  1. Great read here! One question, I'm probably overlooking it in the manual. But Ecodrive and cruise are the same thing? I keep bouncing back from page 184 to 171 and I believe it is. Thankfully my learning curve isn't as bad as others since this is my third hybrid. But, wow, this car is like a computer on wheels. The things it can do are awesome. I've learned from the Escape hybrid that a gentle touch is needed to keep the EV mode engaged. Not to mention the Escape was not meant to run in electric over 40 by itself anyway.I'm going to try the tricks listed here. I drove the C-max about 45 miles yesterday and I was seeing around 43mpg. In November we're going to N.C. for a vacation. It'll be interesting to see what it does on a long haul. We're going to Maine in about two weeks for vacation, I'm tempted to use it then. But I prefer it to have more miles on it first. Plus my Subaru will come in handy for some of the roads we'll be on. Anyway, hats off to all that gave this info. Very much appreciated!
  2. Not a bad idea. I'll be looking into that. I'll need to see what the laws are here. I never did aftermarket tint before.
  3. Picked it up 2 hours ago. Stopped at a park to take a couple pictures of it. Love this thing!

Thanks Jus-a-CMax. True, the Escape Hybrid never lived up to it's projected mpg. It had great potential though. Too bad they ditched it. I wasn't looking at the C-max at first either. I was looking at the Fusion Hybrid. I didn't care for the cramped feeling and so on a whim I asked for the keys to a C-max they had there. The rest is history. In about two hours I'm leaving to pick her up. I'm going to miss our 2011 Escape, but it was used almost always for town driving and 15 mpg was getting old! Thanks for the welcome!
  5. I'll need to check which version I have in my C-max when I pick it up Monday, If it is A4 I'll be requesting it to be updated. Why spend close to 28,000.00 and not expect the most current revisions in your car?

Hi Nick, It depends on the weather. I'll drive the C-max pretty much three seasons. In the winter and bad weather it will be the CrossTrek. I drive 80 miles a day so we try to keep the miles even. We usually trade both vehicles off at the same time after 3 or 4 years. This is the first time in 15 years that both of our vehicles are not AWD. But, I couldn't help it, the C-max just called to me.
  7. I had a few issues with MFT on the 2011 Edge I had. I would have thought that by now they would have had the bugs worked out. What version number do you have?
  8. I decided on black for mine because the Escape we're trading in is/was sterling grey. Just wanted a change. It is a beautiful C-max you have!

Thanks Salsaguy. I'll do some reading on that soon. The only thing I'm a bit concerned with is the color I pickede. Black is a great color. Just a pain to keep looking good.

I see that. Thanks for the welcome!
  11. Rains here too? I'm a moderator on another Ford site and we get this all the time. Just keep weeding them out! This forum looks very nice and I'm happy to have found it.

Hi every one! I wanted to join up and see what everybody is saying about the C-max. I just purchased a 2014 C-max and it has been delivered to my local Ford dealership. I'll be getting pictures of it tomorrow. I got a 2014 SE Tuxedo black with charcoal black interior. I got equipment group 203A plus winter package, pwr/htd mirror w/approach lights, heated seats, remote start. I'm not a stranger to Hybrids. I had a 2006 Escape Hybrid. And I just bought a 2014 Subaru Hybrid Touring about a month ago. I'm signing my life away Monday for our new ride. I can't believe the difference in hybrids between the 2006 I had and the C-max. Talking about seamless in the start/stop sequences!
