My 2014 C-MAX PHEV has stopped transmitting full power to the wheels. When I press the gas pedal to the floor, the engine roars, the electric motor turns, and the car barely moves. (It takes 14.7 seconds to reach 100 km/h.) A full inspection led to the conclusion that the clutch of the HF35 gearbox has most likely worn out. I would like to know if you have encountered this problem and how to solve it.

Hey guy's I'm a in a bit of a dilemma. So one of my rear motor mounts bolts snapped in the transmission housing and thought it would just be easier to replace the housing part #(DG9P-7976-CC). While pulling the housing I accidently pulled the Electric motor input shaft and intermediate shaft. I see there are blue marks on the gears. Do shaft gears teeth have to align with one another or can I just place them in without aligning them specifically? I work on cars a lot but never on a transmission so I'm not sure where to go from here. All transmission shops near me are booked for a couple of weeks. Here is picture below of the gear's/shafts I'm talking about and the other is my snapped housing. If anyone has a link to manual or where I can purchase one that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead.

Hey all, My 2014 cmax non energi has been having the dreaded rubbing/grinding/thumping noise from the transmission for several thousand miles now(maybe 8k). This whole time I assumed it was a wheel bearing going out and finally had it checked out to verify. With it being over the factory warranty mileage at 113k I am looking at all my options on how to repair this issue. I was looking at used hf35s on LKQ and it turns out I can get a later model from say a 2016 with less miles for up to $500 cheaper than I can an early model year from a 13 or 14. My question is if the problem is bad enough that I now have to replace the transmission, can I put a later year hf35 without pissing off the cars computer system or having to make serious modifications? Thanks Jason

All, From all of my research, and it is extensive, I believe a C-Max hybrid should easily be able to tow a relatively light trailer. I have studied the HF 35 Ecvt and spoken to a friend who is an engineer at Ford for over 30 years now and I don't see any reason why the Cmax can't tow a light trailer safely and without over-stressing the Ecvt. Is anyone towing any decent trailers? Success? I understand that the manual says 'Not Recommended' if that is your only comment, then save it, it is already noted. My friend Ford's response to the 'Not Recommended' comment in the manual is simply, 'Possibly Ford would like to steer you to a more profitable vehicle?'.... The HF 35 trans is modeled after the Toyota Prius Hybrid drive system, and is even stronger than the Prius Hybrid drive (more HP engine and battery). If you browse the Prius forums you will find people routinely towing trailers over 1,000 lbs, one guy tows a 1,900 lb travel trailer with no problems. Ford is bringing an F150 Hybrid and Escape either in 2019 or 2020, both will be rated to tow and certainly will use the HF35 model. I have an 1,100 lb Waverunner I would like to tow and believe I can do so safely. I plan on putting brakes on the custom trailer. Trying to see what other people are towing and the results. Thanks 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid 102K miles
