Has anyone successfully added heated mirrors to an SE? Had to replace a mirror and got a deal on two heated mirrors. Heat or the puddle lamps aren't working. Lamps I don't really care, heated would be great!

Oh ok, well apparently the system is smarter than I give it credit for.

Something was obviously glitching somewhere, but I assumed it wouldn't even take the outdoor air into consideration. If you ask for heat... it sucks in whatever air is outside and warms/cools it to what you have it set at, based on an inside sensor and ramps the fan up/down as needed.

But hey learning something new!

The seats in my 2013  SE are pretty rough... wife was trying all sorts of pillows, supports, etc.   We finally broke down and got  Wet Okole covers with lumbar and seat heaters... it has solved all the comfort issues.  I was also considering what CBHarvest did... and go looking for a 14 SEL. 

stupid question... why would the outside temperature sensor have any bearing on the operation of the inside climate control?

It looks like the problem is fixed, but wouldn't the interior have its own sensor to monitor temperature for the auto setting?

has anyone successfully done this? ...modified the SE for SEL seats?

 

Cmax- 600 miles range 

I keep seeing people hitting 600 miles to a tank, how fast( slow) are you guys going?  I can maybe eek out 500 to the tank if you want to run it bone dry, but that is blitzing on the highway I suppose.

I have 4 of the OEM Michelin Engery Savers in 225/50-17 that I removed when I went to the Focus ST wheels and I replaced the OEMs with snow tires. So they are just sitting. I believe I removed them with about 22k miles or so on them and there was a lot of tread left and no weird wear, but I will double check on tread depth. 

One had a puncture repair, but it was center tread and internally patched.  If anyone is interested make me an offer for all 4

Would probably have to do local pickup in/around Cleveland Ohio.

yeah my rattle comes from the drivers side front tire area, definitely not interior. 

So far they pretty much have NOT been able to hear it... while I can hear it just rattling away.  No one has put any Chassis Ears on the car either, as the TSB states to do.  I love dealers! :love_shower:

The ST tires and wheels were pretty heavy...  michelin mxm4 in 245/40/18 on the ST wheels didn't seem much heavier than stock. Mileage changes have been negligible, steering is a little more weighty at speed, but I like it that way, it seems less "twitchy"

Mine has a rattle from the front left as well, under gentle braking in electric you can hear it clank around a little.  1st dealer couldn't hear it... its in a 2nd right now, for that and some other issues. 

I've compared a C-Max to a fit, literally side by side.  If the HRV is any larger than a fit... than the HRV has more cargo/space in general than a C-Max.  The fit is smaller  than my c-max, but the interior space is easily on par.  There is actually more usable room due to the magic seats, etc and no  "battery Hump".  And the fact that a fit is dirt simple compared to c-max, no 12v problems!... but that is another debate. 

For the ultimate in comparison, I give you the half Focus ST wheels in rado grey.

lol you get close to 50mpg with air or heat? I wish....  I can't get close to 40

Got to be someone who has put some larger wheels, either aftermarket or from the fusion/focus? 

 

 

I found the ES/AS to be a rather quiet tire approaching the limit, and the car's handling is neutral at that point, as FWD drivetrains go. Unfortunately, it's not possible to explore suspension behaviour at cornering limits in car's with RSC (roll stability control). The car intervenes when it senses the tires sliding, applying the brakes when the driver wants them least. It's the one thing I hate about my C-Max.

 

 

Could always just pull the fuse and give it a whirl? In fact, I may try that. 

Has anyone put Non-LRR tires on the c-max? I had a focus ses prior and while the stock Michelins seem OK for the application and 5/10's driving... these bad boys aren't up for spirited driving and go down howling in discontent as they understeer across the county line. 

I hadn't found the car all that bad handling, and it sits pretty low as it is.... if anything the LRR tires are really holding it back.

I was looking to add Sirius to my 2013 SE and it looks like the dash is the same from a 2013 escape. The escape has the sirius button and I would assume sirius is integrated into the actual radio unit... so I would install that as well. Is it going to bark at me because I installed an Escape radio into a C-Max?  Or possibly, would it still lock me out of sirius since the car was not "built" with the option. 

Was pulling out of the parking lot at work tonight and right in front of me a white SE. I waved as I pasted in the turn lane but the woman driving didn't look over.

Drove V and CMax back to back. The only item I thought was better than the Cmax was the cargo room... everything else was a distant 2nd. 

Hi all, was looking at a nice used SE with very low miles. Anyways, I live in Cleveland and currently have heated mirrors. This C-Max does not have heated mirrors as an option. Is it possible to add the heated glass and plug it into a harness with the defrost switch? I saw some heated glass panels on ebay.

If anyone has done it, or has some info, I would appreciate it! thanks
