  1. I have 1500 miles on my car, i am not a techy person, or fanatical about gas mileage but 600 miles out of 10 gallons of gas is 60 mpg. Not bad considering the only change in driving habit is slow starts and stops. The display shows 41.7, i guess thats lifetime since i do not reset anything, but actual calculation says 60 and not even broke in yet. I'm very pleased.
  2. My husband is a die hard Ford fan. I have always been very frugal in regards to car purchases and have had great success in buying slightly used vehicles and driving them forever. The last being a 98 park avenue I drove for 12 years. So when I decided I was going to buy a new car he really wanted me to go with a ford product. That was not on my short list, I was thinking Rav 4 or Hyundai Santa Fe, and then I saw a C-Max at church, it had a FORD emblem on it, interesting. So I began my investigation and narrowed it down to the C-Max se model for the following reasons. 1.) Great design, the car is well thought out. What I need, where I need it and none of what I don't. 2.) I wanted something easy to park and kind of fun to drive for a change, I got that with the C-Max. 3.) Comfort and functionality come first to me, the exceptional mileage is a bonus, as is pleasing hubby by buying FORD. All of my shopping and decision making was done online. Car was located and purchased through the internet. When we went to pick it up the salesman asked if we wanted to take it for a drive, my Husband said, "it's a ford isn't it? So straight to the paper signing we went.
  3. Thanks Zathrus and C-MaxSea, hopefully I can get my car in tomorrow to have battery checked out. Gas mileage improves every time i drive, this car has definitely changed my driving habits.
  4. I have had my Ruby Red C-Max for three weeks now. I found this forum after I went to get in my car yesterday and found the battery completely dead. So I would like to share some things about my experience so far. I will start by saying I want to really love this car. I am very pleased to be making 38 mpg considering I have not yet educated myself on how to get the max mileage on this car. This is my first new car in 25 years and my knowledge of hybrids is zero. So I know that the end result will be upwards of 38, that's fantastic in my opinion. Also the car is a blast to drive, has a very quality feel to it and is easy to park. Now for what has me uneasy. First thing is I travelled 220 miles from home to make this purchase. I saved several thousand dollars but not sure it will be worth it if I will have to depend on local dealership service extensively, and it is looking like that may be the case. I already have the musty odor that others are talking about and have had to use roadside assistance twice. The second day I owned the car, I believe it locked itself, I wish I could be 100 % certain, but I am not, anyway extra key, along with my purse was locked in as well. Roadside assistance was fantastic. Then yesterday battery completely dead when I went to start car from home in the garage. I have the se, no extras model. I will be taking it in tomorrow to have battery looked at and see about the dirty sock smell. I would certainly be more confident if I had actually purchased the car locally, anyone else have experience with this?
