  1. Patience is a virtue- I am still lacking. no luck on the purple wire- I am going to tape it shut for now and continue. It is not a parking sensor. (it is particularly clean, which tells me - up- toward batery box- but I do not see anything yet- and I realized my horn reinstall in not right, it is conflicting with the foglamp when I reinstall the bumper cover. I caused some damage (broke off a tab) in the process of assembling and disassembling- working on the horn next. for the record- I did not disassemble it-
  2. Thanks CR08 for the diagram- looks like the parking sensor c1607- I will check it out tomorrow. I was looking all over the engine bay and across the front of the bumper- I will check Thanks again. Once I reassemble bumper cover I will have 3 Cmaxes in the family fleet
  3. Able to drive and reassemble - however I have one wire left over- I should be able to figure out where it plugs in - but CANNOT find it! pictured approx 18 inch dangling cord to where???? - purple connector, 3 wires any feedback on where this leads to would be appreciated this car equipped with parking sensors and fog lights- but that plug all appears straight forward.

  5. YEESS ITS ALIVE- Now 3Maxes- Zombie back from the dead Update Thanks everyone that posted- I ended up changing the ECM - but still needed an automotive locksmith to come do some programing- then it fired right up!! FYI I bought a replacement ECM online which was supposedly programmed to my VIN- - it was not - luckily Locksmith was able to read / harvest damaged ecm data and upload onto the refurbished one I purchased. I am wrapping up assembly today and will be test driving tomorrow. It did drive in all electric mode even with the damaged ecm
  6. do you think the PCHM is generic enough that i can get one from a junkyard or is it super custom tailored to each VIN number's needs?
  7. again- i will if i have too- i would really like it to just start- or allow me to fix it. the secret codes are an issue
  8. I will if I have to, but it was the dealer that racked up a $9,000 estimate to repair the car in the first place - which is what doomed it to being "totaled" Car is now mechanically fully reassembled- and will start- but it is stuck in a zombie state thinking it is in trouble. I am concerned if I go to a dealer they will say- it is totaled already, buy a new car from us...our insurance wont let us work on a totaled car- or some similar line of BS The car was hardly damaged at all- I just cannot see sending this magnificent car to a scrap heap because the radiator was damaged- Really would like to bring it back to life- if the dealer would be helpful- i would pay to have it picked up and towed back there, so far they have been as unhelpful as possible. I have no doubt if I had not purchased the "totaled" car- it would have been repaired and back on the dealers barren empty lot within days. They were very interested in keeping the car.
  9. Hello again- I have been away a bit. I cleared the codes and started the C Max - it ran great for a second then shut down - same as before, my hope for a miracle cure dashed again... Here is where I am most worried- that I cannot reawaken the Zombie because Ford has a Hex on it, keeping it from coming back to life. With a freshly charged and reconnected 12v battery, I cleared the codes and tried again- a series of new codes popped up, all of them say "permanent": I dont know what action steps to take next?????????? 11. ordered a scanner and a Forescan compatible cable (just ordered , amazon says it will be here at 3pm- I live way out in the sticks pretty impressed if it makes it today. downloading software now. I am not really sure what I am doing with the sensor- posted everything that looked relevant. 12. Thanks cr08 (create?)- It is an Energi- I really like the plug in feature. I do not have a reader- looking at a bunch on Amazon right now- not really sure what reader to get- I would like to be able to read / fix as many codes as possible with out going full "snap on" cost. I will pick one up. The actual temps are ambient temperature - 65 degrees F- because the ICE will not run for more than a couple of seconds before the stop safely warning comes on (still "ready to drive" green car symbol, electric mode only, I have not moved it yet still on a lift. possibly the sensor bad- not reading?
  13. Thanks for approving my topic- back from the dead Cmax. Car was driven 300 yards and parked after accident I purchased another Cmax to replace the one that was in an accident, I guess I am pretty committed now with 3. The Zombie Cmax back from the dealer is back together mechanically, still on the lift. Mechanically it all went back together easily, the damage was minor. I replaced the radiator that was bent but not ruptured Also replaced the fan was (Housing bent up) but not ruined, replaced anyway, replaced the transmission and inverter cooler, cooler lines which were pinched and leaked. transmission filled (challenging but Ok) replaced radiator support bracket charged engine and big battery- ongoing seems OK Here is where the trouble starts: I have a STOP SAFETY warning I have an engine coolant overtemp warning I cannot get the warnings to clear. The electric coolant pump has kicked on, I can feel it running through upper radiator hose. I believe i bled off most air (topped off many times over a couple of days) I do not have a lot of testing equipment- all looks good- but all systems are not Go ready yet- Any suggestions would be appreciated THANKS- Three Cmaxes
  14. Hello All- I have 2 Cmax energis a 2015 and a 2016. My son had a fender bender driving my wifes car, the 2015. The damage was mostly under the front, under the radiator- MINOR LOOKING Dealer estimate is 8k insurance says it exceeds 75 ration so they will not fix- (buggers). I have purchased the damaged (totaled? ) vehicle and had it dropped back off at my house - I am sure I can make all needed repairs with some effort. I am mostly worried about the car being electronically locked by the dealer/ ford. I cannot get it to respond at all yet. NO dash , cant even open the trunk to see if battery is disconnected. It was drivable after the accident, now after the dealership it is a dead brick. Can I overcome the software issues or will I be fighting ford trying to keep this beautiful little car off the road this all the way?
