  1. I am picking up my vehicle today, cannot wait.

Ashley has been very responsive when I sent her a message. At her end she could not see any stop ship so I am left wondering. I am not looking for tracking history like UPS and Fedex provide but you are right, on a $30,000+ purchase Ford can do better

  2. I was told that my car should arrive in the next day or two. I did open a case with Ford last week and they told me it was a rail car shortage. I mentioned that my dealer was told it was a stop ship. The Ford rep I talked to did not want to answer my question at all about whether there was a stop ship or not. The lack of information that flows from Ford to the dealer to their customers when a car is ordered is frustrating.

I had a delay in getting my car manufactured, no information why

My car shipped and then had a stop ship, no information why, no information on when it might be delivered

  3. My c-max shipped from Michigan on March 18th. It is now two full weeks later and my Ford dealership does not have it. What is crazy is they have no idea when it will arrive. UPS and Fedex can track packages to the day they will be delivered but Ford has no way to let a dealership know delivery day or even a ballpark. They do not even know where the car is right now. I am excited about getting the car but the wait is killing me. My wife and I hoped to take this car on a trip from upstate NY to South Carolina next Friday and that might not happen

  4. I started looking at the C-Max in December and ordered a 2014 SEL on January 3rd

    • Rub red
    • Panoramic Roof
    • Nav package
    • Hands free package

On January 27th my dealer told me the build date for the car was the week of February 24th

On February 18th my delaler told me the build date got moved to the week of March 11th

On the lot the dealer has 2013 SEL that is the same as the one I ordered except it is in black instead of red

Right now the 2013 is $685 cheaper but my guess is with some negotiation I can save even more by purchasing the 2013

So it really comes down to two choices:

    • 2014 in red, all the changes they put in the 2014 (better gas mileage? fix any problems found in 2013 model year?), pay more
    • 2013 in black, none of the changes made in the 2014 model year, pay less

Should $685 and immedate delivery of the car make up for the fact that I am not getting the newest model year?

What if I can drive the price difference to $1,000 or even higher?

    Your thoughts?

  5. I just posted this in the fuel mileage forum but I figured I would ask here as well. Ford said it was going to make several improvements to the 2014 model to raise gas mileage. Why is the EPA mileage on the 2014 model the same as the 2013?

    • It is really not any higher?
    • It really is higher but Ford is being cautious?
    • The testing methodology just not capture how the changes will improve gas mileage. In other words, real world mileage did increase over the 2013 model year, the EPA test cannot detect this?
  6. Back in the fall when Ford lowered the mileage on the 2013 C-Max to 45/40/43 (city/highway/combined) they made a big deal about improvements they were going to make to the 2014 model year to improve mileage. Here is the press release

    The list of improvements include:

    • New transmission gearing
    • New hood seal
    • Front and rear tire deflectors
    • A-Pillar moldings
    • Rear lift gate deflectors
    • New engine oil

The EPA mileage for the 2014 model year was just posted and it is still 45/40/43, what gives? Is the gas mileage truly the same? Is it improved but Ford is being cautious after what happened with the 2013 model?

  7. Can someone check something for me. I am on my iphone looking at fords website and it appears that mpg for the 2014 cmax was finally posted. Just a few days ago it was listed as TBD. If what I am seeing is correct the mileage did not change from the 2013 model, still 40/43/45. A browser on a smartphone is a bit tough to use so I may be wrong

  8. In my case I wanted a 2013 Ruby Red, 302A package, Panoramic sunroof. The closest dealer that had this exact car was 400 miles away. Decided to order a 2014 and the price was not much more

I just searched Sandy Springs Ford website and they show three 2014 C-Max SEs. I think these might be on order and are not on the lot. Here are the three VIN numbers listed

    1FADP5AU5EL501019
    1FADP5AU6EL500266
    1FADP5AU1EL501020

I searched the Ford ETIS site (http://www.etis.ford.com) on these VINs. All three come up as 2013 Ford C-Max's, not 2014. Not sure what Sandy Springs Ford is doing

  9. I ordered my 2014 C-Max through my local dealership on January 3rd

I went on Ford's website and ordered some car brochures and one arrived with a $750 savings coupon

The coupon though expires on March 8th

Any word yet on whether the 2014 C-Max Hybrid (not Energi) has gone into production yet?

I certainly want to take possession of my new car on or before March 8th to take advantage of the $750 savings

  10. I am about to order a 2014 C-Max SEL and would like to get it with the remote start. After reading a bit in the forums it seemed that there are two versions of this:

    • One installed at the factory that is tied in with the key fob that comes with the car
    • One installed by the dealer that comes with a separate fob

I would rather have one fob so is this still an item that can be installed at the factory?
