Sorry it took so long, had late (9:30pm) tennis last night and didn't get up until about an hour ago.

These are the "universal" Windshield size ones, cost about $10 and come in various colors/designs (for years in the Durango we used the silver ones, but I like these Florida looking ones even better, even if they *are* sideways :>).

I was going to do a video on how to do it but this is WAY cuter:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0AtG3L0kaAhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0AtG3L0kaA

(And I can do it in less than 1 second but I have a lot larger arms :>).

I'll have to make a run to Walmart.

  2. ... I would not be surprised if my great liberal state, CA, with its super majority liberals in the legilative branch & governor - we may be the 1st state to pass this..after all, Governor Moonbeam has to make up money for the bullet train to nowhere as his lasting legacy. *sigh*

I wouldn't be surprised to see GPS tracking pass soon in the super majority conservative legislative & governor of my state of Utah.

  3. Yeah, I tried yesterday and there's absolutely no way I can reach across Maximis to do this...

For now I'll stick with my spring loaded easily stowable one...

Spring loaded sun shade and easy to stow?!  Where did you get it?   I've got a fold up one that's a pain to stow as it's so think when folded up.

  4. When you fold them do you "attach" them to what you have folded.  IOW, do you just swipe them like curtains but then have some sort of "pinning" that keeps them from accidentally closing on you?

I like the concept but because the windshield is so large on the C-Max the biggest issue I can see is actually reaching over to that far passenger side (which I can't do now when I sit in the driver's side).  I guess for folks with longer arms or who don't have back issues it's no big deal, but I suspect that would be a deal breaker for me (I've actually hurt myself just trying to get into the glove compartment from the driver's side).

They come with mounts that attach to the windshield and they are spring loaded to keep themselves folded up.  You pull them together and there is velcro that gets them to bind together to close the sun out. Now that you mention it, reaching across the C-Max would be an issue.

    Powered sunshade would be awesome.

  5.

...Do they restrict vision much when closed ?

When they are folded up they're only about an inch width in size.  With the *huge* front window of the CMAX I doubt it'll be an issue and it never was for my Escape, Accord, or 626 back in the day. When they are first installed you'll know they are there but they never interfered with me being able to see in any of my previous cars I've used them.

  6. I got a good deal on my Energi, like others, I research a ton before buying and know what my trade-in is worth (if I'm doing one) and what a fair price is on the new.  I waffled between a Red SEL (303a) and the base Energi I did purchase, having not used a drop of gas in a week of commuting to/from work helps me think I made the right choice.

My "base" Energi is pretty loaded, everything on my list that I wanted --and a few things I didn't-- about the only thing I miss from my previous car is the backup camera.  The accent lighting in the cup holders has really come in handy at night and a bonus to have the lighting elsewhere.

  7. ....if we could get torque to run on sync as an app  and use the big honkin display for some good...

I'd love to see Torque as a SYNC app.  I have ordered a ODB sensor and I do have a 'droid tablet I could use but would rather not figure out a mounting spot and just use the big SYNC screen.

  8. I just found this in the manual:

"Trip Summary and Lifetime Summary: These will be displayed upon shutting off the vehicle. Trip Summary will appear first, then Lifetime Summary will be displayed. You can toggle between these displays using the up and down arrow keys on the left hand steering wheel controls."

    I hope this helps.

Weird, I don't think that worked on my 2014 Energi. Maybe I did left-right instead though, I'll be sure to try this tonight on my drive home from work.

  9. Brought home my new C-MAX tonight, took since Wednesday night to negotiate with the dealer to get it done.   :drop:

I'd been shopping to replace my 2007 Ford Escape with something with day-to-day cargo room and better MPG. I looked at Honda FIT, Prius, Mazda CX5, Subaru Crosstrek, and Ford Fiesta Titanium Hatch. Drove a FIT and really liked it, then went to try the Fiesta and walked past the C-MAX and the 40MPG/88MPG window sticker got my attention. The cargo room in the Energi is a bit of a concern, but with the back seats down there is more room than it looks. With the Ford incentives and all, I was able to get into the Energi for not much more than I wanted to spend. :yahoo:

  10. I use EcoCruise in the city, but still basically do what you say here -- I pay attention to the road ahead of me and if I need to accelerate, cruise or brake, I can just cancel the EcoCruise and take control. I'd rather do that than feather the pedal all day. I guess I do not aspire to be a C-Max Master  :worship:

I do the same thing, I've always used my CC in the city though, it's not new for me.  I've always gotten better MPG in all my cars by doing this.
