  1. My C-max is 7 years old and always started as expected. The other day it would not start and with a boost would start but would not stay running. A new battery was installed and the mechanic said that it was not charging and that I would need to have it towed to the dealership. Their diagnosis indicates that it needs a new DC/DC converter. Within Canada they could not source one. It has been ordered through USA. Has anyone else experienced this failure? How much did it cost to get back on the road again? Just wondering.
  2. I appreciate the 3 reply's discussing the gear fixture. However, I would still like for someone to comment who actually has towed with a C-Max essentially <1200 lbs. Have you noticed any transmission issues?
  3. I am thinking of purchasing an Aliner camper. It weighs approximately 1200 lbs. I would like to tow it with my C-Max hybrid. Can anyone with experience from towing with a c-Max give me any tips/suggestions? Obviously, Ford does not rate this vehicle for towing yet small cars can tow light trailers.
  4. Thank you for the many replies. I didn't realize that the fuel grade made such a difference. Here in Ontario we mainly have 10% ethanol in the low grade fuel. Problem is that here in Canada there is a 10 - 12 cent per litre difference in 87 grade vs. 91 grade which translates into approximately 50 cents per gallon difference. Any fuel economy increase with better fuel actually means I would pay more money than if I filled up with the 87 grade including the ethanol addition.
  5. I purchased my 2015 SE C-Max in late November 2015. I currently have close to 6000 km on it. I am averaging 5.8 L/100km and it is in winter driving conditions here in Canada. At what mileage (km) have you noticed an increased fuel efficiency due to break-in? I understand that temperature plays a big part but does it take up to 5,000 - 10,000 km to see enhanced economy?
  6. Thank you for the advice. I went and reset the fuel setting and now can have it showing under my driving habits. The car already had 400 km on it when I purchased it from the car lot.
  7. I have recently purchased a 2015 C-max hybrid SE. Never realized that driving a hybrid could be so fun. In each dash display option I see "6.1 L/100 km Average". My trip 1 and 2 displays 5.7 L/100 km and 5.5 L/100 km showing my current fuel economy. Does anyone know why the "6.1 L/100 km" shows as the average? Is this the rated overall combined average rating for this vehicle? Will it always display 6.1 L/100 km?
