  1. Thanks for the update Rebecca, but I find this strange as SMS works through the center MFT screen with 0 problems. These aren't Google Hangout chats (ie: chat protocol over a data connection) as I can confirm that those do not work, but they are SMS messages which have been integrated into Google Hangouts as of Android 4.4 as the default messaging service on Android phones. I temporarily switched back to the previous SMS client on the phone, but the issue still exists while using the right screen/controls on the steering wheel. I will have the dealer look at it when I eventually bring the car in during the first 12 months.
  2. I tried a master reset on the car, a reboot of my phone, clearing the cache and data from the app (Google Hangouts, but it resysncs some stuff based on my google account), and even calling my aunt! Still, no luck. I did, however narrow down the problem a little further - if I use the right toggles on the wheel to select "listen" from the right screen in front of me, I'm told to call my aunt. If I hit the "listen" button on the main MFT screen I get the proper message read to me... Its quite strange as I get new entries in my messages in MFT from my aunt as if she had texted me at the exact same time as someone else and using the steering wheel toggles, the car thinks it has 2 messages coming in (it gives a different option in the main screen when there are multiple messages). I'm going to try pairing a friends Nexus 4 on Monday and see if I can replicate the issue. Outside of that, I'm stumped short of calling in a priest (or throwing in the towel and going to the dealer).
  3. For the past week and a half, my 2014 SEL has latched onto a single text message that I received 6-8 months prior to purchasing the car and repeats it for every new text message coming in and pops an entry into the list of text messages for the old entry and the new entry (although it will never read the new message to you) This issue seems to have come up after 1.5 weeks of completely normal operation and I'm running shy of things to try short of fully resetting the entire MFT system to factory. So far I have: Unpaired/repaired my phone Cleared the offending message from my phone (Nexus 4) Power cycled the phone Deleted all messages from the phone and those in MFT Tried with my work Blackberry (still getting the same message from my Nexus 4... Leaning towards a MFT problem over the phone) Deleted my wife's paired iPhone 4s Has anyone experienced anything like this? It was working flawlessly for about 10 days and now its dead set on asking me to call my aunt for every message that I get... I looked at the device compatibility sheet and text messaging was not a "supported feature" for the Nexus 4, but damned if it wasn't working before!

I have only played with the remote start once so far (found a nice empty parking lot while test driving it and played with the key fob range and was blown away at the distance!). Normally the CMax will overnight in a semi-heated garage, but those -30C days are going to be pure ICE for a while hahaha. Even this morning at 8C, ICE was running for a while to get everything up to temp and I'm still pleased with the mpg on my commute. Who needs traction control?! :) One of the first things I wanted to try when test driving the CMax was how well it accelerated. I was quite impressed with what it was able to do for what it's packing under the hood - sure beats the Golf TDI that I was comparing against when searching for a new car!

Just drove home with my tuxedo black 2014 CMax SEL w/ 303a package, panoramic roof, exterior protection package and remote start last night, and I couldn't be happier :) Coming from a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3, the fuel consumption is virtually non-existent, there are a ton of features, and the ride is soooooo much more comfortable! I managed an average of 5.3L/100km (44 mpg) in a mix of city/highway on the drive home and 5.2l/100km (45mpg) on my commute to work using only 0.35l of gas with the heater on :wub2:. It's going to be a bit of a learning curve to hit some of the MPG numbers that you guys hit, but coming from a manual, stuff like the braking score are no problem - I haven't gone under 96% yet. The habit of reaching for a a clutch pedal and shifter or going to spool up a turbo on an on ramp is going to take some time to break though! I've been lurking on the forum for the past month picking up driving tips and CMax info up to my purchase and there is still so much to soak up! I think I may be one of the only Cmax drivers in my area as I have only seen 1 since I started watching for them a month ago and that was a fair distance from home. People don't know what they're missing!
