Test drove 2018 CMAX Hybrid Titanium

As shown in your picture, the front bumper is really low so why Ford did not install a warning system for the front, I don't know. Shortly after I bought my 2015 SEL it came to my attention that curbs are not uniform in height, especially in downtown locations. That started my search for a skid guard. I saw some (don't remember where now) and it appears that attaching one would make the clearance even less. As I never buy new cars, I was not even aware of thew auto park option. I'll have to check if skid plates are available from them the next service. -

A couple of questions: Does it have warning sensors on the front bumper? Does it have Bumper Skid Plates on the front bumper? Other than these 2 items my 2015 SEL seems perfect. Dave Hill -
More questions than Gov security clearance. Then it apparently would not take my VIN. You would think that the VIN would be all that you would need.

The topic is 12V battery so here is my battery experience. Every year we go to Florida for 2 months. we have done this twice since we bought our 2015 C-MAX SEL Hybrid. We leave the max at home. This year when we came home I could not start the car. My immediate suspicion was the fob. I found the emergency key in the fob but could not get to the battery. Took it to the Ford dealer and they managed to change the fob battery after much difficulty. The car would not start. I tried all the little tricks with the fob on the steering column but no luck. Finally decided to jump it from my other car. Very simple process but I drove it a little bit to make sure it was charged. Have had no trouble since but I am curious. Are you saying that once I have jumped the car and started it, there is no need to run it at all? How long does it take the HV battery to charge the 12V? Why is there no information on battery maintenance in the manual? At least not any that I have found. Does it need water? Does it even use water and how does one get into it if they want to actually see the 12V battery. And one more thing, why is there not a simple switch that will start the car from the HV battery if the 12V is dead. I had that on a 2005 RV that I owned. If the chassis battery would not start the engine, you just pushed the ACC (house) bat switch and it never failed.

I bought a used 2015 SEL last Friday and still a bit behind the learning curve. The left display window was set up to show "Engage" and I had just about deciphered most of it when I decided to look at "Empower". I lost "Engage" and never did find "Empower". I have found vague references to "My View" but I have not found "My View". So, if someone could tell me how to get it back to "Engage" I would appreciate it. Seems to me that a knowledgeable person could make some money by writing a book along the lines of the "Missing Manual" series as the Owners Manual is almost useless. At least for me. Thanks Dave Hill

I am seeing more C-maxes on lots now that early leases are expiring and they are being sold to dealers at auction. Dave Hill

I am also shopping for a c-max. Where can I find what the 'packages' are. What is 302A and others? Dave Hill

I realize that this is an old post but if you are having problems with response from Ford (or anyone) just include the following , or a version of it in your complaint. I have (or will) notify (or notified) the Attorney General's Office, Dept of Consumer Affairs (or protection) in (your state). You would be surprised how people jump around when they hear from a state Attorney General. Dave Hill- 25 replies
