  1. Hopefully this doesn't get too long.... We had a 2013 Cmax Hybrid gifted to us. Currently 112k miles. Good shape and worth fixing to us so we can give it to our daughter next year. The story of the car goes like this. The car was in the dealership where my father in law is the service manager. The car was in for "not going into park". The tech troubleshot the car and then parked it in their lot. Did not pull the ebrake. The car rolled and hit another car on the lot. The dealership paid the owners for the car and my FIL bought it from the dealership. It sat for 6 months and when my Audi died he said we could just have the Cmax. I picked it up and replaced both passenger doors and fender with matching panels from a junkyard. My FIL had the shop drop the engine / trans out after the accident by the tech and replace some gears from another trans they got from the junkyard. They did not replace the entire trans because that trans was cracked from an impact, but internal gears were good and that's all they used. They put the trans back in and after that it has a high pitch whine when ICE is running and especially when it's generating. Regen braking works. The sound changes with the RPMS. Sometimes it'll be very very loud, other times it's quieter but still there. Sound is not present at all when in EV mode. I looked through the three main TSBs and this noise doesn't seem to be a rumble or clunking. I'm very mechanically inclined but never have worked on a hybrid. I've learned a lot the last few weeks. Is there a DIY anywhere on dropping the engine/trans out? Does the expensive service manual contain procedures for dropping them out? I'm used to euro cars where there's tons of enthusiasts making DIY posts. I was getting confident watching a video on Youtube of a guy dropping out just the trans from the bottom in a Fusion Hybrid but quickly realized that won't happen in a Cmax when I popped the hood. Thanks!
  2. Hello all, Recently purchased a 2013 that was wrecked on the front fender and both doors. I'm in the process of trying to replace the fender with one from the junkyard. However. there's a bolt behind the front quarter window. I can't find any way to get to this bolt without taking this window out. Is there an easy way to remove this window? Thanks! FINALLY FIGURED OUT YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE INNER TRIM AND THERE ARE 4 8MM nuts.
