I have a weird issue with my 2013 Ford C-Max. I park the car and turn off the car. When I open the door, the radio does not go off and none of the audio controls work. When I turn the car back on, none of the audio controls work and the hands-free voice activation doesn’t work. It’s happened 4 times. Each time I take it to the dealer. The first 2 times, they disconnected the battery and it started working properly. But each time it happened again after about 2 months. The third time they thought it was the radio so I paid $700 for a new radio. It happened again 2 months later. Right now they have no clue what’s wrong with it. They contacted Ford engineers but they are telling them to do stuff that they’ve already tried. Any ideas from this group would be greatly appreciated. Marilyn -
Hi: I have a 2013 hybrid and have installed a towing hitch for a motorcycle trailer. I also purchased a powered taillight converter I need to install. It needs a 12v connection for power. Under the utility cover in the cargo area of the car, there is a battery connection. I can't figure out if this is the 12v battery connection I should use of if this is the high-voltage battery I should stay away from. Nothing in the tutorials or on-line information seems to have this important information. Does anyone know? I suppose I could put a multi-meter on it and see. Cheers and thanks

I have a 2013 cmax and I recently bought a dashcam, and installed it using a fuse tap. I used fuse spot 85 which I checked with my multimeter and it only got power when the car was running. It seems my cmax didn't like it, since I woke up one day to a dead battery. Does anybody have any suggestions for a fuse spot that I can use instead?

Monday 11/3/2014. Weather temp 43F. Time around 6:40am. Driving on highway. Radio has been on since the car started 30mins ago. Around 6:40am, there as some kind of static or sound like from firework sparking stick that was coming from the speakers for serveral minutes. I thought may be the radio channel need to change. But before I changed it, the radio screen was turned off and blank, and the radio channel still was playing. And then the radio screen was back to normal being on again, the radio channel was still playing, but the sparking noises from the speakers were gone. This has happened one time. Bizzare? And yes yes, I only have the basic model with radio equipment only. :)
