  1. I'm curious about this too. Need a little more base in my life.
  2. When we purchased my wife's 2016 Traverse, the MPG on the window sticker was "incorrect" (24MPG HWY vs supposed 22MPG HWY) and we were offered an extended warranty, or a $1,500 Gift card, we chose the latter and used it all up. Our real world MPG is 22.5MPG going 80+MPH to/from Disney world. It does get 25MPG @ 65MPH. Its AWD. As far as what i would expect for the My Touch system, Ford should offer 100% free life time software upgrades for the system (and failed hardware replacements), and require an update to improve performance (Weather hardware or software) issue recall or Customer Service Campaign to notify owners.
  3. I put tape over my top grill today, High of 15 Estimated for today. I think there was a difference, my WT was up to 170 this morning when i got to work, but only got 42mpg.
  4. I was considering a space heater in front of the car and one inside lol. I do think i will be buying the oil pan heater though. How long do you leave yours on for Paul?
  5. It was 9F this am, and my garage was much colder then usual because we didn't drive anywhere the last 2 days so i had a WT of 31F, ICE Fired up right away :( Considering the Oil Pan Heater at this point. Friday is a High of 12F. Brrrr
  6. My trips are usually only 14 miles. Park in garage at night, stays about 50F in there (insulated) unless it gets windy. Leaving work in the afternoon is bad, usually water temp is ambant. Unless I go out for lunch then it’s usually still above freezing when it’s 20F out.
  7. There are definitely moments where the ICE kicked on for what appears to be no reason. I haven’t been watching the battery temp but I’m sure it’s colder then the cabin temp. I feel like at temps that low the cooling can for the battery doesn’t run at all. I would think running it on low would help warm the battery from cabin air.
  8. I received one of these as well for my 13 escape we had. I’m planning on doing nothing and seeing what happens.
  9. The engineer who made the air filter box doesn’t talk to the guy who makes the glovebox and neither of them talk to the assembly engineer.
  10. Haha. I have the lower grill covered and the center is taped. Mileage is much better if I don’t use heat but I like my heat. Usually only set to 68. The battery drains fast when cold, it’s very noticeable. There’s about a mile stretch I drive on at 40mph and I can always make it when SOC is 54%+ but when it’s cold I only make it half as far on the same SOC. Is drains down to 42 very quickly and needs ICE for a bit to charge back up and then I continue on EV for the last bit.
  11. Its been about 14F here, only been getting 45 if i'm lucky
  12. I used to do that too, but got tired of it and got a scangauge haha. I did notice that when my WT said 231F it was one notch higher on the temp gauge in my view. Right now the Weather has been 32F in the morning, and 55+F during the day. Kind of all over the place, lol. My Typical driving the temp never gets about 180F. I was Curious at what temperate the fan would just default to On (hi/med/low). As i'm wondering if running at 230F would be running the fan and if that would cause extra drain(less efficient) vs just adding a small opening in the in the cover when doing longer drives being more efficient.
  13. Thanks for those details, good info. I’m not entirely convinced that temps that high won’t warp the head on the ICE, or head gasket issues. Does anyone know if there’s a set temperature where the cooling fans turn on?
  14. I'll find out in the next coming weeks when i have to travel up to PA again. Hopefully it will be cool enough for me to need heat lol
  15. I'm getting a little worried with my covers and the Water Temp. Getting up to 231F doing 70MPH on minor hills. It was only 50 out both times, no alarms or anything other then my own concern :) .
  16. From what I’ve seen on a FEH is the ice will spin at about 800RPM for 3 seconds and then shutdown with Stop Safely now. If this happens while driving I believe you have very little battery power to help you get off road. Maybe we need to hook up a switch to the fuel pump fuse and switch it off while driving? Lol
  17. Haha nice! Wonder if it was a joke or a disgruntled employee lol
  18. Today I had a couple trips with it being about 42F The WT got nice and high, had about 10 miles straight on highway and interstate doing about 65 mph. We got up to 230F. I had the heat at 72 recirculating. There was a gentle incline. At the top went into EV for a mile and went down to 213 for the next bit till I got off. Stayed above 180F the rest of the way with 45-55 zones and lights etc. Bottom grill cover, middle is taped, top is open.
  19. You could put some good packing tape on the middle and lower ones as a test to see, large difference for sure. It’s 30 out right now and I have to go on a 30 mile drive today, I’ll monitor my WT on my scan gauge.
  20. Been in the 40s and my mpg is 50 mpg. Using hear sparingly
  21. I got this same letter, as did my dad (both 2016) He got his completed already, took them about 2.5 hours. I have not gotten mine done yet. The only thing to note from my dad is that the car is relearning his driving habits, so its not a quick to get into ev. I've not had any problems yet, and i have 20k on it.
  22. I’ve recently loaded my car with a fair amount of weight and drove on a 4 hour drive through the mountains, still got 40.5mpg and It did fine. Trans temps were ‘normal’ and I could only notice braking there was more weight. Basically had to use friction all the time unless I had very long distance and the SOC always got to 60% or higher.
  23. I've been carrying one for a while and i've never needed it. Good insurance Policy.
