  1. doing a mix of both, mostly city with around 5 miles of hwy for my commute and then some extended weekend trips every 2nd or 3rd weekend ( 200miles hwy approx ). Really annoyed by the fact that I can not take any precautions as we really love the car and do not want to get rid of it however the anxiety of coming to a point where one has to reinvest 50% of the cars value is just crazy and seems stupid to be honest. Well I have until next august but it would almost be better if the tranny failed before that.
  2. Would there be any chance to get the transmission replaced by ford prior to a complete failure? I am still within the warranty of 8 years / 100k with my 2013 SEL and am undecided whether to get rid of the car. I imagine to sometimes hear a whining sound but other than that the car is perfectly fine and we appreciate it a lot. I thought about a transmission oil change at 76k to get the transmission oil testet for metal residues. Would that hold up at a ford dealer for replacement? Any other options you would recommend for minimizing the resk of a transmission failure of a 2013 model? Thanks a lot!
  3. Hey, I would like to change the fron control arms on our c-max and wanted to ask if there is any experience whether its more convenient to only change the bushings or the whole control arm? Thanks a lot!
  4. Can you confirm that he warranty of the ecvt is good for 8 years and 100000 miles? than I would still be under warranty. That would be a huge relief. I am now reading through the warranty guide again. sorry for hijacking this thread!
  5. I am literally dying right now. i thought I did my research and was sure that I have done so. Here in the forum was a thread that I read very thoroughly that provided the information regarding carb states extended warranty on electric parts. I need to find this now and understand the warranty of this car as it is still younger than 7 years and has 74000 miles on the clock. A transmission failure would be a financial nightmare for me. i will have to check this now. If there is anything leading me in the direction of help or resources this is appreciated!
  6. my transmission should still be under warranty. i have the 10 year 150000 mile CARB state luck. so maybe bring it to a ford dealer instead ?
  7. Honestly, this is 100% what mine sounds like. Not very loud but clearly noticeable whining in EV mode, mostly at around 20-40mpg ( at least this is what I hear). My initial thoughts were that the sound is related to the EV-powertrain ( never had a hybrid before except a 4-week Prius rental that did not make a sound like that). Should I be worried?
  8. our car does a slight "turbine" noise every time we accelerate. hence the question. it sounds hybridy though so we are not sure if its a problem.
  9. is there by any chance videos of the sounds a failing transmission makes? we did get a 2013 being aware that it has the problem but not to scared as we are still well covered by warranty but it would be great to know what to look (hear) for as we are still not very familiar with the car. thanks a lot!
  10. Hey, after some great help from the forum I managed to repair my driver door handle which was not working with the auto-open and auto-close feature. When tackling the job I found that inside of the door, one of the brackets which is holding the doors wires in place it detached from the actual wire-loom and hanging loose in the door. This was before I did the repair and I would like to fix it ( pictures attached ). As its incredibly hard to access the part through the small hole where the door handle is sitting I thought about removing the interior trim to work on the door. Does anyone know if that is possible or if there are additional things to consider which would be in the was? ( motors, metal sheets or glass? ) thanks a lot! regarding the pictures: even before repairing the door handle I saw that the yellow bracket in the pictures was not in place and the pink part was attached to the blue part of the wires without the yellow bracked in place. I got ahold of the bracket but the space I can work with is making it incredibly hard to attach the bracket back to the wire-connector without "loosing" it inside of the door, hence the question. thanks!!
  11. Yes, I should have been more precise. I am not complaining about the lighting situation in general, however, I would like to improve the color of the light. the C-MAX lights seem very amber compared to other headlights I know and I would prefer a more white light. thanks!
  12. Hey, we love our new cmax, however, it would be great if we could improve the headlight situation with LED bulbs. I figure I would need fitting LED bulbs and maybe resistors like these ones? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HB6EJ2A/?coliid=I1I6QP5X5HCL66&colid=3LMQV4CGO6G18&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it Are there any recommendations out there about quality value for money LEDs? the last posts I find are a couple of years old. Thanks a lot! philie
  13. Hey, every time when we get in the c-Max with one of our phones connected via Bluetooth it starts to play a song from the phone. this is super annoying. We did disable the autoplay feature in the Menu but it is still doing this. is there any way to stop the car from playing music once entering the car? the audio system needs to stay on as we use it for phone navigation, we just don’t want to hear music all the time we enter the car. thanks!
  14. This is what I ended up doing. Thanks for the repair manual links, very helpful!
  15. Does anyone of you know of an alternative to the recommended sonar polymer spray? i do not seem to get it around me and would love to finish the job over the weekend ? seems easy enough. thanks a lot!
