  1. Please share what cam you have, what you like and don't like about it.  I appreciate your input!

Sadly, here is a clip from my Garmin 20 (I bought mine for $249) that was taken on New Year's Day.  The Garmin is one of the 5 listed on the OP's article noted above, and does have a feature that senses shocks and immediately saves off the file at that point, and the camera also has a button on it to enable user to remove from mount and take still pics immediately.

As noted in the clip below, this model has GPS capability (many do these days, some don't) so it shows the coordinates and the road speed.

  2. Congrats!  Another thing to keep in mind is that the car only has 200 miles in that screenshot and getting 45.7 MPG is very good.  After a few thousand more miles your MPG will get even better, however it will be lessened a bit by the colder winter weather.

So wait until Spring when the weather warms up and with miles on the odometer and then the numbers should really look good.

  3. While on the Ford owner site looking at my VIN, below are the details that were shown for 14S21.  I've already had the 14E02 PCM reprogram done, and when they did that they added 14S21 to the Repair Order with status of 'Parts Not Yet Available' as expected.

  4. Got a voicemail today from the same Customer Service Rep that I talked with a couple weeks ago - she said that 14B03 group noted above completed their research on my VIN and approved the request, so they will be sending out a check soon but could be 4-6 weeks.  Would have been nice to get the check a couple months ago, but looks like progress is being made.

...and received the check via FEDEX today.

  5. Today a yellow wrench light came on.  It seems to be an intermittent light. The owner's manual says it is a Power Train Charge System Fault.

Have you run a VHR while the light is on?  It won't fix the issue but may provide a little more info.

  6. I contacted her (FordService) via PM on the Fusion Hybrid site, gave her my info and the rundown and she replied that the Fleet 800 number was the one to use, but instead of hitting '5' (I did that last week and left a detailed voicemail as asked and never heard back) to hit '3' then '1', then I hit '2', and got to a live person.  She looked up my name and there had already been a case opened based on my detailed voicemail from last week, but nobody ever called or emailed to tell me so.  So today I talked with a rep who was polite and said she would track it down, hopefully it's not the same song-n-dance as the OP above writes about!  She said she needed to have the 14B03 group research it and that she would get back with me... yeah it sucks that it got missed, but I have a case number and will have to wait for further word and then call them back if I don't hear anything.

  7. They really do not care. Sorry they turn a positive into a huge negative. Wish the rep that monitors this web site would step in and help!

  8. I still have no check. I was told by Ford that they would have no info until Oct 1st but I would receive a check. Now they want a copy of my sales contract to prove I purchased it in May 2014. I have emailed this info to Ford. Called the person that had given me a case number. She does not return my calls. This is nuts that I had to prove that I purchased in May since a) I had a recall done in May 2) I registered with Ford Touch site in May 3) I ran the Ford system check using sync in May. They are not so good at goodwill!, they have taken a positive and made a negative. I had emailed Ford when the Goodwill offer came out and have three emails assuring me I was shown as the registered owner and my address was correct in the system. Poor poor customer service.

Still no check for me either... so I sent email to Ford Customer Service on Sep 30, got the below:

My name is Aaron, I am from Ford`s Customer Relationship Center (CRC).  I have reviewed your email regarding your goodwill payment.

I am sorry you have not received your check as of yet.  Please contact our Ford Fleet department, as they are handling any issues or concerns regarding the goodwill payment checks.  Their phone number is 1-800-343-5338.

Thank you for contacting Ford Motor Company.

    ---------------------------

So I gave it some more time (saw post in a different thread where someone was told by Ford to give it another week), finally yesterday I called the above number for Ford Fleet... the first thing they say is if you are calling about the fuel economy issue, press 5.  That gives voicemail that says "please leave a detailed message and we will get back to you within one business day"... so I left the detailed message with my phone and email, but they must have long business days there as I haven't heard back from anyone.

  9. Depends on how you understand it, but carrying that assumption forward it sounds like we should then expect Ford to to continue to send rebate checks to anyone that ever buys a used C-Max that had originally qualified for the rebate in the first place. "Hey Ford, it's 2018 and I just bought a used 2013 C-Max. Where's my rebate check?" Where would the madness stop?

Back in June/July 2014 when they set the cutoff date, correct?

  10. I think that means if YOU owned a CMAX but had already sold it. You would then be the previous owner due the rebate because your sticker would have had the old MPG when you purchased it.

That could be, but seems ambiguous compared to just saying 'original' purchasers, whether they still owned the car or not.

  11. Read OP's post though -- he bought it used. Certified Used, but used none the less. I've seen nowhere on the interwebs where anyone who bought a C-Max used has gotten any payment.

"current and previous owners" -- wouldn't that mean that in order for there to be a 'previous' owner, the 'current' owner would have purchased it used?  Otherwise wouldn't Ford have just noted that 'original' owners were eligible?

  12. According to the Ford website, current and past owners will both get a check, see below.    I'm still waiting on a check for a Fusion Hybrid that I bought new but no longer have... 7 days left until the end of Sept so I guess mine and the OP's are going down to the wire.

    • Will I get a goodwill payment if I already sold my car?
Yes. We intend to provide goodwill payments to current and previous owners of the six affected vehicles.
    • When will I receive my check?
We will start issuing goodwill payments at the end of June and we anticipate all checks will be received by the end of September.

  13. I found the below on the Fusion Hybrid forum:

    REASON FOR THIS EMISSION RECALL

In some of the affected vehicles, the On-board Diagnostic (OBD-II) system may be inhibited when Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P24BC is set by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). When DTC P24BC is set, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) will not illuminate to alert the driver of a potential impact to vehicle emission control systems.

  14. You can go here to report a new road if its not already in there or if you see an error so it gets fixed on the next map update:

Thanks for the link - I bought an A5 card a couple months ago when they came out, however found that a road in Northern VA (Rt 7100 changed to Rt 286) changed names in August 2012, but on the A5 card it still has the old name - so I wonder if the cutoff date for generating that A5 version was a while ago?  Anyway, I checked the link above and in this case it now has been updated.

  15. I posted a topic on the FFH Forum with links to your work here so we can see how many FFH owners are interested. How tall are you thinking you'd make the lip for the FFH? It seems like our glovebox has a much shorter opening from top to bottom but is wider side-to-side. I'd think it would need to be pretty short to still allow you to reach over it to items inside. But yes I am interested in one for our Fusion. Thanks!

Here's a link to the FFH Forum topic

Here's a FFH forum user interested in two of them!  Will use that link and go from there, thanks,,,

  16. I, too, am considering one of the two C-Max cars. My question is The Energi will give you 20 miles on electric power only. Will the Hybrid be more like the Prius in that some gas is used at most times and you really do not get an electric only ride?, thanks

I had a Prius for over 120k miles, and I expect the C-Max hybrid will act in the same way, meaning that the below are the general guidelines for when electric and gas is used:

1 - Speeds under 62 MPH (for the C-Max, my Prius was 40) when additional power is not needed to attain the speed desired by the driver = electric only.

2 - Speeds over 62MPH = gas engine is on.

3 - Speed is under 62 MPH but additional power is needed to attain the speed desired by the driver = gas engine kicks in.

4 - Speed is under 62 MPH but high-voltage battery is low and needs charging = gas engine kicks in.

5 - Speed is under 62 MPH but engine's emissions system needs to heat up to maintain optimal temperature = gas engine kicks in.

6 - Other reasons that I can't think of or don't understand (others can contribute here) = gas engine kicks in.

The mix of the above under good driving conditions (conditions for EPA ratings are always very good) should yield the 47MPG as advertised on the sticker.

    Good luck!

ps - I think the speed for electric only on the Energi is 85MPH if I read another posting correctly.

  17. On a first year model launch, Ford holds the very first units produced until they can go over them carefully to insure they're OK before shipping.

And Ford has never had a "first-year model launch" in the past and thus figured that into the publicly-announced date of availability? Sorry doesn't fly with me, this sounds like talk from a salesman at a dealership, and there's a reason they tend to not be viewed very positively.
