  1.  Thanks i was thinking of checking around to see if other ford dealers in the area had different pricing. Been checking out some you tube on changing it myself and will check in on that free trial version of ForScan. I think i'll be replacing the battery soon anyway one way or another. I do carry a jumper with me since everyone was has having issues just in case. thanks again i let you know how it turns out.

  2. I took my 2013 C-Max we have 43000 miles on her for oil change and got the works done at the ford dealer here where i live. i ask them to make sure to check the 12 volt battery since it's a 2013 build date 03/18/2013, so the battery being just over 6 years old. The C-max has a max battery with 100 months so theoretically it could have another 27 months of life in it. Now we never had any issues with the no start that a lot of people had with the 2013 model so I have been reluctant to change out the battery. So OK they said the battery failed the load test and that it was in caution range said battery voltage was 12.4 and that the crank amps was only at 214cca not the 390cca it's suppose to be. they said it was up to me if i wanted to have them change it out but said since it's still working ok  might want to wait.  they gave me price of 130.00 for new battery and 107.00 for instillation. Iv'e thought about replacing it myself i removed the cover in the rear seems straight forward but I've read here that could be a issue with resetting the battery for charging and not sure if it would be worth saving the extra 107.00 dollars doing it myself. One other thing the advisor at the ford dealer said the mechanic could finger out where the battery even was had to look it up i guess. so makes me a little skittish having them replace it. Any thoughts on this will be appreciated thanks John

  3. This just happened yesterday we were driving had a cd in all was fine my wife got a call on her phone which was connected through Bluetooth. I know when a call comes in the music will go down and when it rings through. when she accepted the call we couldn't hear anything it said the call was connected, they hung up and tried again answered still not hearing anything. So checking a few things the voice controls did nothing and we tried to change to fm station still no sound. anyway my wife she decides to disconnect her phone from Bluetooth so she could receive the call bam everything started working. Not sure it was directly related to the bluetooth or what the hiccup was but hope it doesn't happen again.

  4. I have a 2014 Cmax hybriD SE.  The Oil was changed after 9 months with only about 3000 miles on it on June 2015. I did this early because it was convenient as I had the car in the shop for other issues. Yesterday the Oil change light came on . This is definitely wrong. I was wondering whether I should just reset the warning light or bring the car to the shop in case there is a sensor problem .   Advise?

I would say that where you had your oil changed did not reset it. It should be ok to reset. And having only 3000 miles is way to soon to do a oil change I do mine at 10,000 miles the oil still looks good at the oil change. What oil did you use I believe most on here use full synthetic.

  5. Welcome to the C-Max forum, you will find out a lot of things from the people here some have done extensive testing  from how to get best miles to fixing just about every thing on your C-Max. And things you had no clue was even on the C-Max.  Enjoy

  6. Glad to see ford is going to keep the plant open That will be good for Michigan we don't need any more empty plants still it's sad that the C-Max  not being built here it's a  great car hope by moving it south of the boarder the quality does not suffer.  Was surprised to see them talking about bring the ranger back I thought it was also a low profit vehicle and that was why they stopped selling them in the states and where building them in India. I've owned two Rangers over the years always like them better then the full size trucks.

  7. There were some people when I told them we bought the C-Max hybrid they would say well what about the battery replacement. I told them why worry about it it's suppose to last life of car I think I read some where 8 years. But they would still say well then what will you do because of the cost, if the car other wise is in good shape which I believe it will be we will replace it. I think now the battery's are like 3200.00 by the end of life for our battery they will be available much cheaper I would think. In any case we plan on keeping our C-Max for a long time.

  8. On our 2013 SE you can barely hear it. When we had the rental Which was a 2015 Ford focus it was so loud we thought about not using it and using the old arm signals instead. So the turn signals maybe very on the cars. In some of our other cars the turn signal didn't always shut off my hearing not as good as it once was but my wife is there to make sure it's off with a comment our a punch in the arm. Lol

  9. And we can almost C-Max at the end of the long tunnel. I did like that saying just saying.  Well we got our C-Max back today it was like seeing and old friend. What a relief 52 days crazy, but all is good drove home Got 48.7mpg got to love this car. The service advisor I been

working with said that they didn't do a brake job but they resurfaced the rotors and scraped the pads because of it setting so long the rotors were rusted up pretty good and when they test drove it they were getting a lot of pulsing in the brakes.  one thing we lost our life time summery it went back to zero. wish I had made note of it so I would know what the EV and Regen were, Only know we had 26332 miles and life time mpg was 40.9 of course they were able to set the odometer correctly.  So for a cluster $583.00 and the rental 52 days at $30 per day maybe they get a weekly discount amount $1560.00 = 2143 plus labor taxes etc. Ford really should make there parts more available to there customers it would go along way in promoting Ford as a people company. But we've own several different brands of cars but I have to say I will stay a Ford person.

I wish to thank Megan ( Ford Service) with putting me in touch with Dan from CSM and especially everyone on this forum.  I would have loved to known about this forum when we first bought our C-Max it is very informative  and I think I have learned a lot about our car that I did not know and hoping to learn a lot more Thank you all John

  10. :rant2:We took ours in for 15B04 on June 30, 2015 they also did PCM reprograming was told it was going to take 11/2 to 2 hours. well after 5 hours they said that after the testing and updating software the system wouldn't load up.  gave us a rental said it would be done the next day.  Well he called the next morning some how they burned up our instrument cluster.  they said it would be covered under the 15B04 only they said that they were back ordered but they put it on there hot sheet. Now three weeks later I call to see what was up they said no word from ford as to when they can get a new instrument cluster and he said that now he doesn't expect to get it for at least 3 months. said that ford was doing some kind of change over. I said we really would like to get our C-Max back he said he has to keep it there till the part comes in. We never really had a issue with the battery should of left well enough alone. Even with the rental they gave us its not our C-Max only getting in the 30mpg range with the rental, when we get 42 to 48mpg with our C-max our summer is over. Will think twice before taking it in on these Customer Satisfaction programs next time if we ever get it back.      vancemi

Thanks for keeping us posted, John. I've updated your case notes, I see you've been in contact with your CSM.

Update 7 weeks, So we get good and some bad news ok Monday 17th service dept. called said my cluster was taken off back order and would be in Thursday.  Tuesday the 18th service dept. called they needed our second key to reprogram, the cluster it came in on Tuesday morning truck.  So drove up to the dealer which is 45 miles away on Tuesday . Should have it on Wednesday afternoon they called Wednesday afternoon they've been unable to program the keys so car won't start.  They were in contact with ford engineer possible software issue will call tomorrow Thursday (today). They called this morning they were finally able to get the programing done today after 3rd attempt but the wrench light is on and there no faults coming up. He said plan on 3:00 today for pickup in the meantime they decided to do my brakes for no cost not sure when they would normally be done we've got 26332 miles on the car but hey free brake job. They called at 3:00 not able to clear the wrench on the panel still no faults, working with there hotline to the engineers they will try for tomorrow but won't promise. And we can almost C-Max at the end of the long tunnel. Making progress it seems. The CSM handling this called today says he will keep the case open till we get the car back in our hands and satisfied. will let you know when we get her back.

  11. In fusion hybrid 2013 they goes down and up - in my brother's car. I thought that c-max and fusion have this same unit/module. In focus (Europe) they goes up and down. My c-max is from US (fusion to).

I understand that ford has three prints of 2013 C-Max manuals, In my manual on page 96 it says

GLOBAL OPENING: The ignition must be off and the accessory delay feature must not be activated to operate this feature. Note To disable this feature, contact your authorized dealer.  Press and hold the unlock button on the remote control to begin opening the windows. release the button once motion starts. The windows will continue opening. press the lock or unlock button on the remote control to stop motion.

  12. I know this was last posted to a year ago, but figure I'd post a recent experience:

Requested a bunch of e-prices from NJ dealerships. Liccardi Ford (in NJ) came in lowest with the $2,500 Ford incentives plus an additional $2,500+ off from the dealership (for a 2015 SE).  I had been looking at a red 2014 SE at a different dealership, but the other dealership wasn't as flexible with the price... and the red one didn't have the reverse sensors.

So, we got the 2015 Magnetic (with reverse sensors) for less than another dealership's 2014 red SE.  I really wanted a red one, but didn't think it was worth a couple thousand more for an older MY with fewer options. The salesman said that the Ford incentives didn't apply to the 2014's anymore... so it seems their 2014's would end up being more expensive than the 2015's.

You would think they would want to push the older cars apparently they like having cars that won't sell. Got to hand it to corporations how they think sometimes. Enjoy your new car

  13. I can open all windows but can not close them (door open button on the key). In Fussion hybrid 2013 i can open and close them. can i fix it??

Here in the states anyway the windows would go down but not up. Ford had fix to stop the windows from opening because the window's were accidentally being opened don't think they ever had a way for them to close not really sure why.

  14. Couldn't find exact fit on ebay, but found some other models for fords around 50.  I might go to a junk yard to see if anything fits.  I don't particularly care not having one, but in my neighborhood, you'll get a window busted if they can see a clean pair of socks in the backseat.  Odd the thing I'm going to buy to prevent this costs more than anything I ever keep in the car.

I was just on ebay and there is a cover on there says for 2013-2015 Ford c-max 85.00 or best offer looks just like mine except in black. It's in ebay's motor section.

  15. Congrats on the new C-Max they are a great car and ya when we bought ours in 2013 you never seen advertising. Did a lot of research online we wasn't sure if we even wanted a hybrid but when we test drove it we loved it and bought it that day. Your going to love it.

  16. The csm handling our case called today updating me. And said he will know something this week and got all info from my dealer will call me next Friday. Seems genuinely interested in getting our C max back to us soon. I see where there are four instrument cluster's on eBay under $100? A hurry is like want it today but over a month is a bit of a stretch yes we would love to have it back like yesterday.

  17. Not sure on lemon laws in Michigan either but you know don't really want it to come to that. Specially since it's a great car and other then this deal with the instrument cluster never have had any issues. So hoping they can come up with something soon. Besides what have they done with all the extra parts there's no way they just have no extra parts out there for the C-Max.

  18. ok as far as 15B04 everything updated, and the car and is ready to go once they get a instrument cluster. Well here's the latest on my C-Max. the ford regional rep called today to give me his contact info said he will give me updates weekly he has a meeting on Friday on this and will contact me either Friday or the following Monday sounds good right.. He did say there is a back order of the instrument cluster nation wide not good. About 15 minutes later the service manager where my c-max is, called me to say that as it stands today it will be another 3 months maybe. So that's putting into October not really feeling the love here. Was up in Kalamazoo on Thursday needed to go back to the rental place apparently each month we need to go in and redo paper work. So stopped at the dealer to get more info and get a few things out of the car of course the battery was dead setting there over a month. So sad seeing our car and not able to drive it home. John
