Exactly where does the SD card reside? I can find no mention of it in the manual. The Ford site for navigation tells me I have the latest revision, but it does not mention A7 anywhere. Confused...

I'm about to buy a 2016 top of the line SEL with low mileage for under $20,000. Best deal as far as cars go and a good time to buy because Hybrid sales are down due to gas prices.
That seems like a very good price. Enjoy it!

As for the RAV 4 hybrid, my biggest issue is that it isn't really that fuel efficient, at only 34 city/31 highway -- particularly since it isn't that much larger or have any more power than the C-Max.
It certainly costs more!

My wife and I checked out a Kia Niro at a dealer before we bought our C-Max. Other than maybe a little more gas mileage, I think the C-Max is the better vehicle. YMMV

OK, I guess this is "interesting". My 2016 C-Max SEL with a build date of 11/2016 does not have the Eco Cruise option. It only has EV+, Traction Control, and Rear Park Aid options.
-
Exactly how do you get to Eco Cruise in the "left" menu? I don't see it on my display.
-
Thanks for the welcome. I really loved my diesels. There is no substitute for torque! :)

You've got it backwards. Heat kills batteries.
Frank
Most definitely. When I lived in CT my batteries lasted "forever". I often traded in a car before having to replace the battery. Here in AZ, 4 years max; most likely less than that. I buy batteries with 5 year guarantees now.

Well, at least it can find POIs. The Nav in my 2016 Jetta is so bad that the process to find a POI is to look it up on my phone and then enter the street address! :(
-
IMO, Eco cruise is okay but I couldn't live with the other conditions in EcoSelect just to get Eco Cruise.
I agree with you. I just hit the Eco Mode button if I am going to have cruise on for a while and then turn it off as I get off of the highway.

In my 16 there is a seperate option for ECO cruise in the left menu. However mine being on does not show the ECO icon when cruise control is on, however it does feel like it's being utilized (Ive only used it once)
I think the ECO mode forces ECO cruise on in addition. With ECO mode on I still didn't see ECO cruise icon.
I think I remember it being removed at some point.
I read the manual today, and as previously stated by 3 Plus Golfer, for non-Energi cars, Eco Cruise is part of Eco Mode. So if you want Eco Cruise, you must turn on Eco mode or else you get normal cruise.
There is also an EV+ mode activated in the left menu under settings. This will learn frequent destinations and keep the car in EV mode as you approach them. Apparently, this takes a few iterations (10?) of arriving at a destination in order to recognize and enable this feature.

So I drove our C-max today with the Eco Select switch off. Very noticeable increase in acceleration! I will try some comparison runs with it on and off and report back as to MPG and EV miles.

You need a new dealer. Like most things, there are good ones, and there are bad ones!

Excellent information guys... thx!

So, we have had our C-max for exactly 1 week today. We only have a couple of hundred miles on it, but we have done it all with the car set in "Eco" mode. I am wondering how you more experienced owners use that mode. Do you use it sometimes, at all times, or never (or almost never)?
-
Shouldn't be a problem - they lost a lot more on each EV1 they crushed! :stirpot:
(But I do hope they sell well - it looks like a very nice car.)
True, but they intend to sell a lot more Bolts than EV1s! I also wish them well, but for me, a hybrid just makes more sense at this point in time.
-
Good to hear guys! Thx

Its a shame that the oil filter is not located at the top of the engine like my Jetta. I use a "top-sider" oil extractor and never have to take off the engine pan or touch the oil pan bolt. easy-peasy

My car is all of a week old. Your story is not inspiring confidence in me! :headscratch:

I just read that GM is projecting a $9000 loss on each Bolt sold. Autoblog

New A7 map update

OK, that makes me feel better! I could not find the darn thing! My car does connect to my WiFi while it is in the garage and will auto-update itself. I know that "Sync3" was updated last week this way.
