  1. I had a number of issues that have all been rectified. my Ford dealership is absolutely outstanding. Now that all the initial problems have been rectified, including liftgate, I hope to see what the car is like in100,000 miles.
  2. You guys are gonna love the new software download. It fixed the tailgate perfectly. You also get some fancy new stuff out of your my touch.

    Rattles

I have an annoying squeak/rattle in both my front doors. I can replicate it by pressing on the door panels, but I cannot stop it. It started about 6000 and I have 9500 miles now. Suppose I'll have to take it to the garage. Nonetheless, I love the C-Max Hybrid enough that we went out and bought a second one for the household yesterday.
  4. If I'm lighted footed and driving for mileage, I get the rated mileage (exception when the batteries need warmed on cold mornings and I'm using heat and heated seats ( live it Boston). ....btw, I'm not afraid to punch the throttle to pass or merge. I've taken 1 mile long trips in the high 70s and I consistently get 46 to 51 mpg on my 15 mile commute. (I find the computer to be 2 to 4 percent off when filling the tank in ford's favor. When I'm running late for a meeting and driving for speed, I get 38mpg. A 1 mile trip on a cold morning yeilds 16mpg. Yes 16 mpg. I use pulse driving techniques to move the car into EV mode, I anticipate red lights I have an average braking score of 97%. Consumer Reports, MotorTrend, etc. are reporting 33mpg. I can't figure it out unless they have lead feet.
  5. My thoughts for my C-MAX SEL that I really like to drive (I have 3000 miles). I find the computer to be off by about 2 mpg in Ford's favor when refilling the tank. Since I bought it in September, I was first getting good mileage 43 to 44mpg on my 15 mi commute to work. After driving it a week, I was getting the 45 to 51mpg consistently. Part of my commute is 9 miles of I-90 and I never drove it over 62 mph, part was waiting to get on the entrance ramp and 3 miles of stop and go. I am not afraid to punch the throttle when passing or pulling out of a toll gate. However, I do pull off gently to stay in EV mode when in stop and go...unless I need to quickly merge. Now that it's cold (I live in Boston), I get 38 to 44 on the way to work depending on if I stop at the gym first (engine is a bit warmer when making my final trek to work). It's not uncommon for my 1st leg to the gym to read 16 mpg as I have the lights, heater and heated seats on and it just gets warm when I turn it off. My last tank measurement which included 285 miles of driving in the rain and snow averaged 38.5 mpg. Again, I kept it running no more than 62 mph unless needing to pass or pulse it to get it into EV mode. I feel duped buying this for the 47 mpg mileage, but I love the way it drives, the space, the interior.....and the Mytouch. I hope the promised mileage returns in the spring, just like the flowers in my garden. Oh yeah....There are some initial software issues that will make the car appear not to start....it will go into battery safe mode by itself and only then it will allow you to start after about 15 min. So if your car appears to be alive, but won't start, be patient and you'll get it started again. Yeah, that pissed me off, but the dealer said Ford was aware of it and had a fix... so that, and a loaner car eased the pain. Am I a fool for still liking this car?
  6. I'm loving my C-MAX, but as an early adopter and picky car owner I had paint flaws at the bottom of the doors....drips marks. Interrior mirror's back film was flawed and passanger front door was out of alignment. Dealer fixed all and gave me a loaner. Great dealer. Now the irritating stuff. Put the car in reverse and it won't go until I shift to Park or N or D and return to reverse. Happened 8 times so far. Also, the multi-purpose center screen dies and nothing will work until I put it in reverse and the rear camera is displayed. Then then back to park or drive and then I get the radio and navigation again. Also, my "Green Leaf" display disappeared completely and then started working when I shut off the car and started again. OK Ford....get your software engineers on this STAT. I hope this is not going to last for the next 10 years I hoped to own this thing.
