  1. The Energi does very well as a hybrid. I've been using my Energi almost exclusively for long distance trips and my MPGe is about 46 right now after more than 6000 miles in about two months of ownership. It also has plenty of cargo room for 1-2 people for trips. If you had kids in the back seat, I think either might be tough to get by for the cargo space.
  2. Wayne Gerdes at CleanMPG.com states that GasPods is a scam. Here's the thread: http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44775 Another thread on ecomodder.com on the topic: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthread.php/gas-pods-anyone-try-them-24057.html
  3. It's nice to know of someone without problems. Often, it seems like owners post problems and it seems like everyone is having a problem.l
  4. I like the navigation on the C-Max. Many cars won't let you set a destination while driving. I find this annoying as a passenger. I want to set the navigation. The Ford let's you do it. However, if you use the touch screen too much while the car is in motion, it does disable it and states "features have been disabled for your own safety" - or something like that.
  5. Is there an elevation change as Frank mentioned? It can make a big difference. It would be best to keep data on the roundtrip to rule out elevation as a factor. It would be interesting to see how much temperature affects mpg. It is interesting to see how much it varies though.
  6. Jus, are you still using premium fuel as stated in an earlier post? Does it improve mpg sufficiently to justify the somewhat higher price? I finally bought an Energi and have started experimenting with fuel efficiency. It's interesting to me that the EV miles are very large with some tanks, like yours with 833.8 miles. This also means that when you use gas, the mpg is quite low. Your 833.8 mile trip had just 13.32 mpg when excluding EV miles. The average is just 21.56 mpg when excluding EV miles for the 600+ club. With EV Later or the "plug-in" battery discharged, Energi owners should need similar if not identical methods to improve mpg. Anyway, I've read a lot of your posts and can finally start trying it out with my Energi. Thanks for the information. :)
  7. This isn't correct. My blog is misleading. I posted this blog in October but added other photos that would be useful to those investigating the panoramic sunroof yesterday. The dealer in Fairfield didn't just receive a shipment. That statement was from October, 2012. I'm changing the date back to the original publication date.
