  1. Update.... added ground wire to my garage outlets. Recall Cord now recharges my car.
  2. Yes you are correct. I'm waiting to hear back from the dealership. From what Az said it matches perfectly with whats going on. My outlets did not have the ground wire installed, so charge fault tripped. And it appeared that the charge cord worked at the dealership. They really should have made the new cords no so damn finicky. The old cords didn't care about the ground ... or thermal protection... so always reliable until of course they catch my house on fire!?
  3. Turns out I'm missing the child lock on one of my doors. And my latches are definately part of the recall. As was my charge cord, although my transmission bushing passed (which I thought was an auto replace thing)
  4. I finally did the recall on my original 2013 CMAX Charge cord. And for the first time ever the car absolutely won't charge. Has anyone experienced this before? My first thought is that the new cord and my 2013 are incompatible (which sounds ridiculous). My car is also host to a number of electrical glitches that generally go away once I disconnect the computer.
  5. I want something 10% stiffer than stock. I have no idea what the stock springs are rated. I even called Ford and they told me that the specs aren't listed. Do the focus or fusion use the same springs?
  6. And officially the spring rates are too frigging high. My car handles great in the corners, but anything but a glass smooth ride turns my kidneys to hamburger meat. Eibach produces all kinds of spring that will fit, but I need to find the stock spring rate and decide where in the middle I want to meet. I'm considering 15% stiffer than stock, once I locate those figures.
  7. I just put godspeeds on my 2013, stock wheels/tires. Naturally the front sits exactly like your car, and the rear is a bit too low. I'm told that I have 4" of threading left in the rear, but they didn't want to raise the car any higher for fear of it not being safe for the tubing (like it'd collapse or something). Next week I'm taking it to a performance shop for an alignment, they will probably sort that out for me.
  8. If run my hand one way on the tire its smooth, if I run it the other way its slightly rough. This is the outer edge, I'm thinking this is the beginning stages of feathering. That might mean a bad strut? or swaybar link? or something? I tend to feel the passenger front being slightly bouncy on the freeway, and the car is slightly unstable on uneven surfaces.
  9. My commute is 28.5 miles home. Whats SOC and HVB and WT?
  10. I'm wondering how the CMAX calculates mileage. I just recorded a record 106.3 mpg on the way home from work. Previous was 98.1mpg. I'll do the GPS test. Even at 5%, that recalculates my best mpg from 106.3 to 100.99. So still a record :-) I definitely don't rub, not even with family in the car. In two weeks I'm taking a mini-vacation, we'll be loaded down. I can't envision any rubbing though. I was really tempted to buy 215/65/17 tires. The only real question is the distance between the tire and the front strut collars. Its pretty close now, and the 215/65 is another 12.8/16" taller. By my math the tire might touch. And even if it doesn't I'm not sure if I have to factor in any tire undulation. More to follow, so far these continentals are amazing in every way.
  11. I just put on Continental Cross Contact LX Sport 235/55/17. The ride is much smoother and handling is night and day better. MPG seems to be the same.
  12. Oh I had 3 recall things done to my cmax, I'll see if the brakes were one of them. Maybe they did something they didn't need to or shouldn't have.
  13. The 215/65/17 that I saw were 8/32 used, dirt cheap at $200.. and ... yes they are Michelin Energy AS tires, same kind as we all have on our CMAXs. I do want a slightly softer ride, but I don't want any rubbing. I'm also looking at 235/55/17 but I'll probably go with 215/50/17 I can get a brand new set for $450, I'll get someone to install later. I was rather surprised that the Michelin Energy AS has a lot of available tire sizes. The most extreme size I saw was a 225/65/17. I'm almost positive that will rub.
  14. I can't make my car reproduce this, but it happens once in a great while. I'm on the brakes, usually its soft on the brakes, and usually on rougher pavement. I'm braking and suddenly for a split second the brakes aren't brakeing and the car glides/surges forward. Its a weird feeling, then the brakes apply again and work fine. My fear is that its the ABS engaging when it shouldn't, like its sensing traction loss when there isn't, and that one day its going to do this when it shouldn't be and I'm going to run into someone. I could also just be weird :p Anyone else experience this?
  15. Looks like they are 2" taller than stock. I've heard of lower the cmax 2" on stock tires, but no idea if that'll cause any fitment issues. From the space in the wheel wells I think I'd be okay. It'll chop out 1" of space between the tire and wheel housing that I have today.
  16. I hauled half a dozen 8' 2x4"'s the other day, and last weekend I brought home a 4x8 trailer kit (completely in side the cmax). And the weekend before I had a built TV stand and 5' x 2' x 2' fit very nicely. I still get a kick that I had a trailer inside my cmax :p
  17. Be careful, if you order this cargo net using that part number you will get the 26 style cargo net, and not the 25 style cargo net. One is 30 x 7 inches, the other is 20 x 20 which looks and fits really funny on the cargo, its meant to attach just behind the rear seats on the top, and then on the metal loops. I think it also fits the non-energi's, but regardless it leaves 5 inches of gap on for things to fall out on either side of it. The 25 style is what I finally bought from a NOS seller on ebay. You can't seem to get it anywhere. Here's my finished results. Upper and lower net are OEM, upper net I added 2 bungee buddies and then used the metal loops in already in my car. I'm still thinking if I can drop it another inch so it brushes the upper trunk floor but I want to find a clean way to do it. It may stretch a tiny bit and the sag down over time so I might just leave it.
  18. muahahhaaha,.... I asked a half dozen sellers on ebay, another on amazon, contacted 2 ford dealerships. Ebay Item# 331733767650 This person has more than 1.
  19. I've got a cargo net but Ford swears you can't order it. Its about 32" x 7", its the lower cargo net. I want a second one so that I can install it on the top section, it would be a perfect fit once I install a pair of upper hooks for it. Has anyone ever ordered this net? Or have one they don't need? Or know where to get one about this size? I found one that's 90cm x 35cm, much too tall for my needs (think that's 13" tall... can't fit more than 10" max in mine. My c-max is the energy... raised area in the trunk is the extra batteries. I was following the other cargo net thread, but not finding what I want.
  20. Great Information. Thanks guys, this addresses all my current concerns.
  21. I recently purchased a 25k 2013 C-Max . I'm trying to understand the basics of using the EV. I guess the first question is why does my battery after my all day charge or my all night charge (I charge at home and then I charge at work, my commute is about 33 miles each way)... why do I sometimes get 21miles max, 23miles and this morning it showed 28miles available in EV mode. I would think that the capacity is computer controlled to prevent overcharging? Is 28miles charged going to cause a problem? Is it common for the gas cap to be very delayed in opening (last time I pressed it 3 times, and after 10 seconds I started looking in the owners manual to see what I was doing wrong)... at 15 seconds it popped open and I felt foolish. How common is it to get the Audio Off bug? It happened to me. Btw I've put 2000 miles on the car since I bought it, I love the car, and my current mpg is 69.5.
