I did. Seems like I may be the only one. I like the look. This is from my post on Plasti-dip on this site. I have an SEL so it's with fog lights and I have the white platinum color (hard to match) but, it might give you a clue. It's been over a year now and no chipping or pealing issues.

So easy it wasn't even funny.

Covering the grill openings won't work in the desert. At our temps in the 110-120 degree range, we actually need more air flow not less. This application only works in cold climates to keep the engine warm. Actually, mpgs have dropped off (34-35) now but will return (40s) when the temps go down in winter.

I would have done the same also except that the dealer only drilled the top two holes when they installed it. I thought long and hard about doing what you did but would have meant drilling a new hole into the front of the bumper. Hence the decision to go with a new unit that didn't require any drilling to the front part that shows, that way if I ever decide to be a rebel and go sans front license, no holes in the bumper.

Trust me the monsoonal rain isn't all it's cracked up to be. We normally get 3" a year and on Monday got 3" in an hour. Lot's of flooding. What do you think of the plasti-dipped fog lights?

The CMax crest is a custom badge by Gobadges.com. A lot of us Mini drivers have them. The plate holder is from skenedesign.com. Simple install, took all of 5 minutes and they even send you a drill bit. Taking out the dealer license bracket is a little harder but still easy enough.. It's held in with a push rivet and is best drilled out with a metal drill bit right through the center (actually the dealer could probably remove it for anyone during a service visit, if they didn't want to do it themselves). I will probably cover my holes in the grill with some automotive plastic clips that can be found at Lowes, Home Depot, True Value and Ace (60 cents each) but, placed some electrical tape there in the mean time and I think it looks just as good.

After having Minis for years, I decided to give the grill badges a try on our "MaxC". I lowered the front license plate (actually took off the dealer installed one and purchased a hidden one) so as to show off the front grill and be legal in CA. At first, thought they might be too large for the front of our CMax. Now I'm thinking I need one more. Had one special made.

Decided to try the PlastiDip. Most go for the Darth Vader look and black out areas and all usually look nice. I wanted more of the original concept look for the rather clunky looking fog lights and went for a White Knight approach. Really hard to match the tri-color pearl white but, it does look O.K. in person. I may try and do the front grill in the pearlizing overspray for more of a brushed chrome look. Best thing if I don't like it, off it comes.

No dealer will "laugh" or "kick" you out for a low ball offer or they wouldn't be in business very long. The "buy it now" price is a very old dealer trick. If you walk out, they stand the chance of losing you as a customer. I would believe most purchases are made on the spot. However, when they see you come back, it signals to them that you are willing to buy and will pull out a few other time tested devices. You will give them an offer and they will have you sit down and then waste a lot of time, going back and forth on a price, trying to get you to come up. To them time is money, money in their pocket. This is their business and you are probably making an emotional decision so the ball is in their court. Stick to your price but be a little flexible and remember ,just be satisfied/proud/happy with the deal you settle on. If things don't feel that way, walk out. Plenty of Ford dealers around. I once was bargaining for a deal and it came down to a difference of $50. The sales mgr. had the guts to ask me if I would let the car go over such a small amount and I immediately replied "are you willing to lose me as a customer over the same amount?"

The music was taken from my iTunes individually and all of the info carried over. On the smaller flash drives that work completely, I can search (by voice or on screen) by title, artist or album (i.e. if I say "play Let It Be") it asks if I want to play song or album and just say which. Really cool and bummed also.

I have tried this and had mixed results. I have a 128 gb Scandisk that a friend put on about 3000 tunes from ITunes. While it will play, the flash drive never fully loads (I have had it playing for an hour or so to test) and you cannot use the search (voice or otherwise) to look for specific titles. I tried removing about half, down to 1500 songs and still the same result. I have a few smaller flash drives, one with 350 songs and that one works fine. Might be best to have a few smaller drives than one big one so as to be able to use all of the MFT functions. Not sure what the breaking point is.
