  1. The "more Aston Martin-like" grille is not going away, but it is what it is moving toward.  If you look at the changes in the Fiesta and the Focus over the last year or so, you'll see what they mean.  Additionally, the C-Max is one of Ford's global designs, so aside from some specific EU/UK items, the design will be exactly the same in all global regions.

  2. 3M (or similar) Clear Bra is the only way to go.  It's pricey, but so worth it.  I used to own a MINI Cooper S, notorious for the upright nose, and typically riddled with pock marks after a few years of unprotected driving.  I had one put on when I purchased the car new, and it kept the front end pristine for 8 years, when I finally sold it.  It doesn't look like an add on at all, keeps the OEM look of the car, and doesn't cause any abrasion issues.

  3. I've got the weathertech mats in the passenger area of the car, and the OEM cargo area mat in the back.  The weathertech mats are very nice, and look very nice as well.  Well worth the price, in my opinion.  The mat in the back from Ford is not as high quality, but serves the purpose fine.  I think I'll probably eventually get a weathertech for back there as well.

  4. I think anyone wanting to get into the guts of their car and figure it out/work on it is cool, and more power to you.  I, however, would not waste the time and money changing the transmission fluid in this case.  CVT's are much different than traditional transmissions, and manufacturing tolerances are tighter than ever.  If you do it as a hobby, great.  If you're doing it to save your transmission, it's probably not necessary.

  5. Just adding my observations, I see the same thing in my car, wider gap on the passenger side.  I would agree that this seems to be normal - I actually asked the dealership to look into it on my first check and they said everything is as it should be.

  6. New poster here, but I've had my C-Max since late January of this year.  I think mileage is mostly a matter of what terrain you are driving through every day, but habits help as well.  My wife tells me I drive like an 80 year old now that my purpose in life is to get a new mileage record with each tank.  I don't think I'm that bad, but I do find myself sticking to speed limits in areas that normally I would drift above them.  I actually took a picture of my lifetime stats on my dashboard yesterday because I was trying to calculate the savings over the car I replaced (a 2012 Toyota Tacoma) and it says I have a lifetime average MPG of 44.5, which I guess is good compared to what the official numbers state.  I'm pumped right now because 100 miles into my current tank I'm at 52.3 MPG.  Again, I think that is more a result of my specific drive to work than anything else, but it sure beats the 18 MPG I was getting with the truck every day.

  7. I'm pretty sure that's because the miles to empty is calculated based on the average MPG, which changes all the time.  I've noticed that mine varies widely depending on how I'm driving at the time, but it's always just an estimate anyway, so I don't worry too much about it.

  8. I have a similar issue that the dealer has not been able to figure out yet either.  It sounds like the rear suspension is crashing, like something is unhinged, clanking around when I hit bumps in the road.  It creaks sometimes pretty loudly when I go over speed bumps as well.  I've checked underneath the car myself and can't find anything obvious that looks out of place.  It really bothers me and makes me question the quality of the car.  Otherwise I love it, but this is really bothersome and annoying.
