  1. The Ford Customer Service representative verified my address and said the 2nd goodwill check would be sent to me. I don't think the previous owner ever got the 1st goodwill check, but she said that the program was closed and they wouldn't be able to send that one to me (OK since I wasn't the owner when that program came out.)
  2. I called the Ford toll-free number and they verified that my C-Max would qualify for the good will payment. (Mine is a Certified used I bought in March). So, I think almost everyone qualifies...
  3. I purchased my 2013 C-Max as a Certified Used from a Ford dealer. Does anyone know if I will be eligible for the goodwill payment? My sticker said 44mpg I believe...
  4. Hi everybody, I'm thinking about options for an extended warranty on my 2013 C-Max SEL. We bought it in March, used, Ford Certified Pre-owned with 14,400 miles on it from a Ford dealer in the Sacramento area. http://www.ford.com/resources/ford/global/pdf/cpo/ford_program_brochure.pdf The Ford Certified Pre-Owned program extends the factory warranty from 3 yrs/36K to 4yrs/48K and also provides a 7yr/100K Limited PowerTrain warranty. I am in California, so I believe the Hybrid components warranty is 10yrs/150K. I'm trying to figure out exactly what an extended warranty (Ford ESP) would provide on my CPO vehicle, and if it is worth it. We do plan to keep this car for 7-10 years, but I will be putting lots of miles on it rather quickly. (120 mile round trip commute, 3x week and husband 70 miles 2x week). We already have 21000 miles on it. Questions - 1) Would the Ford ESP PremiumCare be covering all the "other items" not covered by the 7/100 PowerTrain warranty that I already have due to the CPO warranty? Would these be in effect between years 4-7 then (since the CPO manufacturer warranty ends at year 4, not year 3?) From what I can tell, if I were to purchase the equivalent to CPO Ford ESP PowerTrain warranty for 7/100K and $0 deductible, it would cost me $935 today. 2) Are there any discounted ESP rates if you already have the CPO (PowerTrain) warranty? I'm guessing not... (Edited to add - looks like Ford offers some kind of enhancement for CPO cars - to 8-9 yrs/125K. http://www.prweb.com/releases/2013/06/prweb10871964.htm I've got some calls in with Flood Ford and Anderson & Koch - the two I've seen referenced on this board - to see what quotes they give me.) I just don't want to waste money on something if we are already pretty adequately covered, but I want to understand exactly what we would have to cover during which time periods. Anyone else out there with a CPO C-Max who bought an ESP Plan?
  5. Hi everybody. This is now kind of an old thread, but hoping that there might be some interest in re-kindling this discussion. I have a new-to-me 2013 C-Max SEL. Love the car. We got it Ford Certified and it had 14,400 miles on it. We now have 20,000 miles on it and I've been struggling with this sound as well. I'm hearing 2 different things: 1) a buzzing sound when I get in the car (accessory mode starts up) before I turn on the ignition - I'm thinking this is the grill shutters moving? 2) a loud buzzing sound that starts when I turn on the ignition - very loud when the AC is turned on. If I turn the AC off, the sound goes away. I've brought my car to the dealer twice - the first time they claimed that they couldn't reproduce the sound (though I'm fairly sure they didn't try since they were pressed for time and had other things to resolve). The second time - they say that this is "normal" for a C-Max but they are going to order a new compressor shroud to try to dampen the sound. I have an appointment for Thursday for them to replace the shroud. I am not hopeful that it will help... Has anyone successfully identified the source of these sounds? Do all C-Maxes have these sounds? Has anyone actually made the sounds go away??
  6. Paul, can you elaborate on the changes between 2013 and 2014? What are the parts and what improvements are they supposed to make to mpg?
