Tell 'em it happened in cold weather. They have no way of knowing if you jumped it yourself or called AAA. It ridiculous to think that you might get stranded if you were to take a trip to a cold weather area. Just my 2 cents worth.

Wrong bulb type for cargo area lights???
Bill-N replied to xanotos's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
Correct. Search the forums for "puddle". PS: I changed my cargo and puddle lights with LED's. The work just fine. But, unlike filament bulbs, LED's have polarity so try them first before putting everything back together. You may have to reverse them in the socket. In other words, you may need to remove the bulb and rotate it 180 degrees for it to work. -

Found this on YouTube: It's about scroll compressors and the noise made sure sounds like what I sometimes hear.

Per the shop manual (emphasis mine): Series ModeThe system operates in this mode when the engine is running and the vehicle is not moving. This is the preferred mode whenever the high voltage traction battery is charging, passenger compartment temperature control, high voltage traction battery temperature control or catalyst warm up is necessary.

I suspect most problems are due to dealer computer network shortcomings. Ford specifically notes that a hard-wired (i.e. non-wifi) connection is to be used to connect the in-shop workstations to the dealers network (and hence to the Ford servers). Apparently, the upgrade has to be done directly from Ford servers rather than download the upgrade to the dealership then update the vehicle. So any hiccup in the network connection, server overload, etc., will cause the whole process to fail. That's my surmise.

SSM 32308 - 2012-2013 C-Max/Focus/Fusion/MKZ Hybrid - Plug In Hybrid - Battery Electric Vehicles - A/C Compressor Noise - Low Refrigerant Charge Some 2012-2013 C-Max/Focus/Fusion/MKZ Hybrid/Plug In Hybrid and Battery Electric vehicles may exhibit excessive noise from the electric A/C compressor. A/C compressor noise in these vehicles may occur due to an incorrect refrigerant level or restriction in the system. Prior to following normal diagnostics for A/C compressor noise, check for refrigerant leaks and line restrictions. Repair as required per Workshop Manual, Section 412-00 then evaluate the system for noise. Typically, no additional service will be required after performing these repairs.

(Emphasis mine). Read the TSB's forum. This "upgrade" is NOT just for cars with navigation. As the saying goes, "been there, done that.".

The battery-won't-hold-a-charge TSB seems to help other folks but, as you say, it doesn't seem to fix all instances. Also, for whatever reason, SE's seem to be more vulnerable than SEL's. I'd get the TSB done asap.

WFIW, it's my understanding the the HV battery needs to be warmed-up for it to operate and that the engine is run for that purpose also.

Brake light lens -- bug in it!
Bill-N replied to Tom's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
And all this time I figured it was a lightning bug. -
Apparently not, in spite of each printing of the Owner's Manual stating otherwise. I was sadly disappointed that the 3.5.1 update did not "fix" this problem.
-
Correct, No SD card needed.
-
Just to be clear, the SEL does NOT necessarily include "park assist, panorama roof, kick lift gate and backup camera."
