It will be at least a couple of weeks before a VIN is issued. Window sticker will appear about a week before the actual build. See my update below for an example of what to expect.....

Yep... I certainly wont post every stop, for fear of running everyone off the Board. However, like Laurel, I've found it interesting to see it go from 2 or 3 stops in the Detroit area, to Pontiac, and now in Battle Creek. All in the past 12 hours! I suspect that the train is picking up railcars as it goes and will then head toward Chicago where railcars will be resorted. From there South with a variety of cargo on the train. On the other hand, this is all conjecture. I know little about trains, other than Amtrak has a North/South run from Chicago. It may end up going through San Diego, before it gets here!

Sterling Gray here. My wife saw the "Ice Storm" and indicated that I might lose my "Man Card" if I got that one. I liked Red, which was my second choice. (also more $$) White looks good, but is a bit plain, costs more $$, and also shows the dirt (been there and done that!) Black is impossible to keep clean and shows every ding. Always seems to look better on a larger car (Think "Lincoln"). Not a good choice for Texas summers. I got the stone interior. Black is waaaayyy to hot here in Texas. Also shows the dirt. ...... That's was my line of thinking. Obviously, YMMV. Everyone gets to make a choice. The world would be awfully boring if we all had the same color!

Body Side Mouldings from www.bodysidemouldings.com arrived today. Now I just need a car to put under them! Super fast shipment. I'm thinking that I ordered them over the weekend or Monday. They arrived today (Wednesday). They are also marked for the Focus. Same mouldings... different measurements!

Laurel. Glad that yours is back "on track". I've been bumped from 12/3 to 12/7. Car was still enjoying scenic Detroit as of Noon today.

Skitime: You didn't ask about the Sunroof. However, I wanted to make sure that you know that it is for "sun only". It doesn't open. ....Just Sayin' For us both of the options that you mentioned were important. I got the park assist too. I'm not sure why, but I did..... Now i will have to go cruising looking for a parallel space to try! Have Fun!!

Congrats RachelnLa! (and Dad too). I'm sure we will love our cars..... once they finally arrive! It is amazing to see how fast the Board is growing! Just a few weeks ago it seemed like it was Laurel, you, me, and a couple of others. Now a bunch of folks are showing up. Fantastic!

This could be an advantage...... The "new month" of December for car companies usually starts right after the first weekend of the month. I'm not sure how Ford does it, but I think that they may go through 12/3 as November business. The US rebate is $1000, just like the Escape was when it first came out. The current rebate is good through 1/2/13 it might go up a bit, like the Escape did a few months after it was introduced.... All a roll of the dice!

Sorry Laurel !: Looks like Cyberdman took a day off. When he gets back next week, you should be able to get another update. If that one has the railcar information on it, you should be able to track it closely from the link I posted the other day. If my car gets stuck in Detroit over the long weekend, I doubt that it will make it here on 12/3. If it gets out of the barn today, there may be some hope. Interestingly enough, my salesman is "no longer with the dealership." I'm working with the Sales Manager now. I'm glad that I got the deal in writing! However, I'll be happier when it is all done. I'm trying to remember if you celebrate Thanksgiving up there. Soooo.... Happy Holiday or Happy Weekend!
