  1. I am sitting at my dealer waiting as the update is being done. More as I get it... I am really looking forward to some of the improvements... iPhone text compatibility, power flow screen, supposed "improved stability".

where did you see the statement that Iphone Text Compatibility? Have never seen anything about this, since Apple does not utilize the stock SMS protocol for text messages, it uses the proprietary Imessage protocol with is run off the data - either cellular or wi-fi and goes to a server farm that is run by Apple. Mine is still sitting at the dealer with the dashboard missing a lot of pierces so I can't see if it works

  2. Mine was built in Nov '12.  Fuelly is in my signature.  I live in Phoenix, AZ where it's going to be 106 tomorrow, so definitely be using A/C.  However for March/April, the weather is nice and doesn't require much HVAC.

was under the impression that the A/C was run off a electric motor so not sure how it would affect gas mileage as it does in normal cars. What am I missing

  3. I would clean it off, drop it, and move on. The time to complain was when the policeman was standing there, but you missed that in all the excitement. I would fantasize about painting "NO PARKING" in dayglow orange paint across her curb some dark night, though, but that would be wrong too.

I live right in between two very popular restaurants on either end of the block, on either side of my driveway is a No Parking sign, violators will be towed. About once a month I call the tow company to come get a car out of my driveway opening, the most recent was the last Friday, car was hooked and towed, owner could not pick it up unit this Tuesday, was a really expensive dinner for them - 300.00 tow charge, 100.00 a day storage, lot is not open on weekends or holidays. My job has me on call 7x24x365 and if I get called I have to get there as quickly as possible.

By the way to the OP - the ticket is the proof that the officer was there. He or she was negligent in not pursuing the damage to personal property, the witch had no right to do what she did. Around here if the property damage is more then 750.00 it is a Class D felony, if under 750 it is a Class B misdemeanor, in a lot of the cases a 2nd degree Tampering charge can also be filed a class A misdemeanor. Not sure what the laws are in your area though

  4. Somebody's finally listening?

Guess so -  Got a call from the dealership yesterday, they came over and picked up the car, leaving my a Mustang GT Convertible and are going to go over the vehicle from top to bottom, they promised that 3.5.1 will be installed, they will long term test the car and make sure that everything is working as it is supposed to. They requested as much information as possible, including the destinations that I use that result in the car being shown a mile and half off the road and other ones that show routing issues.

Dealer originally said that the car should be ready to be picked up by Friday but they just called me it will be at least Tuesday of next week. suspect they have found something. Meanwhile I get to play with the Mustang

  5. Crap, sorry to hear it, that is one bad luck car Wing   Did your Service Advisor even test the car with the new GPS module before handing it back to you?!?! Galpin had mine for like 3 days and at least 1 full day driving it all over the place to test my GPS.

It was tested worked for about 5 days then started putting me back in the middle of the river when I drive up the river road, at least the car thinks it is getting washed all the time

    [update]

Guess my incessant complaining about faulty systems finally got through. Just got a call from the dealership, they came over and picked up the car, leaving my a loaner (but s nice Mustang GT convertible) and are going to go over the vehicle from top to bottom, they promised that 3.5.1 will be installed, they will long term test the car and make sure that everything is working as it is supposed to. They requested as much information as possible, including the routes that I use that result in the car being shown a mile and half off the road and other ones that show routing issues.

Dealer said that the car should be ready to be picked up either Friday or Tuesday of next week with a full tank of gas and washed / waxed

  6. I am with Wingrider. Also the GPS module is the probable cause, mine performed well since the replacement.

However, this also means that 3.5.1 is not the solution to many of our GPS "driving in the house" issue. Phew glad Galpin replaced my GPS module

GPS sensor has been replaced, TSB has been installed and still getting the issue. Just got informed I am in line for a department car so this is pretty much a mute point for me now even if they finally do install the updated.

  7. I should also mention that this particular Ford dealership had ZERO C-Maxes on the lot. One of the salesmen told me they had sold a couple of them, but they were having a hard time getting them from Ford for some reason. Maybe demand is outstripping supply?

Must be related to dealership ranking, dealer I use had 7 on the lot, 3 with sold stickers and a truck pulled up with 4 more, don;t know what they had on the other 2 ford dealerships they own. will be hitting them up again on 3.5.1 on Tuesday and call ford IVT team again.

  8. YAY! YAY!   I just checked with my dealer and yes the 3.5.1 upgrade for my cmax purchased in Nov 2012 is ready.  He also told me that there is a re-program process for the rear lift gate hatch.  Got it scheduled and hoping this fixes the problem.   Also going to get a new A4 card for the Nav system  Here's hoping for the best

Dealer has Saturday service, just got back from them, no joy and mine was a early October acquisition with a build date of July

  9. Wing, I feel for you and imo, you have a lemon there but thats not to say that I or Laurel or others have lemons. Lemons exist in every car manufacturer. Even my 2004 Jaguar XJ8 was a lemon and that car cost us more than your and my CMax but we bought the additional coverage which saved our butt (Jaguar ate it big time) in the end but still in the end, we moved it on.

Now, as for redaction, I will redact personal attacks of one poster to another. However, say what you want about your car, call Ford names, call the CMax a POS if it makes you feel better. If you are daring me, go ahead - but don't attack any poster for their view points just as much as I don't expect them to attack you on your view point.

My Cmax could have been a lemon when we bought it, and if that happened, my wife and I agreed to move it on but luckily, its lived up to its reputation here.

Not challenging you on anything, also not worth the effort to attack another poster - although I will defend when I am attacked as I have in the past. sorry but calling is a POS is being nice and is not the language that I would use. I don;t look at this vehicle with rose colored glasses, the unit is faulty and I expect the manufacturer to step up and fix it. Going to start working this issue the best way that I know since it is useless to call the manufacturer and I am tied of begging for a permanent fix. As far as your jaguar goes - they always had a reputation of being a POS,  same as the MG-B and most british sponsored cars that came to the us. Mine has lived up to it's reputation also - as being a lemon, and have told numerous people that have asked me exactly that.

  10. You know if you're not happy with the car, just sell the damn thing, why put up with all the crap? As for redaction, as long as its not a personal attack on another poster, go ahead. Seriously, ever consider moving that CMax on if its causing all these issues...?

you willing to make up the difference is monetary loss I would incur if I trade this SDT in? Not willing to take a 12k financial hit on the car, Did not think so.  If I pay 33K plus for something I expect it to function correctly. I will bet you 100.00 that if I put my comments on this car in the exact terms that I am feeling you WILL redact it.

I am sick and tired of being told that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle and that there is no fixes coming down the line. It ranks right up there with the 3 greatest lies in the world.  Ford and most of their dealers are so far out of touch on this car that the the "special services support team" did not even know that there was supposed to be a divider in the front cup holder.

It took me 5 months to convince them that the piece actually existed and then it was pure luck that when I was in talking to their service specialist that 3 brand new cars where rolled off the deliver truck and they all had it in their glove box - the new car preparation people where throwing them away because they did not know where they went - Ford still has no idea what the part number for the piece is - and they designed it.

Bottom line I want a functional car that every option that I have performs correctly, no lock ups on the sync system, a working navigation system (tbs installed and new gps modules) and a myriad of other annoying faults that are tied to the faulty software release in the Pre-2013 manufactured vehicles - what is wrong with that?  Maybe I have more exacting standards.

  11. Lol, u always have a great sense of humor, wing   ok...time to retank and keep the holding pattern :salute:

Not a sense of humor - I don;t have one, more like reality, tired of being jerked around by ford. If I wanted to be jerked around with incompetence I would call my ex-wife. If I stated exactly how I felt the moderators would be right on top of it and redact the heck out of it. If I pay 33K plus for something I expect it to work correctly. as of right now it is not working correctly and there is no resolution from ford on the event horizon.

  12. UPDATE: As the OP, I am GLADLY and HAPPILY reporting my replacement GPS module s working 100%. There was initially a couple of rubber banding but in the 2 weeks I had the new GPS, its been rock solid. I seriously believe this GPS Nav issue is from a batch of bad GPS as those of us who had their GPS replaced, its working fine with our 3.1.3 PLUS there are some with 3.5.1 has the same issue Nav issue.

As such, my advice: if you got the Nav issue, take pictures of it and take it to your Ford Service Advisor and have them apply the TSB and check the GPS. Good luck :)

glad it worked for you, not here though

  13. Someone has to draw the C-Max versus a FFH for the new hybrid screen.  Beyond that there shouldn't be any changes....  But since 3.5.1 still is not available for the C-Max there must be another "issue" floating around out in bogus code land....

It has been reported that there is a software flaw in the PCM rom on the C-Max's that where built prior to 1/1/2013, ford is "working" on developing a software fix, it has been suggested and ignored that the best "fix" is to forklift the old pcm out and put one of the newer ones in since it is a dealer replaceable part

  14. I went to Fordparts.com a researched the elusive black plastic console thing and ceemax71 is right it doesn't show the part in their exploded assembly view of the center console.  However I did find this item which I think might be what I have in my hand.  Here is the description of the item I found...

    Price: $38.47
    Quantity:

Part Description: Charcoal Black, Rubber Cup Holder Insert

    Quantity Per Vehicle: 1
    Package Quantity: 1

May not be the item at all but 50/50 chance it is.  It probably is the rubber insert in the bottom of the cupholder which your cup rests on?

Here is all the info imprinted into the underside of my part...FoMoCo

                                                                                                   DJ54-S046C07

                                                                                                   >ABS<

                                                                                                   >PP+EPDM<

Up inside the the underside of the part is molded "B2"

The more I research this thing the crazier it seems that Ford has made this part so hard to identify.

If you match the part number to the exploded picture of the console that point at the actual cup holder, maybe it is a part that comes with it. have an appointment for service again in about an hour will talk to the service manager about it

    [EDIT]

    Follow up

Both part numbers are not it, on DJ54-S046C07 the parts guy suspects it is a engineering number, nothing is listed for it. The other item for 38.47 is the insert at the bottom. One bit of luck, while I was there a transport truck pulled up with 3 new C-Max's on it. As soon as they rolled off the truck the service manager and I looked in them, all 3 had the piece in the console box.  Seems the assemble people did not know what they were or where they went and were just throwing them in a box under the work bench. Now they know and now I have mine:)

  15. Ford Customer Care just told me that the update won't be out until the middle of June for

    the C-MAX. :censored:

There must be a lot of folks calling, because I was on hold for about 20 minutes. :banghead:

The same basic thing has been said since December of 2012, I still stand by vaporware until it when it is installed - still in the "the check is in the mail" category. Personally things QTR 4 2014. Have had to many sync installed vehicles that have never had any upgrades to fix problems and faults
