  1. Yeah electricity here cost .06¢/Kwh, and 90% of my commute is in the 20mi radius, so basically it will lower my fuel cost to nearly 0$ per week and I can charge it for free on a level2 at work. Also fuel cost is on a rising streak over here
  2. Am working at a dealership and we got a 2013 energi sel in a trade, and am thinking about trading my hybrid for it, mine is a 2013 hybrid se with 49000km (30247mi) and the energi have 102000km (62963mi) it's a sel with leather, roof and almost all options. Might have to pay 1000$ for it what you think??
  3. finally bought a set of 10K miles Michelin on OEM wheels, first full tank on summer tire, and it's getting warmer (lower 50'S) and did 42mpg, now am happier, but still find that the C-max is thirsty on the highway, is that normal that at 70mph am at two bar most of the time? do you guys have a trick on how to keep the cruising bar out of the yellow on the highway???
  4. yes as much as I can, sometime the ICE start, also my wife is a little less concern about mpg than me so when she take my car it hurts
  5. any one driving Continental PURE CONTACT on their C-max? about to pull the trigger on a set and am not sure between those and the Michelin? review are good, even better than the Michelin. any thought
  6. Thanks all for your inputs, put some homemade grille cover yesterday, sure it's gone help, also just find out that the max already have a block heater :D. nsteblay: I also found that the C-max offer best of both world, don't get me wrong, I love my max, am just a bit disappointed of my mpg right now, but am still learning how to drive it, once I figure it out, I'll get the max mpg out of it.
  7. No am not using the ice before I get in the car usually it's start and go. Sure my fuelly isn't accurate, since I've only had two fill-ups since I got the car. it's getting warmer up here and I can really see a difference, in two or three weeks I'll remove those winter rubber and put brand new LRR tire and am sure that too will make a difference. I'll try to block my middle grille too and leave it blocked for the summer as well. Not shooting for 60mpg but hope to get high 40's this summer.
  8. Thanks for the reply, fallowing JohnnOhio reply I shut the heater to off, before it was set to low, and I can see a difference. when you tell your mpg do you use the one on the instrument panel or your own calculation? cause my instrument panel says 36.2mpg, but if I use my fuelly app, am down to 32mpg... for sure next winter, I will have a engine block heater and cover the grill. are you guys run the grill cover even in summer? am sure on the long run I'll be able to get more mpg out of my C-max :)
  9. Hi all, I had my 2013 c-max since late January, and I am a bit disappointed. Seems like am not able to get more than low 30 mpg, I know it's cold outside here in Canada, and that I am on winter tire, but I was hoping for at least mid 30mpg in winter and low 40 in summer, not sure I'll be able to reach the 40's this summer. I am super slow on the throttle, and my brake score are always between 97-99%, also am not driving at speed more than 60mph on highway. Like today, I was coming home, engine was hot, I was in EV+ mode since I was close to home, battery 3/4 full. Why the hell is the engine running, should I be in EV mode??, is it that it was 17 degree Fahrenheit outside??. I was doing like 20mph and even if I left the throttle the engine kept running... thanks
  10. no did not have the block heater, but it's certainly on my purchase list, even if it looks like a pain to install.
  11. Thanks everyone, for now I am in love with my C-max :wub2: On my first tank, I did 32mpg, but it's freezing cold and don't have LRR tire, they put some Chinese winter on the car :nonono: up here state credit don't apply to used car, don't know if it's different down there?
  12. Hi, everyone, fantastic forum, thanks for the add. just bought a 2013 se to replaced my old jetta TDI, we would love to have the energi, but the 4k premium difference with the hybrid, makes it a no go, hope to get at least the same MPG as my old diesel, but a little cleaner on the planet.
  13. Hi all, just bought a 2013se c-max, and it will need new summer tire in spring, so I figure that maybe I will buy new wheels too, so I won't have to go to the garage every time it's winter tire season. looking at some wheels, and found some 17x8.5, they might fit, but am concern about my MPG lost with larger wheels, should I stick with 7 or 7,5 wide wheels?. also is anybody have put 16'' on their c-max, is that a good way to save some MPG? as for the tire should I go with narrower tires? witch LRR tire are the best right now, am looking at some continental pure contact, any review on these from c-max owner? regards
