Well I started out my last tank when the temp was 78F. I was getting stellar mileage
The above was from a round trip just after filling up but it was not to last
The last couple of days winter decided to return Argh. Temps dropped to mid 40's and so did my MPG. Last I looked it was down to 45.8 MPG for the tank. I really am looking forward to getting some warm weather and sunny days! I am not sure how I will cope with winter mileage next year... First gotta get into the Summer.
Thanks for listening to my whining! Now if Ford would just come out with 3.5.1, whoops that's a rant for another thread ;) !

I saw a youtube video report and the reviewer said the USB wouldn't charge items such as an iPad that have higher voltage requirements than a phone. I haven't tried to verify that yet. FWIW
I am able to charge my ipad using the USB ports. It has to be in sleep mode and it will trickle charge. I have taken it from 88-100% on an hour long drive. I can charge my iPhone without any difficulty. Want to use the 110 port but have not yet had the need.

I just did the 11 method for my second job site. I have been driving there for the last 3 weeks and it didn't come up on the EV+ mode. I decided to try the 11 method after school today. I had to run back for an evening meeting and sure enough it went into EV+. This is really impressive as the site is up a couple of substantial hills. EV+ got me up them at 30mph no problem. That was really cool. I am pretty good at getting the car into and maintaining EV but this feature gives an envelope of performance that with manual EV I cannot touch(e.g. going up hills). Now to figure out other places where EV+ makes sense.

I have seen that coasting does recharge the battery. For me when I come into town I top off the battery by coasting from 55 - 40 - 30. This corresponds to my speedtrap town's changing speed zones. If I have managed the SOC correctly I almost always top up the battery to almost full, which allows me to EV all the way home :). I am not sure I would see a better return in SOC if I hit the Regen Mode as I would have to go into EV mode sooner due to a corresponding reduction of speed. Just my two cents, YMMV.

I just found an interesting post over at syncmyride. It states that to get 3.5.1 we will need our PCM( Power Control Modules) flashed to work with 3.5.1. The poster claimed unnamed sources but this is the first credible rationale I have heard. Check out the Post here.http://boards.synccommunity.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=27&nav=messages&webtag=fordsyncmb&tid=6497

Have at it everyone - higher MPGS for all!!!! Yaaaaaahhhh!!!!!
I too am seeing increased MPG's and my car is not yet broken it, only 1400 or so miles on it. My tank average right now is 50.0 MPG and I am showing around 55 to 48 MPG on most trips with an occasional 42 MPG when I drive into a strong wind. I am very happy that the temps are going up and my MPG is going up with it!

Welcome! I too am a former Prius (04) and Camry Hybrid(08) driver. This car is a lot of fun and better car even with the odd missing features.

I saw a green one on my way the school this am. They were unloading some stuff out of the liftgate. They were so busy I am not sure that they even saw me gliding on ev up the hill.

As far as I know the only display of those stats is on the shutdown of the car. What some folks have done ( including myself) is to use trip 2 to keep a running total of stats. I am unaware of any way of accessing the lifetime info other than on shutdown.

Hi all,
So to those who have hit the 600 mile club what should I be shooting for as far as per tank MPG. I am getting right now about 45 mpog for this tank. Will I be able to reach the vaunted 600 mile mark. I do realize that I still need to break in the car, I just got over 1000 miles last night. But I really want to join this club :worship: . Any info on what I need to shoot for would be appreciated

Today driving in to work I worked really hard to keep my battery SOC high. There are some really long level stretches of road near the end that is perfect for EV mode. I have found that keeping the battery charging is sometimes very difficult. It is a fine line between charging the battery and discharging it when the electrical motor assists the ICE. Has anyone figured out an easy way to stay in charging status? I suspect it will be a continual balancing of pedal and acceleration/deceleration. I did manage to get the battery to full (one of the first times I have seen that) and was in EV just over 3 miles near the end of my ride. Thanks for any feedback.

I just moved over from a Camry Hybrid that had keyless entry and every so often I used the key fob there, this continues with my Cmax but now that I can open the back doors with the keyless entry I believe that even this seldom use will be diminished. I hate it when I rent a car that only has keys. Just like others it is an inconvenience when the door won't open at my. Magic touch :)

Please, please, please list the steps for synching to GPS even if you don't have navigation.
I could be wrong but I don't believe there is any way for us non nav MFT folks to get that option even though the car has an onboard gps reciever.
Plug-in kit to for the C-Max Hybrid?
