  1. I had two dead batteries within a week.
  2. Amen, BullDurham! The problem is the car and Ford has acknowledged it. Ford should pay for a loaner from the dealer and wait out the business days required by your state's Lemon Law for a buyback. That's what I'm doing.
  3. I thought I read on this forum that someone here has a 2014 SE who had the same dead battery problem. I think it's too early to predict what the 2014 CMax will do. I have a 2013 SE and it's been at the dealer (repair) for 19 days now (business days) with no answer or solution from Ford. I'm counting the days because I'm going to pursue the IL Lemon Law. I was planning on buying a 2014 SE, but am hesitant when I start hearing things about dead batteries with them. I'm a single woman and this is my only car. I have a rental from the dealer. I can't be out trying to charge the battery, etc. I like to drive to Chicago once in a while and my car became unreliable and unsafe. I love my Cmax and am still not sure what I will buy next. If there's anyone who has had problems with their 2014 CMax SE, please let us know!
  4. Your dealer is not "up to snuff" on the dead battery problem with the 2013 CMax. I've been to two dealers now and neither one had heard about these problems. I knew more than they did (thanks to this forum!). The CA lemon law may say 3 times, but IL says 4 times into dealer without being fixed to qualify. I'm going for the 30 business days as my car just sits dead at the dealer. Ford will not give you any info whatsoever about lemon law rules or buybacks. We have to find that out on our own.
  5. Received my check today from Ford. Yahoo!!!
  6. I've been told the Ford engineers do not have the answer to the battery being drained. How could a mechanic at a dealer figure it out? I'm skeptical about anyone on this forum saying their 2013 CMax SE is fixed when there have been no recalls, etc. from Ford. Cowspotdog: IL state law says 4 times at the dealer without problem resolved or 30 BUSINESS days out of service qualifies for the Lemon Law. Why have you waited so long to start the procedure? You more than qualify right now.
  7. The problems with the 2013 Cmax have not been resolved. Your dealer was wrong. Ford has not come up with an answer yet. I know because I have one (built Nov. 8, 2012). Dead battery twice and now is in the garage probably for a long time. Starting buyback process soon.
  8. Take it in to your dealer and they will do an update on your car. Tell them you're unhappy with the mpg. It increased my mileage quite a bit.
  9. This is the 2nd time I've had a dead battery. No answers from Ford. I love my CMAX and am very upset this is happening. My car sits at my dealer (not where I bought it) which is close to me while I have a temporary loaner. I've asked the local rep to have Ford supply me a rental car, but no answer so far from her. This problem is supposed to be resolved by the 3rd quarter of this year (end of Sept.). So what do I do until then? My rep said to keep having it towed???? It's my only car. Do I have it towed 2 more times and proceed with the lemon law or start a buyback from Ford. Confused about all of this. PLEASE HELP!!
  10. I stated on July 1 that I found my Cmax dead and then yesterday when I went to my garage, the car was dead again. Had it towed and now it's sitting at the dealership. The Ford local rep is supposed to call me again tomorrow, but I don't think she'll have any answers. I LOVE my Cmax. My car was "born" on Nov. 8, 2012 and I understand this is the time frame for the problem cars. I purchased it Aug. of 2013 and no problems up until now. Has anyone found a surefire fix and/or remedy for the dead battery episodes?
  11. I purchased my Cmax last August and love it. However, this weekend my battery went dead. I have 8,500 miles on it. Dealer said they charged the battery and that Ford is aware of it and the rep is supposed to call me tomorrow. I'm very disappointed because this car was perfect for me. The dealer said it could happen again tomorrow or never! I'm pursuing this problem until it gets resolved!
  12. My 2013 CMax has 8,500 miles on it and last weekend I found my car "dead". First time battery was dead. Had it towed to dealer and they charged the battery but didn't find anything else wrong. The dealer said Ford's aware of this problem. Ford local rep calling me tomorrow. I love my car, but am sorry to hear all these problems with the battery.
  13. I called Ford about the decrease in mileage....they said to go in and have the updates installed on the car at the dealer. I did that and the mileage jumped up again but it's still not as high as I was getting. (49)
