  1. Hi both, thanks for your replies. Just to be clear, that range was without me running the HVAC, sound system, or anything extra. I learned something interesting about the battery and will post about it soon, just got to figure something out first...
  2. Hi there, I recently bought a used 2013 Energi, with 76 500 miles on it. I just did a range test on EV, driving on full battery to when the engine kicks in, minimal/no HVAC etc running. The trip was 13 miles; I got 11.5 EV miles, 3.8 regen miles, and it listed 3.4 kWh. Question 1 - is the kWh readout affected by temperature? I know the EV range will be, but wasn't sure about the battery kWh readout. It was cold out, about 32-41 F out. Question 2 - Did I just buy a lemon? Wondering if the battery is going to cause problems further down the line, or will it just continue to degrade and I'll lose some range? I will mostly be driving it on EV mode as I make short trips. Right now it works for my purposes, I get to where I want to go in EV mode, but wondering how long I might have this car before things really go wrong, with battery or anything else. Been reading all through the other posts about this, and got some good info, but it's a lot to take in, so thanks in advance for any help.
  3. I just bought a used 2013 C-Max Energi, but the EV Now mode gets me 10 miles/16 km only (should get me ~20 miles/33 km). It's currently around 48 F/9 C in day, and 36 F/2 C at night. The battery was replaced in 2022, said the owner. He said it was a 7.6 kwh battery. He sent me a screenshot of the purchase (from Best Hybrid Batteries), and now, only after buying the car, looking at the price on the screenshot, I'm realizing that he bought and installed the HEV battery and that it's is different than the PHEV one; it's 1.4 kwh, not the larger and more expensive PHEV battery 7.6 kwh. Apart from being upset by this revelation, is this bad for the car to have the wrong battery type? Any insights on this issue would be much appreciated. (I got an inspection before purchasing and asked for them to check the battery health, and they only checked the starter battery. What they did check - suspension, tires etc looks okay) PS It seems to charge to "full" but the charger always ends up saying power fault, flashing the red power outlet symbol by the end of the charging cycle.
