My "Cover" just arrived for my C-MAX Emergency Spare Tire (Donut) from Amazon.Com and your correct. Fits perfectly and almost an exact color match for the Light Stone Interior. Thanks! $10 shipped! I got the smallest one offered (21& 1/2 inches) and it fits like a glove. It's made to slip on/off with an elastic cord around the backside. Here it is strapped down in place for trips. The color is remarkable close to the stone interior too. (bonus score!)

Some jerk hit our car in a parking lot!
Phil1336 replied to CarpeNivem's topic in Body Panels, Trim, etc.
Some idiots, especially those driving "beaters" are just thoughtless ignorant imbeciles and really don`t (ding) others peoples Vehicles deliberately. Just throw their Cars doors open until it cant open any further. If it happens to come in contact with another vehicle, oh well. I remember years ago when I was in my 20`s I had a brand new car, was on a Date and was just parking in the Movie Theatre`s Lot. Someone with a fairly new Car parked close to mine and threw open his Car door and put a good size (ding) into my drivers door. He exited his Vehicle did`nt say a word. I immediately got out of my car examined the damage and before the other Driver walked away, I kicked the heel of my shoe into his Drivers door so hard it caved it in. I was ready for a fight, jail, the hospital or all of the above. In the moment, rage rules! Now, in Florida with its Stand Your Ground Law and most people "armed", probably would have resulted in a homicide. -
What accessories or add-ons would like you to see for the C-Max

I agree, if you don`t want to make DRL`s standard equipment like 99% of Auto Manufacturers already have, at least offer the Option to those who want it. Chrysler does. Mazda, Nissan and Ford are the only hold outs and even Ford for some odd reason makes them available across their entire line of Cars and Trucks (only) for Fleet Purchase as option #942 for only $45. Sorry, Retail buyers are not allowed that choice. No one has an answer either and Ford will not give one! -

You Sir are in a distinct minority. Look around your, what Vehicles other then Ford, Chrysler, Mazda and Nissan (don`t) have DRL`s? Got an issue with another example of the heavy hand of our Federal Government forcing more regulations on us? You think the average "CAFE" Fuel Economy numbers would be where they are if left to the "free marketplace"? Seat Belts, Shoulder Belts, pollution controls, all further intrusions? China has no Government oversight on safety and emissions. Check out the air quality there. Perhaps if the U.S. joined with Canada and mandated Daytime running lights, we would risk running down that slippery slope of Socialism like Canada has an you can see how bad things are up there. -

The point of DRL`s is to minimize electrical drain during Daytime driving conditions by leaving "off" the Rear tail Lights, marker lights, either in headlamp assembly or on side of Vehicle depending on make and Brand. Usually brake lights are satisfactory to warn Vehicles behind you of your intention of slowing down or stopping where having Tail Lights illuminated all the time is really unnecessary. Even when DRL`s utilize the regular Headlamp, be it on low beam or high beam, it is reduced (by law) to either 75/80% Power illumination. Prevents unnecessary glare from effecting oncoming vehicles as well as reduces energy needed for lower illumination output. Why should one want or need to remember to put their Headlamps on during the Daytime to achieve this safety benefit automatically. Like I Posted earlier 99% of Auto manufacturers that sell in the U.S, market equip their Vehicles with DRL`s. Ford refuses except for (Fleet Orders) Chrysler although not standard equipment offers the DRL`s as a Factory or Dealer installed plug in option. Only Mazda and Nissan continue to refuse allowing DRL`s to be available along with some Hyundia and certain Kia Models. HKAG simply can`t make up their mind on the issue. Half their Models have them, some only on their top of the line Trim as a LED DRL fashion feature. It simply makes no sense. Kia`s SX Model Sorento`s and Sportages have LED, DRL`s. Their Rio SX`s have LED`s but are only wired as Parking Lights, (not) DRL`s, go figure? Hyundia has DRL`s on their Sonata`s and Elantra`s regardless of Trim Level but (not) on their smaller Accent`s. Maybe someday our NHTSA will (finally) make a decision once and for all. Decide either its a good idea or a bad idea. Tell all Auto Manufacturers selling Cars and Trucks in the U.S. after a certain future date, either make them mandatory or simply instruct that they (not) be installed in new future Vehicles after a certain date. The added (cost) factor is "not" the issue. They can utilize the regular Headlamp Assembly at reduced illumination if they chose or opt to utilize the more expensive LED configuration on certain Models if they prefer to do so. -
Congratulations and best of luck with your new C-MAX. We can now (all) collectively inhale/exhale and enjoy a sigh of relief. I have only had mine for 2 weeks and already put on the Ford OEM Bumper Protector Applique as well as the Window Vent Shades so I can crack the widows open a bit to release the scorching interior heat when parked in the Sun. Had my Daytime Running Lights activated/enabled after 3 Dealership attempts and now just starting to figure out how to operate all the Technology I (never) wanted and hope I can eventually bypass or put in a default mode that won`t lead to unnecessary aggravation. Some of us aging Dinosaurs or Old Dogs (could) learn new tricks but have zero interest in doing so. I personally would sooner see my Dentist for a "Gold Tooth" Crown then be concerned with mating my Cell Phone to "Blue Tooth" compatibility, just saying......

The issue Ford has with DRL`s is (not) simply with the C-MAX and its Hybrids. They refuse to make them available on all their Vehicles except for Fleet purchase. Toyota and Honda have had DRL`s on their Prius and Civic Hybrid`s for years. If a fraction of less then 1 mpg in fuel economy is not worth the small potential is safety an oncoming Vehicles seeing you better in all driving conditions much like Motorcycles, like 99% of all other Car Manufacturers equip their Cars with, so be it. Other then Ford, Chrysler(where DRL`s are an option), Mazda, and Nissan, who else takes issue with Daytime Running Lights? Make them available for those that will sacrifice .25 mpg and have a default switch to disable/deactivate the DRL`s for those that choose to. Its quite simple! PS: Nice choice of Color, Frank. I chose Ice Storm too! -

Just because Daytime Running Lights is only available as a Fleet Only Option # 942 for $45. you can still have them activated/enabled on your 2013 C-MAX if you insist and go to the right Ford Dealership. The Dealers will tell you that the Body Control Module "BCM" can no longer be modified within the IDS Programmer to allow for DRL activation. 2 Dealerships confirmed this lie including a reply from the Ford Tech Support Center. 3rd Dealership pulled the Rabbit from the Magic Hat. $100 labor charge and now my C-MAX has DRL`s! Having U.S. Spec Ford Vehicles that are not destined for Canada to have Daytime Running Lights is like having impacted wisdom teeth removed. In this case, "Stupid Teeth"! -
I took delivery of my 2013 Ford SE C-MAX 2 weeks ago also in Ice Storm. Like it a lot especially with the Light Stone Cloth Interior. Got the 202A Sirius/XM Satellite Radio Package with the fancy larger MFT Display Screen too. I agree, why they switched from "Frosted Glass" that had a much more greenish hue to the "Ice Storm" that looks greenish in cloudy conditions and bluish in the Sun in beyond me. Still attractive but Frosted Glass would have been my choice. Last Ford Vehicle to offer Frosted Glass was 2013 MY Ford Escape. That color has now been retired, period! I would have opted for the Ruby Red but I just traded in a 2011 Fiesta in Candy Red Metallic which was too similar. LIked the Tuxedo Black Metallic too but I was`nt ready to wash daily as required to make it look attractive all the time. Ice Storm looks good even when needing a trip to the Car Wash.

As they say "Mazel Tov"! Congratulations. I thought after going through that much "Labor," you would have been given a C-Section, LOL
-
Too bad having your Daytime Running Lights enabled/activated for U.S. Spec Vehicles was so simple. Unless ordered as a Fleet Purchase with a Valid "FIN" or a Vehicle being shipped North of the Border for Canadian Registration, as "Charlie Chan" used to say, "So Sorry". DRL Option Code # 942 not available for Retail Sales, Fleet Only. Makes sense to me!
-
Very likely, indeed. Both Kia and Hyundai both in the U.S. and Canada have initiated Cash Rebate Debit Cards to Owners of certain Model Vehicles that did`nt meet projected Fuel Economy numbers. Based on annual miles driven and verified at HKAG Dealerships, a pre-loaded Visa/MC is issued every year as long as you own the car based on actual miles driven and compensated accordingly. Time will tell......

Really? Never recall a Vehicle matching or (exceeding) The EPA Fuel Estimates? I had one I just traded in for a new 2013 C-MAX. My 2011 Fiesta SE Hatchback that from day of delivery always got 33-35 mpg city and 41-43 mpg highway with A/C (always) on! EPA Sticker was 28 City and 38 Highway, LOL No optional Special Fuel Efficiency Package either. Spare tire and Jack Kit in Truck too. "NO" Tire Mobility Kit containing a toy air compressor and can of tire sealant goo that fouls your TPM Sensors either.

Just installed the clear Bumper Protector Applique with the C-MAX Hologram and it looks sharp as well as the Ford OEM Window Vent Shades in Dark Smoke Acrylic with the easy to stick on double sided 3M Tape. Both are covered for damage and breakage for the 3 year/36 month Warranty, same as Vehicle. Wish the Factory Tinted Glass was a few shades darker but my experience with Window Tint Film in the extreme Florida Heat and Sun (regardless) of Brand Used or Quality Product, eventually they all either become wavy and slightly distorted, delaminate or have slight color change. Even with the Best 3M Tint Film with original owners Lifetime Warranty, I`m tired of the hassle of replacement.

Did you experience the same sense of excitement an anxiety awaiting the birth of your first Child or taking home your first Golden Retriever? Grab a BBQ Brisket Sandwich, a Pint of Lone Star Beer and a couple of Xanax tabs, LOL. Its going to be ok! Next time as I suggested, check the "Nationwide" Vehicle Locator, buy a cheap Ticket (one-way) on SWA and drive it Home. You`ll be a lot happier and won`t have to endure all the "labor" pains. If you replace your Vehicles every 3 or 4 years and go through the same aguish your going to age prematurely. Imagine if you were awaiting your Custom Built Maybach Mercedes-Benz, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, or BMW M Series crossing the Atlantic Ocean. The US Coast Guard would be watching for the Ship Carrier both at Sea on Radar as well as Satellite from Space. :)

Ebay Seller fito0761 Miami FL Item # 251316894244 Emergency Spare Tire Donut "T135/70D16" Fits 2006 Taurus and is identical wheel and bolt pattern as 2013 Focus 108mm.
-
Never considered that possibility but what about the many Vehicles that come Factory Equipped withthe so called "Tire Mobility Kits" and then offer through their Parts Department a Spare Tire Donut Emergency Kit with Jack Assembly and Lug Wrench? Think every Tow Driver will not which Vehicles had Factory Sold retro-emergency tire kits to replace the Tire Mobility Kits? Most Auto Manufacturers will not cover fouled/defective TPS Sensors caused by Tire Sealant Goo. Shows the confidence in using that crap. Add up the cost of the TPS Sensor and the Labor (not) covered by the Warranty and see what that flat tire will actually cost. I just avoided purchasing the JackKit and Lug Wrench because neither my Wife nor myself have any interest in doing Tire Changes at this point in our lives. If Ford Road Service won`t put on the Donut, I`m sure AAA will or they won`t have (my) Membership renewal next year after 40 plus years!
-
Just picket up a brand new, never been used Emergency Spare Tire (Donut) off a Dealer in Miami that specializes in Spare Tire replacements for Vehicles that are now equipped with "Mobility Kits". Toy air-compressors and Can of Tire Sealant Goo that fouls your Tire Pressure Indicators. Paid $30! Compared the Emergency Spare Tire Wheel & Tire which came off a 2006 Taurus with that of a 2013 Ford Focus. T135/70/D16 and using bolt measurement calipers showed identical Bolt Pattern measurement of 108 mm. Could have purchased a brand new Ford matching Jack Tool Kit with Lug Wrench and Storage Cover for an additional $20. I`ll leave that Flat Tire change to AAA or Ford Roadside Service assuming they have a proper Jack and Lug wrench.
-
Think I`m going to just get that Spare Tire Cover that was linked to Amazon and just secure it with a ratchet latch strap in the rear storage area, period. Going to skip the Jack KIt and Lug Wrench. Figure, if I have the misfortune to need an Emergency Spare Tire Change due to a Flat or Sidewall failure, I`ll simply call Ford Roadside Service or AAA and have them use their equipment to mount the Emergency "Donut". One less item to store and carry about. While I await the Tow Truck, I`ll listen to Sirius/XM Radio until they arrive! The toy air compressor and can of tire sealant goo is a poor substitute for a Emergency Spare Donut no less the old Full Size Spare. Not only is it not full proof depending on the nature or location of the puncture but it also fouls and ruins the TPM Sensor as well that will need replacement which is (not) a covered Warranty item if deemed defective due to contamination of the Sealant goo! Ford saves the cost of the Spare Tire and Jack Assembly, claims that the 40 lbs + - of extra weight is a deal breaker for Fuel Economy. The Engineers could have figured a way of fitting it (under) the rear bumper like the Ford Explorer that had a Full Size Spare.
-
Now, what did you find to store the Jack Assembly and Lug Wrench to fit in? Great idea for the Emergency Donut Spare Tire!

Its always agonizing the endless wait to take delivery of a Special Ordered Vehicle. I usually do it anyway and just grin and bear it. Not so bad when you "Pre-Order" a New Model Vehicle say in Mid-Spring or Early Summer and its going to be the (next) MY when it arrives. To wait 3 months and take delivery in late Summer of the current Model year when the (next) Model Year is going to be launched just a few months later is unexceptable. The 1st Model Years depreciation is the same if you took Delivery the first month they were launched or a month before the next Model year is released. Nice to have at least 6 months driving (under the belt) before you get (belted) with the huge hit of 1st year Depreciation. The MY 2014 will be coming off the assembly lines the beginning of Dec just 4 months away. Last day to order a MY 2013 C-MAX is Fri Aug.31. If one waits that long, why not wait until Sept 18, and await a 2014 that should arrive in MId Jan of 2014?
-
That Emergency SpareTire and Jack Kit Storage Bag is a great solution. You could sell a ton of them on Ebay. I`ll buy the first one!
-
Understandable, I special Pre-Ordered my 2011 Fiesta SE Hatchback in early Mar of 2010 and took Delivery July 19, 2010. Had no choice. New Vehicle launch and I wanted the Power Moonroof too. I would have done the same if I waited to order a 2014 C-MAX when the Order Bank opens on Sept 16. Local Dealer just did an area search and found (2) exact matches for the SE C-MAX I was looking for. 2 were already on the Lot at one Dealership in my 2 preferred color choices and the (3rd) was in route a another Dealership 5 miles away too but was in transit. They would attempted a (swap) but I knew with an X-Plan purchase, they would`nt have paid to ship my new Vehicle on a Flat-Bed Trailer so I figured I might as well put on the first 125 miles, lol.
-
After much delay and commitment to pre-ordering a MY 2014 C-MAX in Sept for Delivery in late Jan,2014 I decided with little to no changes anticipated but perhaps either a price increase and reduction of incentives, I pulled the trigger and bought a 2013 on July 31. The $1000 matching Cash Rebate, a Private Cash Rebate Post Card of an additional $750 in savings and a .09% Finance rate for 36 months was too tempting.I had to drive 2 hours to a Dealership who happened to have not (1) but (2) identically equipped SE`s with the 202A Package in both my Color Selections. Tough choice between the Ice Storm and the Ruby Red Metallic but since I have been driving my 2011 Fiesta SE Hatchback for the past 36 months in Candy Red Metallic, just a bit lighter then the Ruby Red, I pocket the $500 Paint upgrade savings an took the Ice Storm instead. Perfect tranquil color for the Hot Tropics here in South FL. Now, if I can only figure out how to disable/deactivate the SYNC and MFT and simply learn how to use the Radio Pre-Sets on the Touch Screen and move from Am-FM-to Sirius/XM Radio without having to stop at a Ford Dealership every other day for a Tutorial. Not owning or desiring a "Smart Phone" I should have known what was awaiting me. I`m sure there is an "App" for that too!
-
Rather then go through all that drama, why did`nt have your Local DEalership do a C-MAX specific search for the exact Vehicle you were looking for that was already sitting on some other Dealerships lot? I found the (exact) Color, Trim (SE) and Option (Package 202A) that I was searching for a a Dealership 150 miles North of me. I took the 2 hour drive up there with my 2011 Ford Fiesta SE Hatchback, spoke with a Internet Sales Rep who confirmed he had the Vehicle I was looking for in stock and still available. He put a hold on it. I drove up on Wed July 31, with my X-Plan PIN # my Postacard with $750 "Private Cash Rebate", added the Nationwide $1000, matching funds, 36 Month Ford Credit Financing at .09%, they gave me within $200, of (top) Blackbook Trade-in value" for my Fiesta and the Deal was Done. No wait. The C-MAX was only on their lot for 2 weeks and was Built on June 12. Seems a lot less stressful then awaiting a New car to be Born and Delivered!
