  1. Lol. You should have told the officer that you wanted a private person's arrest for vandalism and sent her to jail ;-)

As far as the parking ticket is concerned there's letter of the law and spirit of the law. He doesn't have to write the ticket just because she called and probably should not have in light of her writing on your car.

  2. From other MyTouch forums I've learned that it's related to the cataloging of the songs on your usb drive. My Ford Touch is really sensitive to the metadata embedded in each song. When one off the songs has something embedded (ie song title, artist, etc) that the system doesn't know what to do with (like a symbol in a song name) the cataloging fails and it switches to usb and starts playing a song from a usb source. The supposed fix is to check all the embedded metadata for each song which can be a real pain in the butt. I did it once and it fixed the problem. When the car would start the cataloging would successfully complete and the system wouldn't switch to usb. However the next time I added a bunch of song to my usb drive I didn't check the metadata for each song and the problem came back. I'm too lazy to fix it again. It's a poor implementation on Ford's part because most usb enabled devices are smart enough to just ignore metadata they don't understand and move on.

  3. In my opinion Ford designed and programmed the C-Max to maximize their results on the EPA test.  I have no doubt they can easily repeat the 47mpg result on the EPA test.  Unfortunately in real world driving it's much more difficult to hit.  I think if they had listed it with a 40mpg to 42mpg combined rating the entire mpg debacle could have been avoided and it wouldn't have tarnished the otherwise positive reviews the car has been getting.  In the 40 to 42mpg combined range it still would have been on par with the Prius V.

That being said I'd still buy the car again even at the 40mpg I average.  It's a fun car to drive and several reviews I've read  stated that it's driving characteristics are better than the Prius V despite the fuel economy debacle.   Would I rather get 47mpg than 40mpg sure.  But then again I've never owned a car that hit its EPA estimates and I had no reason to believe the CMax would either before I bought it.

  4. Nice, good job! My last tank was 524.6 though I forgot to check miles left. It was my third tank to 500+. I am confident now that you can safely run the miles to empty down to 0. I think how far past 0 depends on your driving habits. For me I think it would be 20 to 30 miles more when it reaches 0. If you're a zen driver like Jus-A-Cmax you can probably go another 100 miles :-)

  5. Because of the complexity of the MFT system I'm not optimistic that companies like Metra are going to come out with aftermarket options. They have produced options for the Focus but only the vehicles with the smaller 4.2" screen (non - MFT). I'm with you though, if they do make an interface module and install kit the MFT system is out of there. I think one of the biggest issues with an aftermarket interface module would be that it would have to handle the integration with the a/c system and not just the audio system.

  6. My doors creak also. It reminds me of the creak sounds you hear in the movies when wooden ships are on open seas. I suspect it's probably present on most cars as the metal frame flexes at the door openings. However the CMax is so quiet on the inside when driving in the city on electric that you can actually hear it.

  7. Yup the warm weather definitely helps.  My last tank was 518.3 miles using 12.53 gallons (according to computer) and pumped in 12.77 at the pump.  Using the pump reading and miles I averaged 40.6 mpg which happens to match my lifetime average after more than 9,000 miles.
