  1. https://cyanlabs.net/tutorials/update-ford-sync-3-2-2-3-0-to-version-3-4-all-years-3-4-19200/ You are welcome ?
  2. Ford Sync 3 APIM and Screen. Perfect for upgrading Sync 2 to Sync 3, upgrading from 4 to 8 inch or adding navigation to existing SYNC 3. This has to be programmed to your car to make sure all features of your car work. Currently on version 3.4 and latest maps that supports both Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Originally from a 2018 Ford Escape. There are plenty of tutorials online or you can pay someone for programming. This will work on Ford and lincoln vehicles with 8 inch screens and sync 2 or for 4 to 8 inch upgrade. Excellent condition. Included: 1. Sync 3 screen: GS7T-18B955-SB 2. Sync 3 APIM: JJ5T-14G370-ACC 3. Mounts from a Ford Escape. You can use the mounts from your current car. 4. Connector from the APIM to the screen. 5. GPS antenna. 6. Pigtail to connect from the existing hub to the new USB hub. 7. USB Hub that supports both android auto and apple carplay.
  3. Thank you Hot Potato! My wife has a 13 Escape with the Sony and I think it is marginally better than my base stereo. Do you think I should just install this: http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-KTP-445U-4-channel-Power-Amplifier/dp/B003VVYL46 I saw the unit from your thread. Would you recommend it? Also, what other things will I need to buy. Since you spent time with many installers do you have a ball park range that they should charge for this install?
  4. I have the base package and the stereo is lacking in both lows and highs! I am thinking of adding an external amp and replacing the door speakers. Dont want to add a sub. I don't want anything high end, just want some better sound. I have researched and haven't come across much on this topic so wanted to see if someone here has done anything. I know someone installed a sub under drivers seat and someone that installed a sub in the trunk. Does it interfere with the noise cancelling system?
  5. Here is what I did: http://fordcmaxenergiforum.com/topic/3994-upgraded-to-nav-and-it-is-almost-working-100/ it does work. Look for tv screen and then 8" display. Here are some results: http://www.car-part.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?userSearch=int&userPID=1000&userLocation=USA&userIMS=&userInterchange=%3EAFB&userSide=&userDate=2013&userDate2=2013&dbModel=27.51.1.1&userModel=Ford%20C-Max&dbPart=594.1&userPart=TV%20Screen%20%28see%20also%20Radio%20or%20Heater%2FAC%20Control%29&sessionID=200000000000000000881661867&userPreference=grade&userIntSelect=270828&userUID=0&userBroker=&iKey=&userPage=5 It has also been done on a Ford Escape: http://www.fordescape.org/forum/diy-garage/41362-successful-nav-upgrade-my-2013-fe-se.html Edit 2: Took a picture of my Energi with Nav: https://goo.gl/photos/4SkXuadqv8eCGZ4u5
  6. The best way is to go to car-part.com and look for screen for the CMAX. It usually comes with the APIM. Call around, ask the vin number and based on the vin confirm the car has navigation. Then buy the sd card from ebay. Shouldnt cost over $200
  7. Thats a SE. Mine is an Energi. Here are some that I saw on ebay with similiar mileage like mine. None of them have navigation, winter tires or trans replaced :): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-C-Max-2013-ENERGI-SEL-PREMIUM-ELECTRIC-HYBRID-LEATHER-/161901018223?forcerrptr=true&hash=item25b20d7c6f:g:rWYAAOSwbdpWWhBR&item=161901018223 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-C-Max-SEL-Plug-In-Hybrid-Electric-Vehicle-PHEV-CMAX-EV-Car-One-Owner-/201474544867?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2ee8d194e3:g:Oa4AAOSwt6ZWWLSB&item=201474544867 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-C-Max-1-Owner-Leather-Heated-Seats-New-Tires-Both-Keys-Books-/361411045840?forcerrptr=true&hash=item5425c6e9d0:g:A9AAAOSwI-BWJtV9&item=361411045840
  8. I would buy the extended warranty as soon as I get the car. Cannot take the risk anymore :)
  9. 76K on it now. Dropping the price $11K. Found a Ruby Red 2013 303A package with moonroof!!!
  10. I have the same thing going on with my car. However I got 75K miles on the original pads and rotors. Front pads seem to have about 60% life left and rears have 40%. I will try some spirited braking and hope this goes away. I know I am bringing up a thread that is over an year old and wanted to see what other members are seeing!
  11. Testing waters to see if I get any interest. About my CMAX: I bought it 4 months ago with 70K miles. It had a bad transmission that was replaced by Ford under warranty. I had a noisy fuel pump and it quietened out after putting seafoam in it. Also, I only have one key. I wanted to keep that clear. Reason for selling: I have the basic 300A package on the car. I have found and ordered an APIM from a 2013 CMAX SE with 203A package which I plan to install. If it works ok the car will have navigation. NAV WORKS :) I am used to Navigation/good stereos and other bells and whistles and am missing those in my car. I know its wants and not needs but I like driving and believe that it will be a better experience with the 302A or 303A package. Tires have 8/32 and the car is in excellent condition inside out. Non smoker. Grey exterior with black interior. My battery routinely gets me 5.4 to 5.6KW and I have seen it go up to 6.1 once. No accidents. Oil was religiously changed every 5-7K miles (overkill). Excellent shape inside out. One door ding that I can see. I will also include almost new winter tires mounted on steel rims with TPMS with the sale. Looking to sell for 11500. Do you guys think its a fair price? Pictures are from when I bought it! Its a lot cleaner now :)
  12. My build date was 11-7-2012. Bearing noise detected. Mostly highway miles. Got trans replaced at 70.5K miles under warranty.
  13. To add: I am reading more about the car on this forum and other forums where people have said it dies for no apparent reason. Is this something I need to worry about? My work commute is 10 miles each way so hoping to use EV for the most part. Once I am comfortable with the car I would consider it for road trips!
  14. So I have an uncle that has a dealership. I have always been intrigued by the CMAX Energi and saw how cheap they were used. So I bought a 2013 Energi with 70K miles that was a lease return sight unseen. I have been buying newer cars like this from the auction for 8 years so I know how the process works. Condition report at the auction shows that the car has no prior damage besides chips on the hood. Post sale inspection at the auction gave it a clean chit. Carfax shows all maintenance has been done on time at the dealership so I am hoping that would be ok. I have never sat or driven one. My last car was an 2006 Infiniti M35X. I don't expect this to be anything like my old car but should I expect a lot of problems. My wife drives 2013 Escape so I know the Microsoft woes. It will be delivered tomorrow. It was an impromptu buy so not sure what to expect. Are there are cues I should look for? Please coach me :)
