  1. Not to threadjack, but do tell...
  2. Sounds akin to mine. I chocked it up to the normal operating noises of the atkinson cycle engine, especially on start up. Wonder if anyone DOESN'T have the same noises as ours seem to have...
  3. FWIW, I make an effort to turn OFF the headlights (never relying on the auto on/off function), audio system (started this habitually after the hard learned and known issue with battery drain necessitating a fuse pull when the system become unresponsive), climate and any/all interior lights & accessories. I've a 2013 SEL with original battery that seems to be holding up thus far, though, like others have said, a replacement is due simply due to age -- notwithstanding the forthcoming colder months.
  4. The ticking noise or the intermittent clunking/knocking noise?
  5. Thank you for the response, Kyle. Yes, it looks like a type of grey recycled material akin to upholstery batting. A shame that it seems mine has been removed. I've a right mind to give the stealership what-for due to royally screwing up this installation and prior services :rant2: Anyone know where I can get something similar to fill the space WITHOUT again removing the entire fender lining? -- it requires removing the wheel and I've not the tools for that job, hence the stealerships involvement prior. With the gap near the hood hinge, looks like something can be stuffed in there. I'm thinking maybe even a type of spray foam? I fear the main purpose of the insulation was for sound and that once I start hitting highway speeds the sound intrusion is going to be awful...
  6. 2013 SEL Back from the stealership today where they haphazardly installed a replacement passenger-side fender well lining; PO had damaged the original who knows how... After bringing it back home to correct the grossly negligent install mistakes, I noticed there is insulation in the drivers-side fender, but not in the passengers side -- it's COMPLETELY hollow. Did the shop, as I suspect, hastily rip out the insulation with the old fender lining and fail to replace it OR is there, by default, no insulation in the passenger side? This is observed by popping the hood and looking down into the fender gap where the hood hinge is located. EDIT: I would have provided pics, but it's now past sundown here...
  7. While not as severe as your symptoms, I've experienced similar wonk. Of note, fob not working reliably, hatch popping unlocked, but not opening the rest of the way or not closing -- audible "beep beep beep" indicating some lack of power or obstruction where none exists on an overall healthy vehicle. As a 2013 model, I know a replacement 12v battery is due and would likely resolve some of these issues. I did replace the fob coin-cell battery a couple months back and haven't yet had a recurring range/unlock issue, but the hatch issues remain. 12v replacement forthcoming.
  8. Be careful with the plastic that's now revealed -- it's quite soft. Mine was scratched by the plastic nozzle of a car wash vacuum and now I see it EVERY TIME I drive :gaah:
  9. The colored lines as pictured are not the lines that are intended to move with the steering. There are two WHITE lines that will show, flanking those colored lines, WHEN ENABLED via the control panel settings to the right of the speedometer or somewhere in the head units settings. Look there for the option and enable if desired.
