can stop, rewind, skip, etc. using the dash controls rather than with my hands on the phone. This is a huge improvement for me, as I listen almost exclusively to streaming podcasts or music in the car, and no longer need to operate my phone to do this. Hurray for safety! (Ford: if you're reading this, why not consider an enhancement to permit 30 second rewind from MFT controls, as Apple does natively? Pretty please?) The annoying, but easily fixed news: 3. The upgrade wiped out all my navigation history and destinations. Not unexpected, but a pain to program again. 4. As others noted, clock time was off by a random amount (not whole hours, but hours + minutes) The annoying and can't yet figure out how to fix it news: 5. My garage opener thingy that I finally got working no longer works. No idea why the upgrade would have affected this, or maybe it's just coincidence. Anybody else have trouble with this feature on their SEL? OM instructions not working for me.

  25. I took it for granted that everyone with MFT saw the Hybrid Drive display option in the center console, but haven't seen much discussion about it. I looked for information in the manual (hard copy and online) and haven't seen much in there about it either. Since I took delivery in March, I assume I have a 3.5.1 version of the system. Some pictures: My Ford Touch Start Screen: Hybrid Drive Info Screen - Opening Screen: Hybrid Drive Info Screen - Car at Idle Just started: Hybrid Drive Info Screen - Put the car into drive: Apologies in that I haven't figured out how to properly upload pictures that are acceptable. I'll work on that. One of the features in this display is it shows you in a graphical way when the ICE is providing power, when the electric batteries are supplying power, when the brakes are recharging, etc. I also like that it explains what elements in the system are drawing power.
