  1. Looks like I am a little late to this but Ford yesterday agreed to buy back my C-Max. I actually went through the BBB process one year ago and was rejected. The BBB process was a sham. The mediator concluded that the car met the standard for a lemon in Wisconsin in that there were four attempted repairs during the first year of ownership and the car was in the shop for more than 30 days. They rejected the claim because they said there was no evidence that the battery was still a problem. Ford said they fixed it and the mediator ignored the letter of the law and sided with Ford. Fast forward one year and the battery was dead again. I decided to contact a lawyer about it and 30 days later, I am getting my money back. The lawyer called the mediator's decision capricious and stated that many of the BBB mediators have connections with car companies. Good luck to anybody else out there still dealing with this process.
  2. Thanks salman. As far as I can tell it would qualify under Wisconsin Lemon law rules. They require 4 failed attempts or 30 days off the road. I would qualify under both. I am required by Wisconsin Law to go through the BBB since Ford has agreed to use them for arbitration. I guess if it gets rejected then I would at least find out why. Ford is refusing to tell me why they rejected it.
  3. So Ford rejected my request for buyback under Wisconsin's lemon law. Not sure exactly why since the car was in to be fixed for this battery issue 5 times this year and off the road for 30 days. They don't provide a reason. I guess the next step is the BBB process. I love my cmax!
  4. Never received it and wasn't aware of it until today. I am the original owner and haven't moved. There really is no excuse that they wouldn't have sent me this.
  5. Well haven't been on this thread for a while since my last dead battery was back in May. The dealer did a software "fix" and said I wouldn't have any more problems. That was until yesterday (Christmas Eve) when it was dead once again. Great timing. Dealership was closed and it put a delay in all of our holiday plans. So this is the 5th time this has happened in the last 12 months. I bought my SE model on Dec 28th 2012. So this will clearly qualify for my state's lemon law. I am really looking forward to giving this car back to Ford and never buying a Ford again.
  6. Mine is the SE 200A. I am not sure if they tried to update that specific firmware. I know that they have been working closely with Ford and did tell me they updated some software but they were not specific. I also know they pretty much have pulled apart the car looking for something to blame for this. How do we know that the firmware will fix the issue? Is this something that is proven or just hoped for at this point?
  7. I looks like it was built on Oct 12th.
  8. Car was dead again yesterday for the third time. I guess I'll be taking in again tomorrow to get fixed. I've had it for three weeks since they last fixed it. What bothers me the most about this is that they basically told me that they were not sure they fixed it last time but still insisted that I leave with it. I'm done with the car and with Ford. I wrote a letter to ford corporate demanding that they buy back the car. I've mentioned this to the dealer and they have just ignored me. For those who successfully had Ford buy back the car, anysuggestionsfor how to move forward with that?
  9. Hi, Jusy got my C-MAX SE back from the dealer for the second time because of dead battery. Each time they kept the car for 8 days. When they gave it back to me the dealer manager told me that he "hopes" they were able to fix it. He said they have had a lot of these problems and that Ford Corporate is trying really hard to figure out what is wrong. Great. They would not give me a print out of what they did to the car and said they were going to have to send it to me in the mail. They were still talking with Ford Corporate about what to put in the report???? They also said they would call me at the begginning of next week to give me an update? Why am I still driving this car???? Well 16 days so far, 14 days more and it will be a lemon according to Wisconsin law and they would have to give me back my money. I bought the car at the end of December. I had 3,500 miles on the car before the first time it was dead. One time it was in the garage and died overnight. The second time, three weeks after the first, it was parked in the driveway and died sometime during the day.
