  1. Well, now I feel like 'that guy'... I think I did have the A/C running when this happened but I honestly don't remember! It has been a little cooler here the last few days so I've been driving with the windows down rather than running the A/C and I haven't noticed it. I'll pay closer attention going forward. Thanks for all the replies everyone, I've only been here a week and I've already learned a lot!
  2. This describes the feeling pretty well... I just bought the car so I haven't done plugs yet, been working too much to really dig into those areas. I did read another (older post) about issues with the motor mounts, it could certainly be something related to that! Thanks for easing my mind about the tranny!
  3. I've named my C-Max Baymax (from Big Hero 6) because "I am not fast". So of course I had to use a Big Hero 6 wallpaper! Such a nice little touch to be able to customize this aspect of your car!!! I will mention that the car is particular about the format of the pic! It wouldn't recognize a picture until it was 800x384 but once I used GIMP to rescale it it worked perfectly!
  4. So I've been driving my '13 for a week now, mostly short trips and errands (where else am I gonna go right now?) and I'm in love with the car! I think I have my driving pretty well adjusted now (thanks to all the wonderful help from this forum!). A few times when the car switches from ICE to HVB or HVB to ICE I feel a small surge or clunk from the engine bay. Reading about the high incidence of tranny failures I immediately got a little nervous... Is this something that the car is known for or should I be concerned? I'll also mention that the temp has been in the high 80's/low 90's this week so may be temp related? Thanks for any thoughts on the matter!
  5. I have a 2 mile commute to work and if I'm careful I can almost get there on only EV mode. It is fantastic!
  6. Thanks for all the replies everyone! Other than the seatbelt issue I think everything else is something I can live with. I will look into a PDF service manual (I sure seem to have a knack for buying cars not covered by Haynes or Chilton lol). Glad to hear that this is a 'turn key, plant right foot' kind of vehicle!
  7. Also, I like to keep a basic tool kit in the car at all times. Does anyone have a list of commonly used socket sizes, wrenches, drivers that they use when performing maintenance? Ideally anything that will fit in a smaller ammo box? Thanks in advance everyone!!!
  8. Hello everyone! I made a HUGE leap in vehicles... switching from a broken down '04 supercharged Xterra to a '13 C-Max. I picked it up from a friend for a song. I'm excited to learn how to best drive this and maximize my fuel economy!!! There are a few minor hiccups that would be expected at 143k and I'm hoping I will find all the answers I need in this forum. A few that I want to address ASAP - the driver's seatbelt doesn't retract well. The previous owner didn't report any issues with it so maybe I just need to learn its 'handshake'? I assume I need to pull the trim from the pillar to access the seatbelt mechanism? - the pano-roof cover (moon roof?) won't park properly. It will open and close fully if I keep the switch engaged until it reaches the end, but if I do the auto open/auto close it will close/open fully and then 'bounce' back a few inches -when I start the car I get a message that the tire system needs to be serviced? What kind of service do I need to have done? I have always done all the work on all of my cars (timing belts, clutches, drivetrain, etc) and I can't wait to learn everything I can about this vehicle! PS - I'm from Denver, any other owners in the Mile High?
