  1. I am picking up my vehicle today, cannot wait. Ashley has been very responsive when I sent her a message. At her end she could not see any stop ship so I am left wondering. I am not looking for tracking history like UPS and Fedex provide but you are right, on a $30,000+ purchase Ford can do better
  2. I was told that my car should arrive in the next day or two. I did open a case with Ford last week and they told me it was a rail car shortage. I mentioned that my dealer was told it was a stop ship. The Ford rep I talked to did not want to answer my question at all about whether there was a stop ship or not. The lack of information that flows from Ford to the dealer to their customers when a car is ordered is frustrating. I had a delay in getting my car manufactured, no information why My car shipped and then had a stop ship, no information why, no information on when it might be delivered
  3. Just found out from my dealer that there is a stop ship on the C-Max, no reason given. It could be days or weeks before my car ships
  4. My c-max shipped from Michigan on March 18th. It is now two full weeks later and my Ford dealership does not have it. What is crazy is they have no idea when it will arrive. UPS and Fedex can track packages to the day they will be delivered but Ford has no way to let a dealership know delivery day or even a ballpark. They do not even know where the car is right now. I am excited about getting the car but the wait is killing me. My wife and I hoped to take this car on a trip from upstate NY to South Carolina next Friday and that might not happen
  5. Order my 2014 red cmax with panoramic roof at the beginning of January. I think it was built two weeks ago, still waiting on delivery.
  6. Just before I ordered my 2014 I did check dealer inventories for a 2013 Red SEL with the options I wanted. The closest dealer to me that had the car was a 9 hour drive so I decided to order. Thanks for all the feedback. Since I hope to have the car for years to come, I will stick with waiting for the 2014 to get built and shipped
  7. The 2014 is priced at $30,822 The 2013 is priced at $30,137 How much lower do you think I can get the 2013 by negotiating with the dealer? Seems unlikely I can get them to cut 4 or 5 thousand off of the price but I may be wrong
  8. I started looking at the C-Max in December and ordered a 2014 SEL on January 3rd Rub redPanoramic RoofNav packageHands free packageOn January 27th my dealer told me the build date for the car was the week of February 24th On February 18th my delaler told me the build date got moved to the week of March 11th On the lot the dealer has 2013 SEL that is the same as the one I ordered except it is in black instead of red Right now the 2013 is $685 cheaper but my guess is with some negotiation I can save even more by purchasing the 2013 So it really comes down to two choices: 2014 in red, all the changes they put in the 2014 (better gas mileage? fix any problems found in 2013 model year?), pay more2013 in black, none of the changes made in the 2014 model year, pay lessShould $685 and immedate delivery of the car make up for the fact that I am not getting the newest model year? What if I can drive the price difference to $1,000 or even higher? Your thoughts?
  9. Finally got a build date, week of February 24th. According to my dealer, the wait was over panoramic roof glass. Not sure how long it takes between building and arriving on the dealers lot
  10. I just posted this in the fuel mileage forum but I figured I would ask here as well. Ford said it was going to make several improvements to the 2014 model to raise gas mileage. Why is the EPA mileage on the 2014 model the same as the 2013? It is really not any higher? It really is higher but Ford is being cautious? The testing methodology just not capture how the changes will improve gas mileage. In other words, real world mileage did increase over the 2013 model year, the EPA test cannot detect this?
  11. Back in the fall when Ford lowered the mileage on the 2013 C-Max to 45/40/43 (city/highway/combined) they made a big deal about improvements they were going to make to the 2014 model year to improve mileage. Here is the press release The list of improvements include: New transmission gearingNew hood sealFront and rear tire deflectorsA-Pillar moldingsRear lift gate deflectorsNew engine oilThe EPA mileage for the 2014 model year was just posted and it is still 45/40/43, what gives? Is the gas mileage truly the same? Is it improved but Ford is being cautious after what happened with the 2013 model?
  12. My dealer is the one who told me about sending off for literature in the hopes of getting a coupon for money off. Even with ordering exactly what I wanted, they are honoring the coupon. Of course the coupon is only good to March 4th so I am hoping that it makes it to my dealer by then
  13. Wow, ford made a big deal a few months back about the changes to the 2014 model to increase mpg What happened?
