Had my AM/FM antenna(rear roof area) stolen overnight on the road. Someone noticed, liked the antenna topper ball. I didn't notice loss until listening to AM, where normal stations could not be heard. It's a screw on, screw off piece. Thief thoughtfully screwed mine off, didn't break it off. Bought a Dorman replacement 76866 for under $15, plus shipping, handling on internet. Ford part 18813, not available last week on parts.ford.com. Standard 10" on multiple Ford models of multiple years. Other lengths/customized styles available on some websites. So far, reception seems fine.

Did Ford totally quit Sync 2 support?
bob61571 replied to Redshift's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Did online chat today on owner.ford.com. I have SYNC2 v 3.6 , since 2013. Per SYNC update page, nothing for me to do. Today, Chat assistant told me to ask dealership to update it to v 3.10. Said that I would have to discuss the cost w/the dealer. Anyone else had this? -

Had same thing...Radio couldn't change stations, couldn't change volume. Went to dealer. Service desk disconnected the 12 volt battery for 10 minutes. Problem solved!

Yes, Plus 3 Golfer, the Ford website shows me as current with V3.6 SYNC2. Shaay, should any Ford dealer be able to upgrade me to V3.8 , by using the 12M02 Ford Service Action?
-
My SYNC2 version is v3.6. I have the 12M02 Field Service Action listed for my 2013 C-Max. So, any Ford dealer should be able to upgrade me up to v3.8 at no charge?? Back when 12M02 first came out, dealership told me that it was a Warranty Extension and that they did not have to do anything. From reading above, the "Warranty Extension" info is now incorrect/modified. The dealership needs to read info on the 12M02, follow procedures to upgrade SYNC from v3.6 to v3.8?? Dealeship either updates the software, or upgrade the APIM?

Even the great-grandson of Henry Ford experienced problems with Ford's Sync From the 11 OCT 2016 ComputerWorld.com http://www.computerworld.com/article/3130067/car-tech/ford-engineer-called-myford-touch-infotainment-system-a-polished-turd.html Above article refers to articles in 7 OCT 2016 Detroit News http://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/ford/2016/10/06/myford-touch-system-suit/91704242/ and 30 SEP 2015 article in class action lawsuit for multiple states https://www.hbsslaw.com/uploads/case_downloads/myfordtouch/myfordtouch_hagens_berman_third_amended_complaint_redacted_.pdf

Ford Etis Website - Check It Out!
bob61571 replied to ArizonaEnergi's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
Dealer sent me postcard on 13A01. When I called, they didn't want to do the 13A01, because they said that it's not ready yet. -
12-Volt Battery TSB 5962 , or FSA 13A01
bob61571 replied to bob61571's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
Dealer tells me to wait on this 13A01 update, because it's not ready yet. They can't explain why they sent the postcard out. -
If you work at Cat Building AD in East Peoria, that is me. I have a sterling gray C-Max SE. I plan on leaving a contact note on your car, the next time that I see it. I just went over 10K miles, since I bought the car in mid October 2012.

I live in Washington, IL, and bought my Sterling Gray SE in late October 2012 from Heller El Paso. I see a blue C-Max Energi in my parking lot at Cat Bldg AD in East Peoria, bought from Mangold, Eureka. Saw a silver C-Max pulling into Bob's Ice Cream in Eureka on US24 on Monday May 27. Also, saw another Sterling Gray C-Max on Cat Trail IL-116 in East Peoria near Marina about 1 month back. But, that's about it in Central Illinois, after 10K miles. MPG is improving as the weather warms. Up to 34 MPG now, but can get 50 MPG plus driving in city driving.

Could be the 12 Volt battery problem See TSB 13-04-13 http://www.fordservicecontent.com/pubs/content/~WT/~MUS~LEN/3569/tsb13-04-13.pdf
